I cannot understand how anyone could predict that we’ll drop out of the top 7, we had over 60% possession again today, keep doing that and we’ll have a combined 360% possession over our remaining 6 games.

Yes we aren’t scoring and keep conceding soft goals, but having that much of the ball surely means we’ll win again at some point.
Chris, our problem is that FGR don't have an old fashioned big bulky centre forward goal machine.
We have small but clever players who can run rings around our opponents but cannot shoot straight.
The loss of Matt has really, really hurt the team as recent results are showing.

Our top league scorer is on 8 goals for the season.

Imagine how comfortable we'd be if we had a decent striker.

Goals scored by Cheltenham seem to be evenly shared out.
BTW your top scorer has 10 goals and not 8.

Going back some time there was maybe half a dozen Tranmere posters here
plus the one dickhead.
We can see you peeking in the corner

just think where you would be without Tozer................................Mid table at best
It's hardly remarkable that if you took away one of their main sources of assists they'd be worse off for it, the fact that he gets his assists via throw-ins seems to wind a few people up but it's a perfectly legitimate tactic. Where would Bolton be without Doyle?

Wasn’t sure that we were over reliant on Matt, he still needed chances creating for him but since he’s been out it’s become pretty clear that without him we’re pretty much a mid table side. Never thought we were top 3 squad wise tbh so not massively surprised at our form dropping off.

This season we would be bottom half without Doyle.....A decent forward in lge 2 is easy to find
Someone like worrell or Tozer less so.

A decent forward in league 2 is not that easy to find, how many get 20+ goals?

nearly every forward in lge 2 is capable of getting 20+ goals
why because the defences are piss poor

Very few forwards in lge 2 would get 10 goals in lge 1.... The is at least 6 forwards in lge 1 who would get 30+ goals in lge 2. This is a rank bad league

If it’s such a rank bad league, how come a side like us, who are no mugs, are bottom of the form table?

Even Walsall yesterday, who had 1 win in 20 but looked a decent well organised side who punished our mistakes. It obviously isn’t as good as league 1 but it’s not a terrible leave by any stretch.

there's plenty of long throw specialists knocking about, we have three of them and have scored more goals from throw-ins than Cheltenham.

Because your no mug team are just that.......you relied on one player who got injured and you now are bang average at best.
Tranmere the same. without Vaughan
Bolton without Doyle
Cambridge without Mullin/Hoolihan

Cheltenham deserve to win the league but will return here next may......This league is awful

Wait a minute - I've been led to believe that all 54 of our goals have come from throw-ins. Are you telling me all of Carlisle's 55 goals have been throw-ins??

Yes you are another team that are bang average......Harrogate had one yesterday. They outplayed us first 15 went one up and then conned the ref and wasted time. Throwing long throws into our area
Awful to watch why they could not repeat there first 15 i do not know.

I think the wage cap has had a big impact this season. I think the overall standard is a lot better than when we were last in this division, with very little between the majority of sides, but there are not many (if any) standout teams like Lincoln and Bury in the 2018-19 season.

It's wrong.
It is indeed.
May has actually scored 12 goals this season and not 10.

However I was correct in posting actual figure from the website and you were partly correct in claiming May had only scored 8.
A score draw to both of us will suffice.

I mean, Si was fully correct to say he's scored 8 League goals.

Don't confuse him, I already pointed out his 4 FA Cup goals in a previous post at 8:57 this morning:

We’ve won 6 in a row with less then 50% of the ball on all 6! Possession isn’t always the law.

I take it Ian Evatt considers himself above launching throw-ins into the box. Don't see why it's 'awful to watch' it's just another way of getting the ball into a dangerous area; kick it, throw it, head it, throw it to someone who then kicks it, the end result is the same. We're not average because we're throwing balls into the box, we're average because we're conceding too many and not scoring enough.

Advantages of the long throw are that you have an extra player in the box instead of having to have someone come to recieve the throw then cross it, also it catches teams out who think that putting the ball out for a throw will clear the danger. The only reason I think people associate the long throw with anti-football is because Stoke did it.

But he didn't.
He just said May had not scored 10 goals but 8.

I mean, I even linked the post to help you in my response to 99, but just to make it that little bit easier for you I shall quote the post for you below:

Not sure where you're getting 10 from, he's scored 8 league goals, and 4 FA Cup goals.

As you can see, I didn't just say what you posted I stated, quite clearly to anyone who can read, he's scored 8 league goals and 4 FA Cup goals.

the old 'this league is awful' line :woo: makes me chuckle, the 'big' clubs always like to state this fact.

Tozer would be playing in step 7 if it weren't for his throw. Shitehouse football.

Very true. We apparently had 65% possession in the 4-0 hammering at Cheltenham. It didn't feel like that and our first decent chance came around the 90th minute.

Hey i am not against it completly. The most creative skilful player to ever put a Bolton shirt on had a long throw to rival many but he was as likely to bend the ball into the top corner from 30 yards as he was to throw it in from 30 yards........but Ben Tozer is no JJ Okotcha
