We will definitely be taking a look at Penn if we need a new manager after this weekend.

Whereabouts is he based?

Stourbridge I think, he's very local to Kidderminster.

I think he'll see out the season with us at the minimum. Especially if we somehow win this weekend.

What’s his style of play mate? And does he favour a stats-based approach?

Madness. He’s an upper league 1 manager opting to come to a team in the national league, give him 4 years as far as I’m concerned.
Let's be realistic however well you do at a club a bad run and the sack is just around the corner.

Seldom does a manager get to leave a club on his own terms anymore.

How often do you see a manager last more than 2/3 years these days.

Before it's dug up and used against me, yes I have been present at a Barbecue that John Pemberton was also present at. He cooked me a burger and said "here you go mate". Nothing else. Got fuck all to do with that why I'm bigging him up.

Had to disclose that, in 2022, you never know what's going to get dug up from the sleuths on here.
But he was giving others a bit of Pork, can’t see Chessie falling for that one again.

If Penn does get a job in the National league you need to be patient with him if results don’t go well, and don’t write him off.

I've been massively shocked by how well Russ has done at Kiddy. He absolutely crumbled when we made him captain in 2013, and if he crumbled leading a relatively decent team on the field I figured he'd fall apart as the main man. Fair play though, he's done well.

Reckon my mate Rob would be the best shout... and it has absolutely nothing to do with being stood right next to him.

He's done a great job since he's started, I think a few fans were pessimistic when he was appointed but him and Jimmy O'Connor along with the rest of the backroom staff have won everyone over

That had better he the case. If the board don't give the fans a good reason why he was suspended/sacked it could get toxic quickly. If we start losing anyway, which we will.

Yeh I'm hearing Rowe resigned ten mins before his disciplinary, which he was going to be sacked at anyway.

BTW, sorry Halifax fans*

If he's walked without putting up a fight (so to speak), you know he's done something worth being sacked for. It's probably an agreement that if he resigns, the real mucky stuff won't be aired in public.

Honestly, I think the Trust are playing a pretty dangerous game with the complete radio silence on this thing. They have a lot of good will with the fan base because we're basically a football club owned by fans of the club, who also run a charitable Trust. We all felt connected to the whole process and bought in, in a huge way. Hence things like the Trust feeling in a position to feel comfortable asking for donations for frost covers, when they could obviously afford it anyway. The whole community, we're all in it together, thing. If fans start to feel like the Trust are keeping things from them, or failing to be communicative, they're playing a dangerous game. If it is because this a police matter and they literally can't make any public statements on it, then at the very least they need to say that. Leaving everyone wondering wtf is going on is really risking eroding the good will everyone has for them

Can’t see Wild going to Chesterfield. I’m not going to be salty and say it’s a sideways move, however, it’s such a big risk on his part. If he doesn’t get them promoted, he’s in danger of the sack and that doesn’t look good on his CV.

He’s built such a good project with us despite very little expectations. He’s very little to lose with us and plenty to gain. Could you say the same at Chesterfield? Yes, he might get paid more and have bigger budgets etc but it would surely be promotion or bust.

The worry with these Wild type of managers is that they are coming from small clubs with no expectation or pressure, straight to a club with a baying mob every match who expect victory.

James Rowe gone - official.

Pretty vague statement. Will we ever know what was true, and what wasn’t?

He’s resigned so no compensation and a clean break. I think most fans have a good idea what has gone off. He will get another job in football and no doubt do a good job. I’m bitterly disappointed in him tbh

Hard to know what to think really.

Are we grateful that he completely turned our fortunes around on the pitch in the space of 12 months or should we be angry that he's (probably) fucked up a genuine shot at automatic promotion. Maybe it's a bit of both in the end.

Wouldn't have any reason to think we'd be in this position 2 weeks ago....football is crazy.
