Most of the bottom lot decided to win yesterday, carlisle dropping into the bottom 2.

Not a good day for carlisle, tranmere and dagenham. Hartlepool only 6 adrift..

Carlisle vs cheltenham on Tuesday is a pretty big game.

Looks like you've got 1 from york, tranmere, carlisle or Cheltenham plus hartlepool.

York are 2 clear of the relegation zone on 36 in 19th, with us in 18th on 42.

The fear of what lies down in the conference seems to be sending them all into a frenzy, am hopeful we should be alright now

I can't remember how many times we all said 'Rovers should be safe now' last season lol.

I actually think it was 8 games left with 8 points clear and we still blew it! Shame apart from Cheltenham that they're all northern. Don't want Tranmere down here though

Not pre-empting owt for us or being sly about anyone else but if we're to stay in the Conference next season it should be a more enjoyable league for us.

Big opposition to play against in Tranmere and Hartlepool, then Barrow might be an interesting one, and one or Guiseley or Chorley would admittedly be good oppo too if either of them manage promotion. None major, but I'd look forward to playing them more than Nuneaton or Teflon.

But the big deal would be us playing York next season. If that happens in any way it'd be absolute class. Would really liven things up for us. They're one of several traditional rivals for the Shaymen and we haven't shared a league with any of them since reformation. The Conference team our fans get the most feisty over currently is Chester and that's pretty minor.

At least the chances of two more northern teams coming down are better.

I can't remember the last time we played Tranmere apart from playing their reserves on the way to winning our County Cup 2 years ago. It must be decades ago. I think Hartlepool look doomed, but I couldn't guess who the other one will be. Just doubt it'll be Carlisle. Still hurts when I remember them beating us 1-0 at the Deva with 9 men on the pitch in 2010 the year we first came into this league.

I don't think Chester could have played Tranmere in the league since the 1980s as Tranmere were in the second division from about 1990.

Nobody wants us up? Disappointed. :(

If we stay down then I'd like to see Bromley and Havant or Gosport go up. Bromley so we don't have to play them shits again. By the time we do go up, they'll be back down! I like Havant and Gosport as Clubs so will be good to see either of them in the Conference. Anyone but Boreham Wood and fucking Whitehawk anyway.

Dartford and Welling coming down will be huge for this league with Maidstone (and possibly Margate) coming up. I'd much rather us as far away as possible from these clubs though. I want Poole Town to come up though. That'll be a decent away day I reckon.

If we go up then obviously Bromley/Boreham Wood will win the league. Would like to see Hartlepool come down. And maybe Cheltenham.

Not going to join the debate re owners, as I've said all that needs to be said about us.

Potential for a cracking Conference South next season eh? That's the only reason I'd prefer you and Bromley to stay down, nothing personal!

Yeah, I can see it's nothing personal. There's potential for some massive crowds by Conference South standards next season if all goes the way people want it to.

Obviously I hope we get out ASAP and get back to playing the likes of Barrow and Wrexham!

24 years since we last played them.

Definitely don't want Tranmere to go down as another local side will end up with Wrexham, Chester, Stockport and Macc in the non league abyss. What is it with you incompetent sods depriving us of good local games?

Far better than going that Lego ground in Shrewsbury and going to tinpot Burton for sure.

You all looking forward to that trip to Hartlepool then?

There seems to be a few teams left behind in a bit of a scrap now, with Hartlepool, you've got one from Carlisle, York, Tranmere.

There are then sides 6 or 7 clear of that group of Mansfield, Cambridge, Dagenham and Oxford

Last time we played Hartlepool we were both battling at the top of L2 I think. 1-1, they got a last minute penalty because Nat Brown decided to handle it...

There was also an incredibly good looking policewoman outside the away end.

Could have done with you or Grimsby coming up really, the only local game we have in league 2 is Burton - who are currently top

Yeah, we had a situation 5 years or back where they were out closest as well (or maybe Bradford, thinking about it). Both games were always on Tuesday nights, too.

Maybe you should just come and join them! Either that or campaign for a League 2 North and South amalgamation with the conference!

Actually, I'd like Whitehawk from the Conference South. A weekend in Brighton would be excellent.

Looking forward to reigniting our rivalry with Chester and Wrexham next season! At least they'll be some benefits to relegation.

Ask me again this time next year when we've been trounced by both of them and are on our way to a third consecutive relegation and I might not be quite as positive.

If you do come down, I think playing you will be bigger for Chester/Wrexham fans than games between ourselves as everyone has just had enough of the ridiculous bubble situation - it's ruined the whole fixture.

And as you say, it's been a while. Since I've supported Chester you have always been well above us in the league so can't say I have much feeling towards Tranmere either way....looking forward to a trip to Prenton Park next season (hopefully).

I like Prenton Park. Going there in a league fixture for us was always unheard of. If we come up, then it's quite a possibility!

No offence Gas, but I hope you bottle it too. Would like to go to Rovers away should we come up.

I'm fed up of Basingstoke away.

Wouldn't be too surprised to see similar procedures put in place if we played you/Wrexham. Last time we played Wrexham away in a preseason game everyone was held in the train station then kettled to and from the game by a police escort. And if I remember, there was still trouble once they got to the station on the way back. If they do that for a few hundred going to a meaningless pre season game I'm sure they'd be even more stringent for a league fixture.

Don't care who we play, as long as they don't have huge wads of cash or that they're not too far into Mordor (aka beyond Birmingham)

Down: Ideally I'd have any 2 of Daggers/Cambridge/Cheltenham/Oxford. Won't happen though, so I'll take anyone but Carlise and Hartlepool please.

Up (South): Bromley and Boreham Wood would be quite good. Could do without Bromley's trouble making fans though, and I'm a bit fed up of matches down in the South East of London.
Up (North): God, not much choice here. I'd take Tamworth and... Oxford City? Anyone but Barrow or Fylde. Hednesford would be ok at a stretch.

You know it's looking increasingly likely you'll get Hartlepool, Carlisle, Barrow AND Fylde right? :p

Don't worry though, I'm sure you'll get promoted yourselves.

I know, I'm in denial though. If (lol who am I kidding) we stay down there's some monster away trips next season most likely.
