Fair play to Vale, they’ve piled the pressure on here and we’ve cracked.

Daylight robbery that. Referee exceptionally poor. Gotta score from 32 shots, though.

Strange old game that. 80 minutes we were a complete trainwreck. Somehow we found some pace to our game in the last ten and perhaps could well have won it. Given how dire it was at 2-0 will take a draw and on to Cambridge.

Rescued the first half damage and a wonder save from winning it at the end but frustrated we’ve got into that position to need to in the first place with the amount of play we had.

That said it’s a huge point in the end and the difference between 1 and 4 point gap to the bottom 4.

What a ridiculous scoreline! Think it was something like 20 or so shots faced in the 2nd half. But all that matters is the scoreline. Could never see that result coming, to win AND keep a clean sheet against that Ipswich strike force. Cracking!!

My god this last 10-11 days has been a massive anti climax. We were looking really promising then no goals scored in last 3 games brings us crashing down to earth. Plenty of time left and thankfully we can defend but we need to start scoring

Performance of the season from us to beat Posh 3-1, although we beat Barnsley 3-0 I think they must have just had an off day, so to me that's our first result of any team of quality (who were actually playing to their potential) this season.

Posh had plenty of dangerous options in attack and a solid defence, and probably shaded the first half even though we equalised just before the break.

But we weathered the pressure the better, and stepped up a gear in the second half. The third goal was a peach, as the Posh keeper came up in extra time as they had a corner, looking for the equaliser...except they fucked it up, it was easily cleared, and we scored on the counter.

Not that all Posh fans are bitter that we got promoted to the Championship that time ahead of them, but for any that were, two words:

Stitch that.

Anyway. Objectively, one swallow does not make a summer and all that, but really I think that's the first game all season in which we've genuinely played to our potential. Still don't think we'll reach the playoffs with such a crap start, but if only we played like that all the time...

Not sure why we thought we could try and sit back and soak up pressure/try and kill the game. We’ve got the worst defensive record in the entire football league for a reason, so that obviously was never likely to work. Poor tactics from Burchnall.

Another decent win on the road and we move up to 8th place and out the play off places on goal difference.

As expected, Fleetwood were much better second half. They hit the crossbar a couple of times and tested Marosi, although nothing too difficult. We should have wrapped it up on the break but hit the woodwork ourselves through Shipley. Game become very feisty at the end and 9 bookings shown overall!

Onto Charlton at home next Saturday!

As unbelievable as those stats are that was an incredible away backs to the wall second half from Lincoln. Paid the price for that flat first half. Tough one up next too

Agreed! Watched the first half only on a dodgy stream, and it only the last 10 minutes of the half you started to put us under a little pressure. Couldn't watch the 2nd half but expected you to come on strong.

Those stats from the Ipswich v Lincoln game are incredible. Take it the Lincoln keeper is making team of the week then?

On another day we score 5 - far too often we sent shots sailing over the bar.

As for the Lincoln keeper, he certainly should have made the referees notebook! He had no interest in playing the game from the first to the last whistle.

Only chance we have got of winning. Down to the ref to clamp down on timewasting.

Oddly it took nearly two minutes to take our penalty after the decision! Their keeper booked for time wasting which is nuts when we’re going to take the penalty anyway!

I thought we were dreadful today. No urgency, no pace. Just poor. With the greatest respect in the world, Forest Green looked terrible...two goals off set pieces and playing against a side that was performing poorly. They should have beaten us easily. To be honest, they were on a Stevenage level of time wasting, which I didn't expect from them. We need to beat teams of that standard at home. 159 fans as well..I realise you're a small team but come on?

Yeah all it did was give us some impetus which never looked like coming otherwise. After Mipo pulled one back I did always feel we’d get at least a chance to score.

What I don’t get is Vale and FGR are familiar with each other as opponents. We know that we’ve had joy in the past by pressing and forcing errors and yet looked so lethargic at that today. I don’t know if that was a tactical thing from DC or the players just weren’t up for it, I suspect the latter as the other basics we were shocking at too.

Probably not, only 5 on target from 32 :ffs:

Their whole defence should though
Yeah was about to say, 5/33 shots on target is awful. These games happen though, reminds me of that famous Barcelona Vs Celtic stats!

Unusual to see us timewaste tbh, although hard to know if that’s what Burchnall wants from his teams as we’ve rarely been ahead in games under him. Not a fan of it.

159 isn’t much different to what we normally bring to yours I don’t think?

We get it, we are utter crap and have a terrible manager!

Our way support has been very decent for us this year, 159 isn’t great for us, but watching utter rubbish week in week out takes its toll!

When Accrington / Fleetwood etc bring less than 100 fans, people like you say what a great effort it is fir a small club in these hard economic times. Seems different with FGR for some reason.

I think that might be the first time we have had a two goal lead in a league game this season...so perhaps we should be forgiven for not having enough experience to defend it. Frustrating as hell though, at least we have an easy home game next Saturday to look forward to...or maybe not, we are playing Pompey!

Very true, I was one of the 202 who went to see us play against Charlton on a wet Tuesday evening last month...when ironically we didn't play too badly.

Yep Pompey next, then Fleetwood and Barnsley away. Seems to be a tough game every week.

When are we finally going to get some easier games? Oh wait no, just remembered we’ve just recently played Morecambe and Burton. And lost both. Never mind.

I get that you've been poor this season, but we were an absolute sitting duck today. Our performance for 75 minutes was an absolute car crash and I didn't get out of my seat for either goal. You really had to take advantage today but when around 4 or 5 of your players go down, slapping the ground as though they'd had a significant leg break, you got your just desserts. I understand sportsmanship and running down the clock but it was frankly disgraceful.

It's a game that if we go down, we'll regret not taking maximum points from.

In terms of fans, I appreciate that you're not a well supported team, particularly away from home, but how is that sustainable in the long term? There are teams at the level below the conference who would take more than that.

Our away support is fantastic compared to our home gates.

I will say it again, where is your energy for the likes of Accrington, Fleetwood and Morecambe? All these clubs have worse away support than FGR.
