Have to see the replays but wasn't completely shocked to see a red. I was thinking yellow at the time.. and yes Moss did make a meal of it, but from my view the ball had gone and McAlinden has just gone through the back of him and it did look like he went leaning in with an elbow.

Haven't looked through our post match interviews but it'll probably get skipped over how bland it all was up until the red. MD mentioned it above but that was absolutely heading for a 0-0. Yeovil took it up a level or two in the second half and that was all that was needed against our pretty paltry defending.

Easy to say in hindsight but it was surprising French was dropped who did really well at RCB on Saturday and was overlapping nicely with RHJ, and that we also did away with having a front 3 that looked good together last time out as well. Ah well..
Speaking of post-match interviews

Finally accepting we're in the fight huh? As regards "ripe for raiding", that's what we call whistling in the dark-making comforting noises to dampen your fears. It won't happen, the chairman knows Wild will walk if he undoes his work of the past 3 years by selling off his players mid-season. Wild accepts that clubs at our level are always a "work in progress" because good players move on, something he expects to have to address every closed season, but NOT in the middle of one, just as his work is bearing fruit. Chairman also knows 500 fans will walk way too at the same time and he'll never be taken seriously again when he talks about "ambition". :bdick:
This is more or less confirmed today by Pete Wild- "NOBODY WILL BE LEAVING IN JANUARY". :bdick:

Highlights now available, that's a cracking finish from Staunton. The red card looked justified, even the Wrexham commentator described it as "a nasty one" and "a hard elbow"

Weirdly, this just popped up on my Twitter with a Wrexham fan complaining about the decision and the angle from behind the goal. Looks like very little on that, on the angle above it’s a shocker of a challenge. Can’t really argue with the ref’s position to see it tbf.

looks soft as anything for me. His elbow wasn't even up. Compare it to the elbow in the face to Ponticelli just before that incident on the highlights (51 seconds) which wasn't even given as a foul.

Slowed down it looks bad but they always do- it was a clumsy challenge maybe but McAlinden had even turned his body, not a red card for me. The Yeovil player went down like he'd been shot and played for it.

Maybe from a different angle it looks worse but looks like we got stitched up.
You need to see an optician. Both his elbows crack Moss right in the head! It's a shocker of a challenge.

He’s a little unlucky as it’s his flailing arm that catches him not the arm he initially goes up with. That’s a red in this day and age, and even if you disagree with it, you can see why the ref made the decision.

I can see why he made the decision particularly given the fact it looked like the Yeovil player was out cold (even though he was fine). I think its a little soft particularly as the 'challenge'/forearm smash on ponticelli moments earlier wasn't even a foul apparently.

Red for me having seen that again. McAlinden is in no control with that jump, just turns his back as he's jumping in and arms flailing everywhere

Yes. Are you watching something else?
I'm not sure if Human physiology is different in Somerset or wherever the fuck Yeovil is but its pretty impossible to hit someone with both your elbows at the same time, behind you, as you are jumping.

His trailing arm might have caught the player It wasn't an intentional elbow to the head. Unlike the one about 5 minutes earlier.

A clear win anyway, from the highlights we were the only team having any efforts on goal (even if most of them were shit). Funny how many Wrexham fans online said we only had two shots in the entire game.

When you are down to ten men and playing against a team who park the bus its hard to fashion chances.

Yeahhh there's been a few lunging challenges (that could have gone badly wrong) he's made particularly in the home games where I've winced..

Never heard of momentum and the ability of the human body to move in the air? He's looking right at him as he goes in with the first, then flails his other which smacks him in the head. I get you're still angry about your loss but it's getting quite embarrassing now.

Yeah you're right he saw him amd thought "yeah im going to smash this guy with both my elbows", drew on all his years of training at a Shaolin temple to hit him with the Spinning bird elbow. Nearly took his head off- he should wait for the Police to pick him up to be honest.

Or it was a clumsy challenge, and he may have caught him with a flailing arm. As your mate said you can see that being a red nowadays if the referee thought he wasn't in control- it's dangerous play. Personally I think it should have been a free kick and a yellow at most. A red is over the top, it wasn't malicious.

You're an angry guy aren't you? have you thought about supporting Halifax?

You're still talking about the red?

He smacks into his head with his right shoulder, pivots in the air and smashes him with his left elbow. It's 1.5 red cards.

The "intentional elbow" you mention wasn't an elbow either.

The case is now closed, for I have spoken.

He spends the close season training with Whirling Dervishes in Turkey.
