Tranmere meaning crazy legs crane in Norsk
The poor mans liverbird
Incidentally Butthead, how is it even possible to a normal mind to claim a living creature is a poor mans version of a couple of statues. Do they have an education system where you live or do you just watch Fred Dibnah and Peter Kay videos and assume that is real life.

I reckon more people worldwide know cranes exist than know about the Liver Birds, but who am I to argue?

He has disappeared off the thread. Always does when you use big words. Two and three syllable words scare him.

Don't know much about cranes or liver birds. Are either likely to finish in top 7 of div 2?

Cranes are birds or lifting devices. Liver Birds are mythical creatures that two copper statues on a building are based on. No they aren't.

The Scottish Champ must be an horrendous league. The Scottish Prem consists of average talent poached directly from the National League.

Its on tv sometimes. It is like watching bad National League football. The fact that Welsh and Irish clubs have regularly beaten clubs from that division in The challenge cup they have says it all. Notts County would have won that this season if they had wanted it.

But what have they to do with the top 7 of league 2?

Strange to think teams such as Hearts and Dundee United, maybe even Hibs got relegated into it.

Almost as unthinkable as yourselves being in the Conference ten years ago! At least you got your most famous win out of it

At least half of the Scottish League clubs would struggle in the NLN. A lot wouldnt get in on ground standards. Its on a par with the Welsh Premier League mostly. Almost every club from League 1 and 2 would be top level clubs in 4 years. Championship and above would be European regulars.

Have you ever got an original thought in that bonehead of yours. Just because somebody answers a question to a post that isn't yours doesn't mean its not a response. I am 100% certain you have got no friends. You are too much of a prick.

Yes i know dickhead because i am the one who explained it. Are you really as thick as you appear to be. It seems almost impossible for you to be that way. You really give a poor impression of what the level of intelligence is like in Bolton.

you will always be a plastic Bolton hating woolyback.
So Wally from Wallasey give it your best

Forest Green sounds like it should be a drug that Dale Vince smokes.
There is a beautiful village in Surrey with that name.
Some years ago a supporter's coach for one of FGR's opponents mistakenly turned up there to watch a game.

Slightly back on subject but I have just noticed that Tranmere has an affinity to teams from Gloucestershire:
  • In 2015 Tranmere were relegated to the NL alongside Cheltenham [Gloucestershire]
  • In 2017 Tranmere were Wembley promotion finalist against FGR [Gloucestershire]
  • In 2019 Tranmere secured promotion to EFL 1 via play-offs by beating FGR [Gloucestershire]
  • 2021 Tranmere are one of the firm favourites for promotion alongside Cheltenham [Gloucestershire] & FGR [Gloucestershire].
I would be happy if that affinity remains solid for rest of season and all three of our teams are promoted.

Similarish I guess in 89/90 Grimsby Southend and Cambridge were all promoted together to Division 3 then the next season all 3 were promoted together again to Division 2.
I can’t remember any other instances of 3 teams all achieving back to back promotions together.

A lot of clubs once had names that were more appropriate for when they competed in local leagues against teams from the same city. We were called Shaddongate United, which made sense when we were just one of a few Carlisle clubs and competed against other clubs from other parts of the city. We changed our name to Carlisle United in an attempt to represent the city in regional leagues, feeling it would increase our chances of getting accepted. I'm sure a lot of clubs are the same, but others line Tranmere and Port Vale never did that. FGR did change their name to Stroud FC once, but it didn't last long.

We started life as Belmont fc back in 1884.
