Surprised at how dire Altrincham have sounded. They usually make things so difficult for us.

Finished 2-0. Sounded like a decent performance, needed that, first away win since October.

I suppose Grimsby owed us that after last August's fiasco

Solid 1-0 win for us. 12 points from 15.

Looking at the table and todays results, Lincoln, Bromley and Braintree not really in contention for playoffs now.

That's the worst Macc performance I've had to endure for a long time.

2 wins in 2 and we actually beat a side in the top half!! Think this season will fade into mid-table obscurity but nice to have something to cheer about for the first time in months.

I've been thinking for a couple of months now that we're doomed. 1 goal and 1 point in the last six league games.

Lincoln are a worse team than us, that is some feat let me tell you.

Excellent performance and arguably our best of the season. We could have easily had 5 or 6!

Probably a fair point between us and Southport in the end, bit frustrated we didn't win as Southport seemed to only give it a go in the first half and then looked content enough with a point after that.

Five straight away games for us now.

Really quite disappointed with that result as Gateshead didn't really offer much. The first was a set piece (which we have been vulnerable at all season), and was the first time they'd been near our box. The second was a counter and easy finish. We faffed around in their final third too many times, not getting shots away. Gateshead were solid throughout and crowded out our attack on numerous occasions.

Performance wise we were at the races for the first 55 minutes, but lost it after the second goal as the visitors slowed the game down. Unfortunately results are what is important now and today's have gone fairly badly for us (although Eastleigh equalising late helps).

And to top it off, Simon Heslop bangs in a worldie. It was only a few weeks ago he missed a bloody sitter. It's this kind of thing that makes me think we're screwed.

Big win for us at Aylesbury 4-2 final score. Went 2-0 up and looked in control, could have apparently had a number of penalties but went in at the half 2-1 after conceding from a corner. Second half we went 3-1 up and then surrendered control somewhat, though it took them until about 85 mins to get it to 3-2 and start making it nervy, and that was a bad goal to concede. We calmed the nerves with an injury time sealing goal though, and then they topped it off by getting a stupid red card right at the death.

Crucially two of our three main title rivals dropped points, including Egham, the team that could have gone ahead from winning games in hand. Now we're completely in control of our own fate... At the start of the season I really didn't expect us to be in this position towards the end of January! 16 games to go...

He really wasn't thattt bad. Arthur sending off was harsh IMO, but it certainly wasn't a ridiculous decision. Sole should have 100% walked for the afters mind.

He gave a few baffling 50/50 decisions but all your other bookings were absolutely nailed on.

Goddard got away with going down like he'd been shot at EVERY opportunity, but like I say ref's aren't perfect at this level but he wasn't utterly dreadful as (I have to say, one of the least knowledgeable crowds I've ever been in) made out.

Alty just denied a stone wall penalty. Seems having shit refs isn't all bad.
They should have had one in the first half as well, Pearson trying to swap shirts with Rankine during the match!
Alty tried their best to play football but once the 3rd went in they looked to give up and want to go home.
Despite the score though I've seen worse sides than them this season and I think they'll just be ok.
Strange ending, we scored in injury time but still had time to miss 2 fantastic chances after that

The fact all 10 of your outfield players surrounded the ref like little baby's as soon as the tackle didn't exactly help.

Probably a decent point for both teams in the circumstances though.

You looked 100x better than in October at the Shay - although that's not exactly difficult. Let's hope we do you a favour and beat Alty on Tuesday.

Anyhow onto the game...

We came out of the blocks really well and Woking probably didn't complete a pass until 5 or so minutes in. After that, Woking settled in to their rhythm and looked a very good passing side. Then the sending off happened (as I've said earlier harsh, but 1 Woking player had to go). They then scored a good goal after a decent counter.

From then on we had a lot of possession and huffed and puffed before Walker put away an excellent free kick. We then had our best spell of the game and could have got another. Second half was again, we had the possession with Woking looking good on the break. Woking hit the bar and both sides could have snatched a winner. Peniket missed a gilt-edged chance in stoppage time but it would have been hugely unfair on Woking to lose that game.

Goddard and the left back Norman(?) hit the deck at every opportunity, which was frustrating as Goddard's clearly got talent . Woking's build up play was also usually all in vain as Quigley was the definition of a useless big lump. Very odd crowd at Kingfield with a eclectic mix of the elderly and wannabe thug, but everyone I spoke to was decent enough.

Good point, unbeaten run continues.

Away table top 3..

1. Cheltenham 14 8 5 1 28:10 29
2. Eastleigh 14 7 5 2 26:16 26
3. Tranmere 16 6 7 3 23:19 25

If only Prenton Park wasn't such a hostile place for our players...

Top of the league! (For around 20 hours)
New boy Moore had a great game and deserved his MoM, maybe just ahead of Clough. Braintree had a good shape I thought and you can see why they travel well (also only way they get a game on of course).
Fan of Sinclair but wish he'd pass it forward more, always seems to go back or sideways.

No complaints about the score, a point apiece was a fair reflection of the game. No real complaints about the sending-off either - it could have been just a yellow, but the ref was entitled to show a red. However, the cynical behaviour of the Halifax players after the foul should be a source of embarrassment to everybody connected with the club. Ten players surrounding the ref (at least the goalkeeper didn't join in, I suppose) to pressurise him into sending the player off was horrible to watch.
