Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Sent down twice in a season...

This is what I think we are looking at here. From what I can gather he was up for 3 counts.

Anybody who has ever watched Jeremy Kyle knows there are a number of differing actions that count towards something like this.

You have:

Sexual Activity (Is basically kissing with tongues, or a good old fashioned song)
Sexual Contact (Is basically a dash of fingering or a blowie behind the bins)
Sexual Intercourse (Penetration of the vadge with his baby maker)

He has clearly accepted that they probably sent a few texts and had a kiss but has denied either of the other charges, which are presumable sexual contact and sexual intercourse.

Can't even have a bit of a knees-up around the piano these days without some prude thinking you're trying it on.

So are we supposed to believe Sunderland had no idea Johnson was going to plead guilty? This would have been agreed with his solicitors months ago, yet he was still allowed to play.

Private agreements he has with his solicitors, which may or may not have changed depending on the potential evidence being presented by the prosecution, are not exactly something he is obliged to share with Sunderland. They may have made him aware that if he plead guilty or was sentenced his contract would be terminated, he may or may not have told them months ago what his plans were.

Seems like Fat Sam wanted him to carry on playing for them too, after he plead guilty

“He will not be available for next weekend.”

Asked if he could play beyond that Allardyce said: “I don't know. Just this weekend and we see how it goes after that.”

Word around Sunderland is he tried to get the club to just suspend him but the board overruled him.

Well I don't think the club were going to anything else from a PR point of view.

just linking the requested info. not sure it can be defined as pedophilia anyway, wrong as it is. that label is generally reserved for people in to prepubescent children. travel over the channel and what he's done is perfectly legal.

Adam Johnson text to girl: "You in the last year of school?" Girl: "Year 10. Will you still send me a signed shirt?"

Johnson: "Am in only getting a kiss?" Girl: "Depends what else you're after" AJ: "Depends what you're up for -a little bit more than a kiss"

This is far more serious than I thought. I was under the impression he didn't know the girls age and met her at a nightclub or something. He's basically groomed a minor online.

Yeah that sounds far more sordid than meeting her drunk in a club someplace and going from there.

Starting to sound like a legit nonce.

Is this one offence football can't overlook? Football has long lost it's morals but surely he's done as a professional player.

Fully fledged grooming. I could understand a bloke meeting a 15 year old in a club and thinking she was older but this is disgraceful behaviour
