Carlisle have got 6/7 quality attackers, if their starting 3 aren't doing it they put another 3 or 4 on. Not many sides have that luxury. Don't know how they've done it especially when looking at their squad they only have two loans as well, don't think I've ever seen a squad with so few. That being said Hoolahan and Mullins would walk into any team in this league, probably Ironside too, including Carlisle's. If Cambridge keep them fit they'll go up imo.

And let's not forget we have the best right back in the league. Boateng is also due to return from injury in the next few weeks.

The only player I'd take from Carlisle is this world class center half they have.

Nah the best RB is Carlisle’s youth team RB.

I watched the last 2 Carlisle games on iFollow. I’m not sure we have too much to be worried about tbh.

Despite how well we're doing at present I still can't start to think about promotion. My natural negativity won't allow it.

Tranmere most likely to come through and win it I reckon. The monied upstarts (FGR and Salford) will be heavily involved. Exeter, Newport, Carlisle, Cheltenham and Morecambe still in the mix. Mansfield will finish strongly, possibly Bradford too...

Play offs would still be a great achievement but would feel a real let down after a couple of spells top of the table.

Don't think Mullin would be anywhere near the Tranmere starting line up to be fair

Not sure you can compare us to Salford, we might be bankrolled beyond our natural means, our natural level is probably bottom half Conference these days but we're midtable in league 2 budget wise this year. Well below the budget cap according to Vince, especially now we've sold two of our best players and will probably lose a couple more in the summer. In the past few seasons we've decided to go down the sign mainly young players, develop them and sell them on route, with the odd older head to help them out, rather then splash out on big names at this level. Sensible approach imo, as given how even most teams are in this league all you need to compete is to be is consistently solid and well organised with one or two players capable of producing the odd bit of class. The so called big name signings don't often stand out all that much.

He’s having a freak season. Right place, right time for you, I reckon. He was the very definition of average when he played for us.

How did Carlisle, on a part-time basis form such a formidable team!?

We play Vaughan as the focal point of a front three and Mullin would not fit into that system. If it was a straight choice between Vaughan and Mullin, I would choose Vaughan every time.

All of that said, Mullin does have talent and it is not a complete surprise to see him do well in a front two, with another striker sharing the workload. Cambridge seem to have quality in the right areas and I can see them going up if they keep Mullin and Hoolihan fit.

Mullin and Ironside are having a season where both are above their natural level, be it the service for Hoolahan, luck or just the sum of the total being greater than the parts.

Pope has stats better than Messi at one point in 2012/13, finished on 33 goals despite an 8 week drought during the season!

Would Mullin work on a different team or system? Possibly not. Vaughan for example is naturally a lethal striker and has been for years and could stick him in any team and he’s banging in the goals.

Cambridge are doing well in a situation where a couple of top players and some good ones are probably over performing but clearly working to a system and colleagues that suit each other.

Carlisle is a different situation, I assume whilst they are plumbing during the day to top up their part time hours they are living the dream and really going all guns blazing to try and earn a deal with a fully professional club.

Paul Mullin runs his heart out. That is a very big part of his game. He was liked by most TRFC fans i know because he doesn't hide.

Don’t really think you can compare Mullin with Vaughan, they are different types of striker.

Sorry but I’d pick Matt Green over Mullin and Vaughan every day of the week.

I will be watching at 2.30 to see how you fair today.
I watched the last 2 Carlisle games on iFollow. I’m not sure we have too much to be worried about tbh.

Well I decided to see how you fared on ifollow tonight and what I saw was you get beat 4-1 and I don't believe we have to worry about you pulling away.

In fact, YOU WERE TERRIBLE.

So based on this one sole match I've seen you play I'm completely writing you off as promotion candidates and I can confirm that from what I've seen, Cambridge ARE CRAP.

We were fucking dreadful tonight but it’s another game chalked off. Back to winning ways Saturday with another game played.

I know you don’t like the fact I am writing you off because a few weeks away you thought you were promoted. We will finish above you, no doubt about it.

Well that was dire....two bad teams, when have i said that before.....morecambe will pick a odd win here and there and fade to finish mid table.
Again we huff and puff.....MJ Williams is a clone of Comley/ White does not know how to play a ball forward.
The one piece of quality and Doyle gets his 11th league goal of the season.
We are not going up and we are not going down......Get Maddison on

Did you not have any quality players to come off the bench?

Ha ha!

Ha ha!

I wouldn't swap our squad with yours and I wouldn't swap your games in hand with our position. You will not finish in the top three.

No one wants to see you go up.

A proper tinpot club who spent a decade in the non-league and who would definitely come falling right back down with such a weak as piss squad.

You know nothing about our squad as proved when you said we rely on Mullin. Then it was Hoolahan. Make your mind up.

You're clearly clueless as you thought you'd won it in dec haha muppet.

Oh well I don't know mate, I mean the way things are going I don't think any of the teams above us want to get promoted with you lot and the new best team in the league Tranmere losing at home to fucking Stevenage!!

You see this is why we're the true best team in the division because no shit team has beaten us.

We're in 8th place and only need to win two matches to be top again and we have like 5 of them in hand on you.

I’d ease up on being quite so cocky until you’ve got the points on the board. Games in hand are worth naff all if you come away with nothing from them.

That’s not me trying to be a dick either. You’re in a great position and I think you’ll go up. Our game against you was a hard fought one at Prenton Park and expect the same in the return fixture. However your schedule between now and the end of the season is horrendous and there is no doubt that it will take its toll.
