On first view I thought the first Tranmere red card was harsh, but having seen it again, i think it’s a red. He did take the ball but it was so reckless and so high with his follow through, could easily snap someone’s leg doing that. I’d be shocked if Tranmere even appeal it and even more shocked if they got it overturned.

The second one, he’s booted him in the face and that’s what the referee has saw, but I feel a bit for him as he had no idea our player was there. Totally accidental.

On the Macdonald challenge, I remain unsure. Disagree with your manager that it was a terrible challenge, it was a genuine, successful attempt to win the ball, but there were enough elements there to put a red into the equation and I don't think it will be overturned. While it could have caused a serious injury, in reality it didn't and I think Mellor's theatrics exaggerating the extent of it were a factor in the melee that followed. However the referee should have shown the red as soon as Mellor was getting treated, the delay added to what followed.

How often does a red card get shown for a high boot? I have no issue with an official making it one of their red lines, but about ten minutes previous, Chris Merrie got a boot in the head from a high foot and all we got was a free-kick, don't even think the Carlisle player was cautioned. Think it was more obvious to him that another player was there, than it was to Morris. I don't like using the cheat word for referees but the way Mr Breakspear handled the two incidents so differently leads to questions about his integrity or competence.

Seems I missed the pile on, shame.

Great turnout from Mansfield though, 11 home league wins in a row and still only 5,700 home fans and massive blocks of empty seats. Thought it was going to be a home sell out?

I noticed you didn’t disagree with anything, obviously you felt the standard football fan urge to have a go back and I don’t blame you

When we’re well beaten on the pitch I’ll say.

The stuff about numbers and things, ours were poor but you were nowhere near selling out which is equally as poor, but they’re expensive days out and if people can’t afford it in the current climate then who am I to judge. Was planning to go to Oldham on good Friday but I think after yesterday I’ll save my £100 and ifollow it.

It’s a weird one because I expected more home and away fans but I know if it was at Northampton, 2k plus easily (if the allocation permits it) but you do get those odd games where the turnout is weird.

It may just be a cost thing, which is always fair enough considering how things are currently.

It's a shame about the crowd, I was hoping for a big one with the magnitude of the game, Can't see us getting 7k in unless we get promoted before the final game now as Sutton, Crawley, Stevenage and Forest Green won't bring as many put together as what Northampton did yesterday I'm sure.

Big win though, Northamptons keeper really impressive, we should've had more

I think we all thought it would be higher in honesty, still it wasn’t that bad and about par with what northampton would have got for the game.

Agree about the keeper though, we’ve got to score more goals with the chance we create

We seem to be our own worst enemies regarding getting a big crowd ,poor ticketing ,sag closing half the blocks ,poor access the list goes on ,if we go up Sharpe needs an assistant this summer

Zero effort from us today, Lee has us setup in a crap formation that doesn’t work for the players we have but that doesn’t excuse the players total lack of effort.

Don’t expect any favours from us for the rest of the season, we’ve downed tools.
Shocking performance today.
We've had a good season, but it's in danger of unravelling.
I can understand players being tired, but to suddenly down tools is out of order, the fans deserve better.
Too young lads in White & Fletcher getting pelters, while more senior pro's won't even need their kit washing after that.
I can put up with crap players, but not lack of effort.
Lee sounded seriously pissed off in his post match interview.

With regards to all the attendance stuff being thrown our way. We have been particularly poor this season for it but as many have commented, I think despite our league position what is on offer is just not very appealing to go and watch. In general our club sees poor fan support considering the size of the area, but as I have touched upon previously, there is a level of fatigue of going up and seeing our team get trounced each week which without doubt this side would do.

Mansfield comfortably better than us as expected and if it was not for Liam Roberts in goal who is one of our best 3 players of the season it would have been plenty more. Think they definitely have a shop at top 3, for us I see us finishing around 7th.

Just the lack of interest in attempting to put together any patterns of play is infuriating. The squad is extremely unbalanced and TBH as much as i liked Brady to start with its frustrating me we have not developed at all as the season has progressed. Happy to give him another season of course but I expect some progression next year which likely will be in L2.

Hartlepool support holding up very impressively indeed considering some of the frustrating stuff that's been served up in the last few months of league matches. There was a time in the dim and distant past (2021) when our home record was among the best in the country/continent/solar system. That seems a long time ago. Luke Molyneux was the last Pools player to score the opening goal in a home league game for us. That was in September!

Looking at the attendance figures it is abundantly clear that FGR are punching well above their weight and club will probably not be able to sustain a long term position in the EFL. Especially now that their main sponsor Ecotricity is being sold.
But if that be the case the fans must relish what the club has achieved in the past five or more years.

Salfords average will be propped up by the likes of Tranmere, Bradford and soon to be ourselves etc bringing over 1000 away fans. If not for that you’re looking at approximately 1500 as an average for home support which to me is low even for a sixth tier club.

Excellent result for us on Saturday. That is a game that a year ago we absolutely would have lost against a fired up Barrow team. Goes to show the growth of this squad under DC and Crosby we can tough out these sort of games now.

Dont suppose you have one with away fans not included?
Alas no.
However the other EFL2 site has an active thread: "League 2 Away Support Thread"
http://www.http://www.onefootballforum.co.uk/threads/league-2-away-support-thread.279772/
That might help out.

Yup,typical Pools.
At long last playing great attacking football, winning week in,week out & we couldn't go due to Covid.
Just bloody typical.

Surprised Mansfield's isn't more with them flying the last few months.

Considering the fact it’s a average over the season surely you need to consider we went without a win for ages and was in the bottom two. We’ll end up comfortably over 5k and that’s what I’d expect from a weird season like this. From our perspective crowds have generally increased year or year for a while now so it’s all good.
