Given the circumstances, that makes it sound like he’s sacked himself. Hope he had his chap out during the negotiations.

Pete Wild already the bookies favourite.

Could be a long couple of weeks for the ‘fax boys.

Will Chesterfield fans be asked to fundraise to pay the compensation required to get Wild? Or will it be back to 2001 and will you start paying him in brown envelopes .

Be nice if we could put out some sort of statement like Bromley did with Woodman. The speculation has already started on our messageboard.

If he does go. Wonder who we would go for if he did leave. Maybe Parkinson at Alty. Who knows.

I'm hoping they get Cook

Top, top manager. To get us in the playoffs last year after taking over when we were like 22nd was an unreal achievement. Overriding feeling is just gutted tbh, why did he have to do... Whatever it is he's obviously done. Next appointment absolutely crucial

1 . Had to be held back by a player on the bus back from Maidenhead. (Dropped said player next match.)
2 Walkinking into accounts and demanding his bonus for progressing in the FA Cup
.
3 Fallouts with the groundman, over the pitch, blamed the groundsman although the groundsman blamed JR for training 3 days a week at CFC as he didn't want to keep training at Hasland.

.
All hear say. Who knows

Wild's stopped half his squad leaving in January then decides to jump ship a week later.

If this was the off season I'd be more concerned. Can see Wild wanting to finish what he's started this season.

Is there literally anyone who has ever crossed paths with James Rowe who doesn’t think he’s a complete nobhead? You’ve got every single person on the Ipswich Town forum with some story about him ffs.

Only the 21 years ago. Time to move on, mate.
So it’s a go fund me then
not really, Just a bit of banter.
If Wild is a target, he an interesting choice to make. No doubting Chesterfield are a bigger club. But it’s not a massive step up. If you do go up, it’s not his team, didn’t do legwork, but will probably get some kudos from the fans. However if he doesn’t get you up, fans will turn on him and he could be out of door. If he wants that sorta challenge, then I respect that and I wish him well.

Or he could stay, where he is developing a project and culture at a club. He controls the lot at the shay. We don’t have many employees, but we’re not financially fucked and we make every penny count. Plus he has earned a much longer leash at the shay, should we start to struggle a bit.

Compensation I imagine would be pretty decent, as Wild and Chesterfield will be breaking terms of his contract of employment. I know chesterfield have fa cup money, but it’s another pay off, in a series of payoffs for your club.

Will be interesting next week or so anyway.

Interesting looking back over some of the posts on this thread when he was appointed. Some of the Aldershot fans hinting at stuff they'd heard. Clearly a guy with talent who won't fulfill his potential because he's a massive prick.

Yes. The problem for Halifax is not only Wild going, but returning to raid his former club time and again.

Really is make or break time for the Shaymen. If I was the chairman I would be getting a blank contract out and letting Wild write whatever figures he wants in there.

Wild should hang on, not because it’s not a step up, but because every League One/Two club in the Midlands and North is surely going to be looking at him whenever a job comes up now. If he backs himself to get Ches up and thinks there’s potential to really kick on there then fair play.

Time will tell. A professional club would be out with a statement before the game tomorrow. We tend not to be that professional though..

Bit like the Conte situation this. I wouldn’t be surprised to see PP get the boot if Wrexham lose at Torquay tomorrow, and the Red Dragons throw their hat into the ring for PW now they know he has been making eyes at Chesterfield.

Got to agree. He would have to some balls to go to chesterfield if you know what I mean. If Chesterfield were league 2 or 1 , then no brainer.

I’ve heard that Wild is dark horse for Sunderland job as well.

Tbh I think there is more chance of us appointing Paul Cook until the end of the season than us bringing in Wild. Just my opinion though.

This Phil Wild has never done anything in management outside of half a current decent season at Ragbag Rovers.

Massive risk to go giving him the reins of Proper Club.

Think there will be less hoops for you to jump through, and the feel good factor that would come with it, would guarantee decent crowds till end of season.
