At least we have a board, that interviewed for the position last time. As opposed to an owner who just grabs the cheapest option.
remind me how many managers you’ve been through in the last 25 years.

If you think we always go for the cheapest option you don't follow us very closely. TK goes in cycles, he'll go crazy with spending for 18 months then tighten the pursestrings for 2 years etc. Flowers certainly wasn't cheap.

Generally, we go through so many managers because his appointments are usually terrible.

The problem for you guys is that your board seem to legitimately think that Brennan was doing poorly, which to me looks like a major misjudgemente. There are not a load of quality managers out of work right now, at least not many that you guys can afford.

Results and performances have been poor recently. But reading between the lines, there were other issues. I don't think this decision was all performance related. We knew this season was about survival really.

As an aside, I've heard Darren Currie's name rumoured as a potential for the Stones. No idea whether there is any substance to it or not, but I would assume you think it would be a good appointment?

Currie would be a good appointment. You will be organised and play attractive football. The only issue I ever had with him was that he seemed to really struggle getting transfers over the line, but I suspect the chairman did not help in that regard.

Brennan was going to Barnet because the money was a lot more but decided to stay loyal. Currie left Barnet because the money wasn't enough. So how could poor old part time Wealdstone afford Currie.

He also left because he knew he would have to work with a greatly reduced budget. Things might be different if he got to start at a new club from scratch.

Dean Brennan:

"Approximately eight weeks ago, following interest from another club, the board promised me a new improved contract. I chose to remain loyal to my players and supporters.

“I had not chased the board as I trusted their word. However, more recently I was informed by a contact that the club had been liaising with an out of work manager about my job and this was subsequently confirmed to me by the chairman.

“I felt the two issues combined left my situation untenable.

“I was also becoming uncomfortable with the relationship between the chairman and my assistant Stuart Maynard, which I believe was beginning to undermine my position as manager at the club.

“As you all know I am big on trust and loyalty. However, it is my opinion this was not reciprocated."

Everyone is big on trust in football, I trust there was no conversations between Dean Brennan and Tony Kleanthous prior to an official approach.

I'm sure you guys would have complained to the league and FA if there had been.

I still need to listen to DB's interview with Dave Anderson for The Non-League Show just to see if there's any additional insight into why he went. His statement has been analysed to death on our forum already so no point covering old ground there.

It's a real shame that Gary King and Kirk Rayment have gone too but I wish them and Deano all the best moving forward.

In Stu and Matty Saunders we trust!

So it's against the rules, but you won't make a complaint? No wonder it happens all the time then!

You are aware that agents in football don’t play by the rules and Managers and Chairman lie.

They all know that it is against the rules and is difficult to prove, that’s why it goes on.

Supposedly to join Sheff Weds as Darren Moore's assistant.

Surely Dean Brennan is going to take the Barnet job this time around?

We have a new manager, according to Wikipedia. She surely couldn't do any worse.

Brennan a shoe in from what I am hearing with another Irishman as his assistant.

if they get DB of 2019/20 then he will do well, if the 2020/21 vintage then he will be added to the long list of managers on Barnet’s didn’t last long list.

He is surely favourite. Would be a logical choice.

Absolutely, he wants to manage a FT club and he could turn Barnet around over the summer. Unless he knew something better was coming, he’d be a mug not to take the job.

Based on this season, he doesn't appear cut out for NL football. And as for Dave Anderson as assistant, did he retire? Last job at Chertsey in 2018/2019 season.
