Seems crazy playing it for 10k! Win a paint pot pizza cup tie instead and take the 10k for that!
Got to say, I was gobsmacked when I heard that’s all we get.

After that embarrassing ending at vale I'm really regretting arranging to go to barrow, on the plus side they'll probably be less racist than the vale fans so that's something.

Hard to care after that capitulation

You mean Vale fan… 99.9% condemned it and have had loads including myself message Vigouroux in support.

It’s like tarring the Orient fans as being racist because of this:

We had a fan racially abuse a Northampton player in the EFL Trophy a few weeks back, luckily they were identified and banned.

Unfortunately it seems you get a very small minority of racist morons at every club.

Seems to be stories about players getting abuse both online and at stadiums every week at the minute.

Away to Newport. Must be 40 years or more since we won there
Newport away!

Seem to have a poor record against them, and Flynn has just walked.

Injured players are starting to become available again, which is pleasing. Adam’s opted for Songo’o at centre-half at the weekend, and he did alright.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Oscar Threlkeld
CB: Yann Songo’o
CB: Paudie O’Connor
LB: Liam Ridehalgh

CM: Elliott Watt
CM: Levi Sutton

RW: Alex Gilliead
CAM: Callum Cooke
LW: Charles Vernam

CF: Andy Cook

1-1 (500 City)

Must be 40 years or more since we beat Newport away, not that we've played them much.

I remember their old ground, Somerton Park, being the worst Ive ever visited in the Football League, disused speedway track around it, was a right old dump.

Interesting looking game at the Lane on Saturday. We seem to be adjusting to life at this level now after a few weeks finding our feet.

Our record in the last 5 games has been won 4 lost 1 (the one being the only game of the 5 I attended. Good news Vale fans, I’m there on Saturday).

Opposition wise Vale are our toughest challenge on paper, and we’ll need to be at our best to get anything.

Colin Murray and the Quest team will also be there on Saturday.

Paul Smyth has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad, so won't be Barrowing on Saturday.

There has been no confirmation if our two Cypriot players have been called up to the Cyprus U21 squad again - This is now leading to us all thinking if Saturdays game will go ahead or not because if they're both called up as they both have been in the past, then we can have the game called off.

We'll likely find out the answers after our game at Crawley tomorrow night.

Does it not require agreement by both sides? Can't see us wanting to postpone at short notice.

Wouldn’t be at all surprised if we got beat off Bristol Rovers, but they are down there with us for a reason so can also see it being a stinking low quality draw similar to our game with Scunthorpe a few weeks back. Depends how bad Bristol are really, if they are a bit better than Scunthorpe were they should have just about enough to beat us.

One thing is for sure, our performance will be terrible. We have been shockingly shit for over a month now and I can’t see that changing on Saturday with Beech still in charge. Hopefully the Penny will finally drop that they need to sack him to save our season.

Change it to the forest green badge as they have won the league already. We won't score enough goals to make the top 3. Play offs is the best bet for us.
Yeah, but ours is a bamboo raft with raffia sails hand-woven by an Amazon Indian basket makers' co-op.

People do recover from ‘flu you know. He might be ok by Saturday. Unless of course it’s man ‘flu then he’ll be out for ages.
Yea, I know. Just saying he may not be available and it's why he wasn't available on Saturday, jeez. Your post just seemed like you thought he wasn't given a start randomly by King Matt.

We are really bad, home and away. Apart from a couple of 45 minutes in different games it's been shocking.
We have no threat up front, OAPS in the middle of the pitch and a defence that will give you chance after chance.

Don’t know how you got the impression I thought KMT had randomly left him out the previous game. Where did I say anything like that?

Was just saying it would be good if he and Collins could start the upcoming game at Stevenage. Nothing to do with the team Taylor picked vs Walsall.

You said it would be good if he could mix things up a bit by starting him. I was just politely pointing out he probably would've started anyway if he didn't have the flu and why he might not be able to 'mix things up' with him on Saturday because he is still poorly. Blimey, argumentative for the sake of arguing or what.

It’s common knowledge that man flu is 10 times worse than covid

Confirmed tonight we're heading to Barrow and no more of our players have had International Call Ups.

The last sentence of the above post is one of the most hypocritical things I have ever seen written.
No it's not. 9 times out of 10 I get a reply, no matter how genuine and football related it is, I get called a 'tory wanker' see LOFC for details. I don't agree with most on here politically. Cry me a river. I don't care. Its like you, you're a minority in Grimsby. So what. Least you know where I stand and I've made it clear - never the less it is tiresome when everything I post, no matter how irrelevant it is to politics...now results in middle class white folk chirping up and piling on me. I made a genuine post trying to explain something football related about our player having the flu. You lot need to give it a rest and vote more. Might win more then lol. But seriously, can we try not to troll every single post I make? Be muchly appreciated. You don't need any more echo Chambers to inflate your minority supported egos.

For the sake of attempting to get a thread on this forum back to discussing about football, FGR fans what kind of football do you play under your new manager? Clearly it's effective given the start you have made to the season.

As you know we have 5 away on international duty the main miss being Wollacott and Kessler-Hayden. The first 11 should be decent but we may need a couple of youths on the bench. If you press us high up the pitch we'll be in for a game, if not, expect us to dictate play without creating masses of chances.

Sold out the away allocation for Saturday at Sutton anyway. Good news is it’s an internationals weekend so can at least watch it on iFollow (shows how much I care about international football as didn’t even realise it was one until now).

Same set of players that took FGR to play-offs last season but far more adventurous than under Cooper.
Every game is a treat to watch, free flowing with both goalkeepers earning their money.
FGR lost leading goalscorer Aaron Collins to Bristol Rovers in the summer but now the goals are being shared out amongst the team.
We expect Matt and Stevens to start game and they are potential biggest threat to Swindon.
The defence is holding fast although it does give supporters heart stopping moments. A clinical attacker could quite easily have put a few goals in back of FGR net.

Away at Rochdale. I cant be bothered to check but this might be a first...nah. Can't be.

So many injuries. So many half fit players. Toss up for a starting eleven and formation but one bright bit of news is Nadersan is back from suspension...in time to get injured the way our luck is running.

Available on iFollow but I'm stuck at work. Shift work is horrible but that rent won't pay itself.

Casey
Played twice before last time we were in L2 in 13/14. We won both scoring 4 in each so easy to forget for Crawley fans ;).

Crawley have started well. We’re not great at home and our last 3 league performances have been sub par. So I’m hoping Stockdale gives the players a kick up the arsed and we get a decent result. Not expecting, but hoping.

Largely agree, except that we now have a midfield, with the addition of Stevenson and Hendry, plus to a degree Edwards and Diallo when they get a chance to play, plus Adams plays further forward where he can do more damage.

We look entirely different to last season, at times we get fast flowing and attacking football, that is easy on the eye...no more ponderous, play it around to a point where the opposition drift off due to boredom, Cooperball.

Salvador: the way our defending is going right now another foal (eh four) goal feast is on the cards.

We are capable of good wins and bad losses (mid table). We are having injury problems in defence ...well, all season really so I'm never confident we can keep a clean sheet but our forwards do seem to be able to score a goal or two.

Could be a good game!

I'm stuck at work depending on how much work I've got on will depend on whether I watch or not. My boss does say if I'm not doing the work of two men I'm not working hard enough so not much hope really.

I think when you played vale it was just one of those days. Nothing you did quite worked out and in the end we saw the game out quite comfortably.

Always see Forest Green as one of the better footballing sides in the division but as you said, in previous years it was death by passing around the back.

I've always liked Matt, I think he's a real presence and he's obviously helping you by acting as a focal point rather than attacks drifting. Fair play for your start to the season, I honestly didn't see it after you'd played us.
