Mistakes ahoy. It's been shambolic. We've conceded eight in the last three matches and every single one has been an error or a freak occurrence of some degree. Matt Smith managed to fall over and miskick the ball from outside the box and get the ball in the back of the net for example. That's probably the only one of those eight goals that hasn't been lax defending though. Efete needs to come out the team but he's the only fit right back, all three CBs are way off the pace and constantly falling asleep and Crocombe's kicking has gifted two goals in those three games. We've gone from a team that doesn't score many but at least gets points because we only need a big chance or two in a game to a team that doesn't score many and has a woeful defence.
Despite this I’m actually thinking you guys coming off the back of a home thumping makes the game more difficult for us on Sunday.

Which was odd as i’d been suggesting ollie clarke should start as boateng was fucking wank against northampton.

I hate sounding like the stick in the mud after we’ve won away but if the manager stops fucking around with players and tactics and plays the best players in the best formation without always worrying about the opposition we’ve every chance.

I hate saying it but as it stands one of the biggest hurdles to mansfield getting promoted is clough himself.

Grow some balls! we can do this
I think moving Ollie Clarke to his natural posistion was the turning point, And then moving him back to CB
was spot on.

It was all a bit flat too flat for me, offered very little threat and all over the place tactics second half. Scratching my head at the end there, sorry Keith but it's on you.

Shouldn't have lost that, Mansfield weren't good but had the extra gear that separates the top half from the rest. Now Sterry is crocked again, big blow. Yesterday really showed the fragility of the squad and the horrendous recruitment. Missilou at left back was bonkers, Shelton I didn't think was too bad at CB but then he should never have to play there. We fell apart once he shifted to CM

Tumility is a useless defender but I quite like him going forward and never hides. I'd keep him as a bench option but he's not good enough overall to start. He will be in against Harrogate though. Paterson, Murray, Niang, Hastie first out the door for me. Been said before but January is vital. Need 4 or 5 in.
Think when Cloughie put Ollie Clarke in his natural pos, That did us.
And when the job was done he put him back to CB, Where he,s been playing all season.

Eh, what you on about? He went off injured after 30 mins, you mean the big lump CB/ST that scored surely, we fell apart when Curle moved from 3 CB's to 2.

Yeah if we can stop these ridiculous mistakes then were a solid team again who should cause problems for anyone but that looks like a big if right now. I get what you're saying though, when we were bang on form earlier in the season and had Gillingham at home who had scored two goals in ten games or whatever it was, I knew it would be tough and it was. One thing I would say is that I reckon you've got plenty in your side that feel like they have a bit of a score to settle vs us after our last two matches, plus Kyle Wootton who missed a sitter against us in the playoffs will be wanting to bag and he's in form and I've slagged him off for the last year so he's bound to. Stockport aren't who I want to face right now at all but hopefully Hurst will have put rockets up all our players' arses.

Challinor described us as the walking wounded in his post match last night.

Illness going through the squad and some “niggles” with a quick turnaround so might be a chance for you against a potentially patched up team.

Yeah he was rubbish when he came on, definitely looking short of game time...and a final ball.

whoops, Think i was at the same match as, Killip.

Hawkins is the forward we have who plays in defence as clough doesn’t sign defenders

Hopefully to change in January.

Francomb (club captain) Craig and Hessenthaler seem to be on the naughty step. Jack Powell on the bench.

Not as many changes as I was expecting after Preston stating he was going to be giving some players who have not played much a go. That seems to be Mason (who's been injured), Johnson (who's been crap) and Chukwuemeka (who only played in the Papa John's and was anonymous.).

The players confidence and hope for the future must be shot. Steve Evans may take pity on a former club and stop it at six.

(Insert obligatory rant about Barrow having the worst away end in the entire English footballing pyramid here).

Seriously though, sort it out. Either that or sell every ticket for the away end as "restricted view" until you can be bothered doing something about it.

What are Crawley’s owners going to think about their shots ratio at half time tonight? Given their co-chairman is in charge, will he sack himself?

Better than I thought but still not good enough.

I actually made it three shots on target tonight. I was excited by that many.

Stevenage were just better than us but to let a centre half have yards of space on the six yard line in the centre of the goal is terrible. Then to do it again is criminal.

Jordan Roberts was the player I remember when he played at Crawley. Pace, speed, awareness and the ability to completely miss open goals.

On to the loss at Newport.

Comfortable win this evening, could easily have been more than the 3 we got. Felt like job done at half time and I think the second half reflected that. Important to get 3 points after the results last night, restores the gap over 4th to 9 points. Only disappointing news is the loss of Saxon Earley - Evans confirmed he's been recalled by Norwich and looks like he's going to a League One club, real shame and a huge blow to us that.

O dear I hear the Newport manager complaining about a goal that should've supposedly stood tonight. What comes around goes around. I'd say it was karma for ,the boxing day clash against Wimbledon when his player blatantly threw himself to the ground to earn his side a penalty !!!

I didn't hear him complaining about the ref on boxing day when we had a player unjustly sent off which was subsequently rescinded and the unjust penalty given against us. Tonight he's crying that they got very few decisions in their favour.

No managers don't tend to complain things that go their way.

Mind you people don't in life generally.

But if it goes against them then they let everyone know.

Yeah fair result in the end, a bit frustrating for us though as we had the best chance with Aaron Drinans 1v1 miss in the first half - sadly that’s probably our Achilles heel, our strikers are not the most ruthless in front of goal. Idris El Mizouni also guilty of picking the wrong option when he was in on goal.

Vigs had to make a key save before half time, Newport always a threat, but lacking that killer touch in front of goal.

14 games out of 23 we’ve kept clean sheets in this season.

We rotated our team as expected which impacted us a bit. Have to hope we can get through the game Monday to get us over this annoying period of 3 games in 6 days.
