Stockport surely can't get away with only playing teams without a pulse for long.

Not a pen that TBF. Referee wasn't giving any of those tangles all afternoon, so entirely consistent.

Frustrating, it's 2 wins in 18 for Monk. Dunno when the question is going to start being asked.

Watched it on ifollow. If it’s the one being referred to he got the ball first, agreed it would’ve been a penalty had he not. (the one to the right of the penalty area from the away end, about 20/25 yards out)

For cambridge there were just too many unforced errors, like a noticeable amount, the attacking play in general was very average.

Can’t say i agreed with monks tactics either, playing 1 uptop and isolating lavery on his own wasn’t great for me (though don’t love enough of that’s down to injuries).

Readily appreciate it’s coming from a humble mansfield fan but cambridge are only going 1 direction at present.

Thought mansfield were ok, probably sligntly
fortunate to get the win, but 3 home games undefeated and 1 loss from 5 is a decent enough start from a relatively kind set of early fixtures.

Well we started out gifting Cobblers a 1-0 lead from a soft pen, arising from a mistake from our debutant, and understandably green, defender.

But then we looked really strong going forward and pinned NTFC back - their LB getting skinned over and over (he got hooked early).

Some decent spells of play from the Cobblers though and some more thoughtful passing than I was expecting. They looked strong on the counter too.

Anyway - we equalised, and later went ahead through a fabulous comedy tap-in after an NTFC defender and the goalie got in each other’s way.

We’ve scored 2 in every game now which is not bad, but we do look leaky at the back, which isn’t great.

Still. A decent showing overall. I thought Cobblers were ok, no more, no less.

Stockport the better side here but not by much. Horsfall had a head injury. Right in front of me but I didn't see anything to cause it. Had me worried for a while the way he was laying there.

We need to get a winger on. A few times we've had the run on the full backs but they have managed to recover as our wide players were heading backwards not forwards.

Good game.

It feels charitable to even be calling unforced errors a recurring theme this season, which underlines the issues.

Expected to see Nlundulu and Lavery together, but our options are a bit thin and when Nlundulu came on you could see he's not sharp enough. Willing to leave that as a forced hand, as with the premature substitutions through injury that really buggered it, but you've managed to nail us completely in that post after watching one match.

Probably could have taken at least a point from that all things being equal, but we certainly have a trajectory shaping up as you say.

Mansfield I thought were fairly tidy, if not entirely assured and having Lee bloody Gregory up front will probably given you enough over the course of the season. Suspect we'll end up in similar waters by the season end, with you doggy paddling away from our bloated, drowned, corpse!

With results going as they are we're already starting to be cut adrift, and waiting for Monkball to come good is getting ever more tense.

Oh very much so, that’s with the “humble mansfield fan” comment, hopefully not but i’d imagine we’d never be far away from looking over our shoulders, and winning games like this are going to be the difference between do and die.

I noted the commentator (on hol in the dominican rep) said you’d not won in your last 5/6 games of last season, surely monks skating on thin ice?

Quite, you've always been more than fair as a commentator though so not knocking that!

It was very much a case of making do and limping home last year, two big wins over Easter did the job in the end. Then the Monkball rebuild was meant to kick in, so it's hard to say just how much rope he really has.

The reactionary emotional questions are being asked on our end, but I suspect it'll be more pertinent in a month or so, when we've played Lincoln and Burton. 2 wins in 18 isn't a good look however you cut it, even if there is more to it than simply results. That's fine at this stage, but once you've played 10? Different story.

If it was over a season where you’re ravaged by injuries you could potentially buy it, but when it covers 2 seasons it does tend to look harder to defend.

A couple of weeks ago I thought our 0-0 at Bolton was a good result.

Looks like points thrown away now. Didn't realise they were the lame ducks of the league.

Stockport County.
Draw fair at Crawley for me although I didn't think it was a penalty. The attacker kicked Wootton and went down. Crawley played with plenty of enthusiasm though and draw fair enough. It's another point towards the 50 point mark for both sides.

Predicted a scrappy game we might steal 1-0 and that’s exactly what happened.

First 10 minutes we looked excellent and I thought we’d cruise to a win. Shrewsbury then absolutely battered us up until half time, we couldn’t string a pass together and they really should have capitalised and scored. They had a strong penalty shout that I thought would have been very harsh but definitely falls into the seen them given category.

We were much better in the second half but still far from decent. A really scrappy goal that Ahadme just about forced over the line, hopefully that will help his confidence.

It still isn’t clicking for us, especially away from home but we have 13 points from 18 so I can’t complaint too much. 4 clean sheets so far. Only 1 to go to equal last season’s tally

I don't think we played that badly today, the subs killed us at various times though. We were in control then Andrew goes down and goes off, O'Riordan comes on and gets sucked in to concede the first. We then inexplicably take Barton off, then even more inexplicably take Longelo off for fucking Gibbons 30 seconds before they score a worldie, which means our main attacking threats are neutralised as we then have to chase the game.

I'm staggered Nlundulu's miss at the end hasn't had more said about it on our messageboard, it's one of the worst bits of attacking play I've ever seen, what the fuck was he thinking not heading it, 2 yards out with an open goal!

Ultimately, in a summer where we got close to signing at least one of Assombalonga, Hogan, Gayle or Washington, the game was undone by Lee Gregory (who has also been at our training ground in the last 12 months), shows where we're lacking, and will be amplified significantly if Lavery is injured.

Time is ticking Mr Monk.

Nlundulu isn't a footballer to be fair.

Decent point at Posh in my opinion, sounded like a fair result as well.

Two good goals by all accounts.

Was fairly even until we scored but after that Bolton were comfortably the worst team faced so far, have a look at our 4th goal today, a Sunday league team would be embarrassed with that, looked really ill suited to passing it out from the back.
Big fan of their ground, like a better version of ours but location wise we win.

We put a winger on and ten minutes later the full back had kittens, cramp and was subbed off.

Much more even game after we brought on Quitirna and Adeyemo. From being a nice stroll in the park we had Stockport in a proper game. Don't get me wrong, I still think they were better than us but we caused them problems.

Penalty was, sort off, a foul. Given against you you're fuming , for you you're happy. He tried to lean on the player to move him off the ball but he ended up leaning into his back.

We also brought on Bradley Ibrahim. Young lad from Hertha Berlin. Big fella, neat and tidy. Not afraid to accept the ball in tight spaces. First time I've seen him. Looks ok.

It was an entertaining game today. We nicked a draw, but I'd pay money to watch games like that...you know what I mean

Don't think you're giving yourself enough credit for your performance, I don't think we were better than you personally.

The full back analysis I'm not as in agreement with. Adaramola, not played for months and not had any pre-seaosn, thought he had an excellent debut.

Bolton though...wtf? Evatt down the road by the morning, surely?‍♂️

Gregory was always signing for Mansfield, only reason it didn’t happen sooner is due to Wednesday wanting his full wages paid.

Agreed. Peterborough started by fair the stronger for first 15 mins, then we started to grow into the game and nullified any attacks from them.

You felt our goal was coming, played it around nicely and smart finish from House.

Had opportunities to score a 2nd but not to be. Poku had a fantastic effort from range to equalise.

7 subs all at once, and multiple injuries resulted in a very stop start last 20 mins, plus 12 minutes injury time added on.

Happy with the point. Feels we never win there.

I didn't realise it was the full backs debut Stocky.

We did give them an easy time though. Our wide players were stepping back to receive the ball. Needed a few more balls played between the centre back and full back for the wingers to run onto. As soon as we did that the full backscwere having lots more trouble. Most of the game your 33 had our wide player safely tucked in his pocket.

Who is the number 9 you brought on? Looks bloody dangerous (a threat)
