My wife has never watched a football match. She doesn't like it. She thinks it's stupid.

She's got a point.

Does your wife watch Strictly Come Bake Off Factor by any chance?

No, not really. There are more ways to spend your free time than just football OR reality TV.

I'd feel bad taking her as I know she wouldn't be interested. It's probably for the best that she doesn't like football. If she knew anything about it she'd probably think I was crazy for spending all my time watching Step 9 football. As it is, Bracknell Town could be in the Premier League for all she knows.

Mrs Mnb's main hobby is fitness though. She is well fit bruv, innit. Last time we spent doing something together was a 10 mile cross country race. That was fun. She'd probably find watching Bracknell Town more arduous though, ESPECIALLY AFTER THE START TO THE SEASON WE'VE HAD!

My wife and I are both season ticket holders at Cambridge (my team and where we live) and priority members at Norwich (her team). We always go to football together, she loves going and it makes my life so much easier that she's into it!

This season is a disaster though, yesterday marked my 11th (and her 9th) game of the season. I've not seen a win since the opening day and she's not seen one at all. Depression is high in the Laker household presently.

We have a weekend away planned for next June. We're camping in a field in Aldermaston doing a 24 hour endurance relay race as part of a team of five. Hoping to personally hit 30 miles this year. Did it last year and it's a great race.

Spending 24 hours running alongside other people is a great way to spend your time. It's outdoors, in the fresh air, and enjoying the company of likeminded individuals (though solo runners are pretty much hallucinating near the end so it's best to avoid them).

The event I do is really well run, and half-way around the course there's a bar where you can pick up drinks, gels and sweets. It's great fun. And running with a head torch through the woods in the middle of the night is amazing.

Some people do it solo. I saw the woman winner last year finishing her 100+th mile and it was probably the most impressive sporting feat I've seen live.

Saying all that, my wife texted me earlier to ask if I wanted to do an obstacle race. Fuck fucking obstacle races in the mud. Not doing that.

I have a hard time believing running next to people for that long is running in 'fresh air'.

I'd take her to a home match for sure, never away though.

No, he doesn't like football although he likes the social side of things. He's been to quite a few events at the club and gets on well with my football friends.

No, unless she's going to be making the tea and coffee at half time, in which case I would drop her off before returning with mates.

Females do not belong at the footy.

Piss off!! :fing:

Yeah. She's fanatical about football. She'd be furious if I went on without her

Went for years with mine. 3 mates in the car and good 'ol Gill driving so we could all get pissed.

We got gobby with some Chelsea fans in a service station that was turning nasty and she waded in - bless her! Only a mere slip of a thing, too.

Got balls that one - you know, not in the literal sense.

We're both totally pissed off with it now.

I do want to take me missus to a game at Field Mill when I finally get round to taking her back to the UK with me. It was part of my life back home so why not?

Might be a bit of a culture shock for her at first though, being Chinese and that. Probably never been anywhere so quiet or with so many empty seats.

Update, you guys.

Took her to Mansfield v Doncaster on New Years Eve. Was good. She bought a keyring!
