Hmmm, based on nothing other than a hunch I reckon Halifax seem a bit ripe for a January window raiding to me maybe. I agree with what ODL said the other day when he mentioned Bromley lasting the pace better than Borehamwood. Then again, I've not really seen a great deal of Borehamwood. But Bromley are in the mix for sure too.
Bromley will finish 7th, it's all they ever do.

Your form is decent, but I didn't think you looked better than a mid table side. Notts, Chessie and Grimsby were certainly more impressive, but I guess 3 teams doesn't represent all top half teams.

Btw I think most teams at this level are shite, including ourselves.
It’s a shit league so you’re probably not far off

Predict what you want. We are above 4 of the 6 teams you've named though. Can't help but think you've just thrown in every team that's thrown a load of dosh around the league.

Just be interested to know your rational for the teams you've picked aside from the excessive amount of money that's been shelled out on most of the squads named.
My rationale is that I have seen most of these teams play and most seem to have the makings of sides that will be well up there come the end. Having extra money to spend on players to boost your side for the run-in also helps. Halifax just don't have that extra dosh to splash on keeping up with the big boys in the league, but that doesn't mean they won't win it. Macclesfield and Barrow both won the league with smaller budgets against the odds. It just means that it's less likely in my opinion, which isn't really that important and certainly isn't worth losing any sleep over.

Boreham Wood don't have the resources of the bigger boys in this league but they have a good manager in place and a solid side that is not quite as ripe for picking as Halifax's. I expect them to finish in the playoffs.

Probably Shaun Harvey has to take a lot of the blame- he was making the football decisions.

I do think we will finish top 3- a good chance at least. We will strengthen in January.

Tbh I'm just grumpy right now and this result hasn't fucking helped.
But sharing is caring and the result has helped the rest of us no end. Especially those of us forced into having to watch Free Guy.

Shaun Harvey would make a very good episode of ‘we told you so’

I fancy Stockport to run away with it, with Chesterfield occupying one of the home play off spots. It'll be between ourselves, Grimsby, Notts County and Boreham Wood for the other home play off spot.

Am I allowed to predict that Halifax won't be that high up there or should I include them too?
I insist on it. The more you insist, the more I'll be laughing my socks off in the New Year when we romp away with the league. :bdick:

Won't happen, chairman knows Wild will walk if he undoes all his work by selling off his players in the middle of the season, and the fans will follow him out the door. :dk:

Finally accepting we're in the fight huh? As regards "ripe for raiding", that's what we call whistling in the dark-making comforting noises to dampen your fears. It won't happen, the chairman knows Wild will walk if he undoes his work of the past 3 years by selling off his players mid-season. Wild accepts that clubs at our level are always a "work in progress" because good players move on, something he expects to have to address every closed season, but NOT in the middle of one, just as his work is bearing fruit. Chairman also knows 500 fans will walk way too at the same time and he'll never be taken seriously again when he talks about "ambition". :bdick:

Fair enough like I said you can predict what you want.

Obviously I hope your wrong. I guess time will tell.

I'd you thought Free Guy was bad (I actually enjoyed that one) then don't, for the love of god, watch Red Notice.

Back to the game. Question for Wrexham fans, did their captain do a fist pump when McAlinden got sent off or does he only reserve that piece of shitmanship for when he gets one of our players sent off?

Some of them laughed, apparently.

Macclesfield won it with Elliott Durrell and Shwan Jalal in the side. Combust-worthy sides can win this league.

Nobody appealed and wasn't any surrounding of the ref etc. Be interested to see if it actually was a red.

The problem all comes from Parkinson playing McAlinden in central midfield when he's clearly a winger and nothing else. And because he's playing there he feels the need to put himself about a bit (even though he's 6 stone wet through), he dived into a tackle on someone moments before.

We were doing nothing even before the red though, was an incredible dull match that was probably headed for 0-0 all the way.

I presume you mean Luke Wilkinson, who didn't come off the bench until the last few minutes last night

7 pages?!

It looked a very soft red, especially 5 mins after Ponticelli got an arm in the face that the linesman completely missed/ignored. The lad acted like he was out cold and then had a miraculous recovery once the red came out....I'd have to see it again (but won't be watching the 'highlights').

Yeovil were still time wasting and playing out for a draw all second half, caught us in some rubbish back post defending and then a mess for the second...I don't remember us looking like scoring though.

Poor team selection (Dropping French, McAlinden over Jones) and poor adjustments in game (Young RW, brought Jones/Hyde on too late), this one is on Parkinson but the over-reaction is mental. 14/18 points since our last defeat, 10 men against an in form team.

Seems very unlikely
I'm just going off what some fans who were there said, could've been laughing at something totally unrelated but really who cares? Personally I find it quite funny when an opposing player gets sent off for an offence that didn't warrant it (very rare), but our fanbase seem quite split on whether or not it was a deserved red. I guess the replay will tell us all.

The plot thickens... supposedly the laughing came from the dugout!

Laughgate is a very real thing, a thorough investigation is needed.

Most likely someone telling a sheep shagging joke or something similar, nothing to do with what was happening on the pitch.

Have to see the replays but wasn't completely shocked to see a red. I was thinking yellow at the time.. and yes Moss did make a meal of it, but from my view the ball had gone and McAlinden has just gone through the back of him and it did look like he went leaning in with an elbow.

Haven't looked through our post match interviews but it'll probably get skipped over how bland it all was up until the red. MD mentioned it above but that was absolutely heading for a 0-0. Yeovil took it up a level or two in the second half and that was all that was needed against our pretty paltry defending.

Easy to say in hindsight but it was surprising French was dropped who did really well at RCB on Saturday and was overlapping nicely with RHJ, and that we also did away with having a front 3 that looked good together last time out as well. Ah well..
