Referee gives the freekick the wrong way for the 10th time so of course they score. Fuck sake

Missed the last 10 mins, thought our missed chances was going to cost us only to find we scored 2 late goals!

Get in there, big win for us after the previous two defeats

Ref sounded shocking for both sides, even booking Disley for celebrating even though he didn't leave the pitch

Great win for Grimsby, opens up the title race very nicely now - that is if you're a neutral like me. Had a feeling they would get a point or a 1-0 win but never thought they'd score 3 at The Hive.

Massive win that when everyone else won too, but us being Grimsby we will probably scrape a point at home to Telford on Tuesday

The free kick wasn't te wrong way at all. Bondz is clumsy and gave away a needless free kick.

We battled much better in the second half but Grimsby deserving winners in the end.

That said, Luisma almost put us ahead near the end, denied by a worldy.

Need a major turnaround in performances if we are to stay the distance but on the evidence of today, we don't look likely champions.

Makes it worse that we weren't playing today now, if we had won we would be right up there with BR heaping more pressure onto Barnet.

Rovers to win the league and bag me a bit of cash at the same time, put the bet on when they were about 8 points behind too :)

What I mean is that the referee didn't have consistency between the two sides. High balls were contested equally physically by both, but Grimsby weren't being penalised for theirs. At one point their centre back had both hands on the top of Gashs head, forcing him down, but nothing given. MacDonald was shoved to the floor on the edge oft he box, nothing given. But Bonds gives his striker a little nudge in the back - immediate free kick. It's frustrating and you could tell something was up as the whole of that end of the West stand (where I was sitting) were up in arms. No wonder the Lino pegged it as soon as the final whistle went.

But I can't take anything away from Grimsby, first half they were excellent. We offered no competition, but they were well on top. It reminded me of the 0-4 against Halifax. Very lucky we weren't 3-0 down. Rubs salt in the wound that their goal was a mix up between Stack and Johnson - we had to give it to them as they couldn't finish it themselves.

Second half was much different. We come out with energy, remembering that Akinde wasn't on the pitch and stopped lumping every ball over the midfield. Clifford scored a good goal (hopefully he can stay in the side next week) and was absolutely superb, even on a yellow he was sliding in everywhere. Luisma gives the ball away (something that everyone was doing in the first half) and Stack makes a fantastic save, then McKeown does the same against him. The rest I'd rather not remember.

But we can't do anything more now. Just need to accept where we are, grab our balls and man up to fight for what we got. We have a point lead and favourable goal difference, let's perform without the pressure of being first (as Rovers will win) next week away at Alfreton.

9-0 to AFCR&D away at Desborough.

NINE.

Equaling the club record (old and new). Desborough had a man sent off when it was 8-0. Four goals from CB Liam Dolman, including a penalty to make the hat-trick, and the last one. GD up to 61 now. Icing on the cake as Holbeach only beat Olney in ET in the UCL Knock Out cup, Olney are mid-table UCL Div 1 side. Striker Tommy Berwick finally opening his account today for the club at the 4th time of asking. Goals also for Dunkley, Rodgers, Ashton and Confue. Sadly centurion Brad Harris couldn't add to his total goals tally, which stands at 4.

Grimsby's big game record is surely the best in the league. Great manager this Hurst.

Obviously a typical conference ref as our commentators were saying the same thing, giving you free kicks for silly things and giving us nothing.

Had one ruled out for offside a minute earlier which looked like a wrong call. With other scores as they were it was an important goal. Phew.
Diving header at the near post in stoppage time. A big, big goal that. :woot:

Can't fault that, stunning win. Bit too far behind them now though. There's your chance Rovers.

Unbelievable following too, 969 I think.

Barnet Bias coming out but I genuinely don't remember you having too many bad decisions, but then I was right down level with Barnets penalty area, was quite away from your end. Booking Disley for celebrating is stupid though.

Just remembered one key example - the Lino giving Barnet a throw then the ref, who was behind 2 players and 20 yards away, gives it to Grimsby. Just niggly things like that for the most part, and they add up to big consequences - such as your second.

Just want to say I'm in no way denying Grimsby a great performance here. Don't want to take anything away from them.

Rovers can thank Super Disley if they go onto win it now, which hopefully they will as they are probably the only side we will really struggle to beat over two legs.

Not that any of the others will be easy but when we score so few we don't want to be facing the best defence
