We roll up to high flying Wigan with 7 points from 9 under Wilson and 11 goals in the proces,s meaning we are a completely different side under him so far.

This is a much tougher test though and we are with Aryibi who arguably has been our best player since Wilson took charge. Fully expect Gardener to replace him and that be our only change.

Think we will have a good following at this one, know loads going who don't usually bother getting 8.20 train from Manchester so should be a good day out. Like Wigan and there is a few good, cheap pubs so looking forward too it.

Would take a point right now though so will plump for 1-1 and 1200 odd rattling around in that away end.

Four of us on a Leo Sayer on an early train. Looking forward to it.

Tough one this. If someone offered me the draw I'd snatch their hand off

why not ? 15 points better off and a much stronger squad hardly impossible is it :bg1:
homecoming for Danny Wilson!
Wigan are favourites but the way we have stepped it up recently I don't think there will be a big margin either way. If I had to put a bet on this on I would probably lean towards the draw

i think that's coming from you're heart and not you're head! i think our firepower will be to much but anything can happen like Tuesday which i have still not got over!

Four weeks ago we'd no idea where our next goal was coming from, let alone our next point.

Yet here we are eleven goals and seven points better off.

Wigan are still big favourites - and so they should be with their wage bill - but we go to their's with a degree of hope instead of expecting an arse-kicking as we would've pre-Wilson.

We ought to have battered them in the home fixture but unfortunately the Saunders effect kicked in with fifteen minutes to go. After their midweek bottle job we have to fancy our chances. Hopefully Dan Gardner will be fired up again, I remember him being magnificent against Wigan. Remember that foul about 5 yards in the Wigan box the ref gave as a free kick?

It was an expected result against a side at the right end of the table but i was disappointed how easy we made it for them. Got off to a really poor start, conceding in the first 5 mins, credit to Power for a very good strike but the time and space we allowed him......not good. that seemed to be a theme in the first half, them often queuing up at the edge of the box to take shots and us not doing a lot to prevent it, which is also how the second came about, although this time with the aid of a slight deflection. Less than a minute later it was 3-0, we had totally gone to sleep and that was game over. We had our chances in-between but Wigan had been better and deserved the lead at half-time and i was a little worried we could take a pasting. Thankfully Wilson made a couple of changes which steadied the ship and shit, Ollie Banks even scored a goal, almost worth making the journey for that alone.

Dan Gardner is pretty average on a good day, play him in front of a right back who isn't really a right back and you're asking for trouble, Wigan saw that weakness straight away, hopefully Wilson will never be tempted to do that again. Ebanks-Banks did his usual trick of not a lot and i think Chris Herd is right up there as one of the worst players i've seen in a Town shirt, he's just totally gash and it's amazing to think he's played in the premier league. On the other hand i thought Novak did alright without much help and Charlie Raglan prevented the scoreline from being worse.

Good day out. To be truthfull I got steaming drunk & got lost taking a wrong turn & losing my mates for best part of an hour! Turned up at the pub just in time to see a decent punch landed on a loudmouth and the police steam in.

Good question. We went in a few. We left there and went in another that had the front door closed but we sneaked in with a friend of the landlady. We ended up getting started on by a local crack head type for looking at him. We left there too shortly afterwards!

I think we should rephrase the question to Why isn't he your icon?
I'm still mourning Jack Lester's release / retirement.

FWIW, Saturday was by far the worst I've ever seen Sam Morsy play. Not helped by being absolutely on his own in midfield :(

What away days are about :2thumb:

Enjoyed Wigan away myself, decent boozers in the town and cheapish beer.

The day was very good, the match was erm not so good apart from a decent sing song in the first half. I like Wigan as a town and a day out, some interesting charecters in some of boozers though.
