Finally won a game but made hard work of it, first time we’ve score three away from home in over 2 years. 3 points against Altrincham Saturday and I might believe we can scrape mid table.

Thought we were quite poor really, we seem to just play in fits and starts. Barnet caused us plenty of problems and they're a pretty poor team by all accounts. Good to get the win but with Sutton, Notts County and Hartlepool in our next three I think we'll have to raise our game.
Bit harsh, thought we were very solid first half, let ourselves down a lot in the second however, especially with silly fouls. But otherwise a well ground-out win.

I'm just not sold on us yet, mate. We don't look like a cohesive team yet really. We give up some great chances to the opposition. However, in our favour, we rarely look toothless. Always look like we can create something out of nothing. Lets see how we go, I appreciate the team needs more time to gel with the Covid break never really allowing us to get momentum. Our position in the table and points total is actually excellent. To be 5th with the games in hand is very promising and we're above 2 points per game. Like I say, will be interesting how we do in these next 2 or 3.

I gave in and paid Barnet’s rip off price in the end so glad to pick up the victory.

Ridiculously open game that could have finished about 7-5 with the amount of clear cut chances. We deserved our half-time lead but Barnet were well on top at 1-1 when they deservedly had a man sent off for a terrible challenge and even though it took us 5 minutes to sort ourselves out we then started to make the extra man count and got the winner.

Lots to think about with our formation going forward as we’ve been like a prime Kevin Keegan team in these last few games. Whatever we decide we need to keep the Bennett/Reid partnership together up top as they are fantastic together.

The wing back system is the right way to go when Mark Kitching is on the pitch. He's a proper player, I reckon. Suits him down to the ground.

The formation seems forced when tonight we're resting him and then shoe horning Jordan Williams there. The back three never seems settled either to me. None of the back three (even with Palmer and Stott fit) seem to like it.

I want to see the same formation but with Palmer and Stott fit and in the back three and Keane or Croasdale in place of Maynard in midfield as I’d suggest we’d look a lot more solid even without tactical tweaks.

Yeah Williams just didn't fit the role, he's not a defender, pretty sure it was his man who scored for the hosts

Yeah it was a very attacking line-up tonight with Williams at lwb though if we’d put our chances away he would have had a couple of assists to his name.

I disagree, I think the back three will suit Hogan, Palmer and Stott but they just need a good run together. It doesn’t work without Palmer there to defend the central space though as we’ve seen in the last two games.

First half tonight was the most one sided 45 minutes of football I have ever seen, don't think they had a single attack, but they defended much better than Wrexham on Saturday. Once they were 2 down they gave it a go with their team of giants but we looked pretty comfortable until we strangely made a substitution while defending a corner and allowed them to score whilst we were still sorting out who should be marking who.

Saw the game out well after that though, ten wins from twelve is our best ever start to a season I think.

Yeah when you're playing a back three, at this level you need the middle man to be dominant aerially which as you say is what we're missing with Palmer out and Hogan, Stott, Keane aren't really of that profile. Could be an area for us to look at.

Agreed - before the start of the season I thought we would be fine with Jennings or Keane dropping in when we had injuries but Hogan isn’t as aerially dominant as I thought he was and is much better as a cultured side defender.

We were well in it and on top when Wordsworth decided to go airborne. After that, it was only a matter of time before Stockport retook the lead. I can’t see us creating enough chances to win games unless something changes.

Well deserved win for us, Luke Armstrong double, the striker we've been missing, both goals inside the six yard box, King's Lynn looked much better when they took off Michael Gash who looked like a walking football player and how Marriot missed that open goal I'll never know.

Feels good to watch a win at home.
Yeah I didn’t think King’s Lynn looked too bad. I think they’ll stay up.

Much better from us tonight. We are a capable side when we’re on it and the system we played tonight was much better. Props to DC for picking a good team and a setup that worked.

I thought everyone had a decent game, except Odusina having a rare bad day.Thought Rhys Oates was good on the wing, Shelton miles better option than Crawford, Joe Grey a handful and Luke Armstrong is a proper striker.

You really won’t. Not against us anyway. With the attacking splendour you have at your disposal Ardley will set up in 8-2-0 formation and tell the two midfielders to make sure they track back.

Stockport fans, i hope you let us keep Bell. He’s been absolutely excellent since coming in. Very good goal tonight and once again held up the ball and brought others into play. Bell and Hyde really forming a good partnership.

Think we’ll want him back but likely to take a place on the bench so whether he’ll want to come back is another question.

Has Beadle gone yet? Seems only a matter of time...

Sounded as though we were doing ok tonight until the sending off but we don’t score goals and defensively are about as water tight as a sieve, so it’s no surprise we can’t win a game.

Another defeat at Chesterfield on Saturday and I think the panic button will be struck and Beadle will be gone. Oh.

I saw him moaning about the red saying it wasn’t high or reckless when it was both of those things. Also moaning that he’s without another player who’s picked up his fifth yellow - we are 12 games in that isn’t unlucky it’s ill discipline.

The club are finished. Relegation is virtually a certainty this season and if that happens we will never recover.

I don’t blame Beadle, he’s been made a scapegoat by TK. No manager would have succeeded in the situation he’s been put in.

How long are Palmer and Stott out for? We could probably do with a helping hand next Wednesday..

Not sure to be honest. They were said to have knocks for Saturday at Bromley but have now missed the last 2.

Well we certainly shut those 2 smug Aldershot commentators up, who from initially questioning their own penalty and admitting it was a dive ("but hey-ho its all part of the game now") had by the start of the second half convinced themselves there'd been no issue with it, at all, and felt very hard done by when we got a dodgy one too. Oh and "is it me or do you feel Halifax might have a goal in them, this second half" -"nah, it's you mate, we're looking comfortable"..........don't you just love it when your team comes good for you :bdick:

Wish I had your optimism, I didn't bother with your stream after previous comments and only listened to the 2nd half on Radio Norfolk and apart from Marriott's miss it all sounded pretty comfortable for you - commentary team were impressed with how well you moved the ball and obviously Armstrong on the end of it helps. I think Culverhouse gambled on getting the Gash/Marriott partnership back that worked so well last season and maybe sneak a goal to give us a bit of confidence but Gash had a bad illness pre-season, only coming back to training in the last few weeks and my guess is nowhere near 'match fit'.

From the sounds of it his interview does not give anyone confidence that he has the nous to turn it around.
So not only do we find it difficult to create chances and score and defend properly, we’re an ill-disciplined rabble. Great.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
I hesitate to say it, because I'm not one for bigging us up, but we're looking a superb side now. :ds:
Wouldn’t say superb, but not bad for this drossy league, and you should be thereabouts come April/May/June, whenever.

Well, I’m sure that the commentators in Yorkshire are totally unbiased. Will be sure to listen in, and will comment, but you can be assured that I am not a cocky git.

His post match interview was absolute proof that he's lost the plot. Delusional.

I didn't blame Beadle early on but over time he has to shoulder some blame, especially as he starts to completely delude himself post match.

As shambolic as the running of the club is we have a budget that should allow us to stay up comfortably.

It could've been a totally different game if the ref didn't wave play on after Odusina slipped and basically launched himself like a torpedo into your forward in the first 10 mins.

I think there'll be three worse teams than yourselves this season, you came into the game more with the triple sub, Loza and the other lad upfront looked much better than Gash/Marriott and if he puts away that sitter it's a different finish to the game.
