We lost 1-0 to the Italy Under 19's today. We apparently play Venezia FC tomorrow.

Drew 2-2 with Caldicot this evening, 22 different players getting a run out including a few trialists. Off to Poland now for a mini pre-season tour, that could be interesting.

Beat Buxton 3-2. Went 2 down after 12 mins. But Ainley and Dagnall levelled before HT, and Udoh scored the winner in the 2nd half. Former Swansea fullback Dan Alfei played as a trialist.

we were 3-0 up at half time and drew 3-3. Can't look into it too much though. over 50 players had a run out in the game.

Also had some midfielder called Louis Collins play in the 2nd half.

Whilst you don't really read much into things, Alfei was pretty poor, was given the run around in the 1st half and had a bit of a stinker. Zooms was the best Alex player and if Lowe and Dagnall strike up some chemistry, they could be dangerous. Defending for the first 2 goals was hilariously bad, much like last season. Backed off too much for the first and their winger curled it in the top corner, cracking finish. 2nd goal, more shit defending, cross comes in and their giant striker gets between Guthrie and Nugent to head home.

Once we got going we got back into it. 2 tidy goals, should have been ahead in the first half. 2nd half was a non-event save for a few Alex chances and Udoh's finish. Meh, nice trip, nice town. Ground isn't great, but its what you expect for non-league. Enjoyable enough evening.

Impromptu friendly for us today - a match v Paksi FC of err... Paks, who finished 7th in their Premier League last season. They lost to Ross County 3-1 at home a few days ago.

Just drew 2-2 with Clipstone, with a mixture of first teamers and youth players. Mitch Rose and Yussuf with tbe goals. Playing Carlton Town later with a different set of first teamers and youth players.

Linby today. Very much a youth/reserve lineup outside of Loach, Atkinson and Hollis (and old man Pilks on the bench).

Notts team:1.S Loach 2.J Richards 3.J Dhillon 4.J Snoain 5.A Basi 6.Puji 7.W Atkinson 8.J McMillon9.W Mellors-Blair 10.A Campbell11.R Sharpe

Subs: 12. L-Wildin 14. Y Rutty-Smith 15. H Hollis 16. Montel GK. K Pilkington

is our team, I played with/against trialist Will Mellors-Blair as a kid, which is an uninteresting fact. I think he ended up at Walsall (remember him having trials with Man Utd) and then disappeared to play in America for a few years.

Other trialists I'm aware of is Jhai Singh Dhillon, previously of Stevenage and a winner of some Chelsea football competition in Asia and Jordan Snodin (son of Ian), previously of Hyde.

We've just started a game against Workington. Our first half team, which looks like a 4-4-2:

Gillespie, T Miller, Raynes, Ellis, Grainger, Lambe, Jones, McKee, Adams, S Miller, Trialist

Curle isn't playing Miller and Devitt together in pre-season as he says both would benefit more from developing an understanding with other players.

Lewis Collins from Reading? He's a Grimsby local, no idea if he's any good.

Thanks for listening.

I couldn't make much sense of it myself, seems like it would make more sense to play them together and show everyone else the type of runs to make for Devitt's passing.

Ever since he purposely brought a brick and some lip balm to an interview I've learned it's best not to pick apart his oddities.

CARLTON: Stags' XI: Jensen, Bennett, Benning, Collins (C), Pearce, Taft, Clements, Hurst, Hemmings, Green, D Rose.

Line up for the Carlton game. Think that is the team Murray wants to put out v Newport.

We're playing our first one today against Linby CW and are 7-0 up, some random trialist from America with a hat-trick. Basically played the youth team though, don't think Sheridan really wanted a game against a pub team.

Yeah, not sure how to read into it that Loach, Campbell, Atkinson and Hollis were the first-teamers seemingly plopped in. Seems random but I'm not so sure. I wonder if Hollis and Atkinson have even signed those new deals Branston offered to them...

Aforementioned Mellors-Blair with a hat-trick which is nice for him. Local lad who went to school at Bluecoat. Richards, Gibson, Campbell and Snodin with the other goals. Likes of Richards, Gibson, Wildin and McMillan seems a lot better than the usual crop of youth teamers we give contracts to, hope they get given a fair crack.

Yeah I think Loach will be back up. Which is odd cause he must be on a fair whack...

Linby really are pub team standard. Think anyone playing 9 could have got a hattrick

Standard 3-0 win at Maldon & Tiptree this afternoon, who interestingly had Jamie Cureton come on as a sub for them.

We've beaten Carlton Town 4-3, seems like we haven't done any work on the defence yet... Green x2 Benning and Jason Law with the goals.

What level do they play at? Reckon Curo would smash goals in left, right and centre at a Conference South or below

Ryman Division One North, so two levels below the Conference South. Can't imagine he'd sign that low though, still fancy him to pick up a L2 club or upper Conference.

It must be pre-season as Jordan Slew is scoring goals.
