Just to give me an idea of how small that is for this level, what's the average club's budget and then what's Forest Green's?

Hmm...not exactly confirmed when the figure is just based on what you imagined the budget was last season.
There's little doubt it will be small compared to most, but you don't really know what the budget is.

Average I would guess is about £600k.

Not sure average is 600k, would think that would probably get you a top 8-10 budget? Tranmeres is supposedly 1.1 million this season

Just goes to show how inflated most teams at this level are above their worth. Ours is pretty much half that and we're a good yardstick, as we rely pretty much solely on our gates, of which we're probably 5th/6th in ranking.

There's probably only 8-10 teams with a £600k+ budget, but if you add up all the budgets and divide by 24 (mean average?) I bet it's not far off.

Ours is around £8-900k, possibly less.

Don't kid yourself, lad. Ours will be around that and you're paying significantly higher wages and will have a bigger squad than us.

Ours was £655k last season from what I've seen mentioned . That's just for the playing budget I think so the wages for Mills and Caskey will take overall budget over 700k I'd imagine

Probably around the 5/6th biggest budget last year I guess.

Ahh, budget talk. People arguing over made-up numbers and hearsay. One of my favourite topics.
Some clubs are discreet, others leak like a sieve. If, for example, the Aldershot manager writes in his programme notes at the end of the season that he's had a playing budget of £500k for the season, there isn't really much reason to doubt the figure.

If tranmere are really spending £1.1m that is surely completely unsustainable.

are there not rules about overspending and being bank rolled?

If it is 255k, then that is a very small budget. However, it is possible to still compete on that budget, ours was 220k (rose to 260k through the season) in 2014/15.

I think the median is a more representative figure than the average when comparing budgets in this case, and I would assume based on some knowledge and some calculated guessing it is around 400k.

In 2015 our wages were 268k with a turnover of 662k

I assume it will be well over 300k for the coming season.

I for one have not heard about this 1100000 budget i know season ticket sales have been good and the bars are all doing well , replica teamwear is not as shocking as last years and should sell better and quo and will young have just done a gig there.... But 1.1 million? Seems a lot.

Saying that i bet the freindly against liverpool will bring in 300k so yes maybs!

used to it - it seems to be Woking and FGR fans' topic of choice.

How's it our topic of choice? Other fans bring us into it by making false claims, our budget will be around 900k/ 1 million. Far lower than the hockaday days.

It said in the NLP the other day that our budget halved under Pennock. I heard it was something like 1.6m when Hockaday left.

So reckon that it was probably around 800k last season. Might be a bit more this year, but wont be the biggest in the league by any means.

Ours was always around the £1.2m mark at league level going to be a lot less than that now. I would guess about £800k given our gates will fall about a third.

We are in no way bankrolled. We get the biggest crowds in the league, make a lot of money from the suites on matchdays and now non matchdays, and we are still receiving parachute payments. 1.1 millions seems pretty fair all things considered.

We're expecting a loss of £500k on that, but that's because we have other things that are currently being invested in and renewed.

We signed a new shirt sponsorship deal with B and M Waste Management, which apparently gives us more per season than HomeBargains in every year of the 3 year term. (So, if we were in L1 in year 3, we'd get more than we got in L1 from HomeBargains in 2013/14). We've just signed a new 5 year kit supply deal with Puma and are very, very actively recruiting sponsors for everything from stands to the team sheet - even the centre circle has a sponsor next year!
On top of that, the recently renovated lounges and corporate facilities have taken off like wildfire - £300k to build, expected to bring in £500k from last season. There has been some talk that this could rise to £750k next year.
Added to that are the ST sales, which were tracking at 95% of last season's figure of roughly £550k/almost 3000 sold. The club hasn't been especially clear about which of those measures they are counting, but it still bodes well.
Then, you have to take into account the fact that we had, on average, a further 2000 people pay on the day and had the highest average attendances outside the Football League.

It's easy to see the £500k loss mark and think "Bloody hell, that's not sustainable", but the fact is we were making losses of close to £1m a year before the Palioses came in - and that was on turnover of roughly £4m. What the (not-so-new) owners have done in the short term they have been here is incredible. It's already been said that because of the things they have put in place, they can give us a top third budget in any league every year. So whilst if we stay here for a long time, it may fall a bit, it won't be much less than that. We won't stay in the state of chronic underinvestment we were in forever, and once that has been put right, we'll (hopefully) stop making losses.

As for the rules, I believe it is 60% of turnover in L2? Ours was nearer 40%. Even now, we're probably less than 50%. We're far more sustainable than many other clubs, both at this level and the levels above.

Palios told the Supporters Club directly at the Q + A it was £1.1m, according to those who went.

I can imagine ours will be similar to Woking's, as far as I know, nobody's specifically come out and said what ours will be.

We dont spend money on wages. People just want to play for us and do it for the love of our sexy football, glorious history and massive floodlights.

Apart from all those whole left in the last few weeks. Mercenaries.

Just to put this budget talk into perspective with what we are now competing against in League 2, Doncaster Rovers were relegated from League 1 last season with a budget of 4.5M and they have increased it for this season, holy shit! :eyes:
