Morecambe is another tough game, although the weather could be an issue in this game going ahead, given it supposed to rain constantly from now up until the middle of the afternoon on Tuesday.

If it goes ahead, it's a great chance for us to win 5 straight games for the first time in almost 30 years, although they've seemingly done well in replacing their lost loanees and have 5 points in their last 3 games, plus have only lost twice at home all season. Would be nice to win, but after the wins over Mansfield and Barrow, we can afford to drop one on the road, so I'd take a point.

Great opportunity for Crewe to pile the pressure on here. 2 games for them while we don't have a league game until February, they could go 4 points above us which leaves us needing to take advantage of the games in hand. 2 of those games are away too and our away form is sketchy to say the least.

I'd be happy with a point, new manager in there and we're leaking goals which you can't afford to do against Notts. I'd have been much more confident 6 weeks ago.

Barrow are always tough but they're not world beaters so every reason to hope for a win. Our home form's good and the new man says all the right things and is by no means a novice. Expect us to be less flamboyant but better out of possession under him, we can't keep conceding like we have been and have a prayer of making the play-offs.

Surprised you're leaking goals, Pete Wilde Halifax team were mean and you were gritty up at your place, first twenty minutes we were all over you but you held firm and in the end we were lucky to get the point.

Up until the Stockport game we'd been really solid out of possession. I don't think we've turned into an average side but we're just having one of spells where we are making a few errors and they're costing us. All the goals yesterday were avoidable and Crewe punished the mistakes, something we can't afford to do when you've the likes of Langstaff in the box.

Massive psychological blow for you not winning that on Boxing Day. You should have won it from 2-0 up, we were on our arse and weren't great. I thought you'd have a dip after that.

I would be very surprised if we didn’t have two or three new players in before this as well, obviously one being that elusive right-sided centre back.

He doesn't score against Top 7 so you'll be fine.

Barrow at home and (a loss) at Mansfield away is certainly a tough start for the new head coach.

Tough one at wimbledon, drew 0-0 at home and comfortably the best side we’ve played at field mill this season, they could’ve won that game really.

Not going myself due to overtime at work, but we’d sold the original 700 and requested more, which is a great effort.

As said on the other thread apart from wimbledon our fixtures are “kinder” next month, so a point wouldn’t be bad, though of course depends on what happens against sutton at home tuesday.

Wimbledon away is certainly a tough fixture when they have Al-Hamadi.

Impressed with the new stadium and great when the away end is sold out.

Started the away game at Barrow looking like potential champions, finished it clinging on and we’ve never really looked the same since.

Got battered 3-0 the last time they came to ML in one of the low points of our time in non league, good that Maynard will have a full week’s preparation and hopefully a couple of new players.

Shy did you go for Maynard? I’ve never heard of him and looking at his record at Wealdstone isn’t great. Am I missing something?

On the surface, from a distance it looks a strange one. His W/D/L record is no great shake, he's at a NL mid-table side and he's not even full time FFS.

However look under the surface and what he achieved with a miniscule comparative budget, how his team's play it all makes sense. He should be naturally delighted and rightly so after he raved about Notts as a team and club following some hefty defeats to the magpies.

Unglamorous, big step up, big risk but right age profile, same playing style as previous two head coaches, punched above his weight and above all our owners and recruitment radar has been impressing both in terms of head coach and player appointments which gives plenty of confidence. They are very thorough if not exactly media friendly.

Above all he's not a rinse and repeat, seen it all before old school manager that has failed so many other places but still gets a job based on historic reputation of a good season or two. I've seen plenty of them at the Lane and thankfully not happening under these owners.

I’m not knocking as I know nothing about him. Flynn got 2 jobs - Walsall and us - by doing a supposed decent job at Newport with tiny resources.

Not many do tbh including our fans, and nor should you as he's very much Non-League. Not many, if any, knew Luke Williams and look what he did and where he is now.

He's a risk and I'd be a little surprised if the owners got it right a 3rd time.

Fortunately for you Al Hamadi will still be at the Asia cup. Our other forward Bugiel might be back for the game depending on how Lebanon get on tomorrow. We've brought a couple of player's in so you never know. I'd expect you to get a point at least.

We’ve noted they’ve not shown it, sky don’t have it on either, almost like the game doesn’t exist.

Mind, can’t imagine many neutrals being excited by it.

I know him as a manager due to our time there and I think it's baffling. Never coached in a full time set up in his whole life. Now he's the head coach of Notts County.

He didn't even get Wealdstone up, the guy at Barnet did.

From an outsider it just seems a high risk appointment - especially for a club on the way up
