The Hackett tackle (if you could call it that) was shocking and was a pretty clear red. Everyone I've seen mention it up to now has agreed, likewise you should've had a penalty later on but obviously that wouldn't have happened had Hackett been sent off so that can't be called an evening out. Like I say, we were the better team but neither of us really earned the win.

Didn't look red to me. Not malicious or intentional, just misjudged a bouncing ball

Intentional or not, malicious or not... It was dangerous play. As clear a red card as you'll ever see.

I'm not sure how any of you could have had a clearer view of it than me, considering we would have all seen it from the West Stand.

Nope. Now last weeks kick to our players head, that was different
Of that wasn't a red then this had no chance

Not seen it but I don't think comparing one wrong decision to another makes them both right. Definite red today, everyone knew it straight away and was baffled as to why the ref didn't give it.

It is nonsense to say everyone knew it. It was a yellow card for a high foot and nothing more

I obviously wasn't there, but James Phillips and Lummy said that Martin Allen looked up to the skies following the tackle. They were certain it was a red, as was Curle post-match.

Good to hear an unbiased view

I'll just copy and paste what i put on the forum

I don't think I've ever seen a manager single handedly destroy our chances of winning through poor substitutions like MA did today. What should have been a comfortable win was ruined by MA whose logic was bordering on deranged today.

To take off Hackett when he was just getting into the game, Gash when he provided our only chance of scoring, bringing on an RB and DM in their places and to then keep Batt on the pitch for 90 minutes when he had no chance of scoring even if he had Ozil in behind him, was just shameful and embarrassing.

Hackett was just getting into the match in the 2nd half, he set up Batt beautifully for a chance that he skied. However, Carlisle were starting to dominate possession at the time and Allen made the changes to blunt that. Negative I know but it ensured that we saw out the match comfortably.

Absolute bullshit to be fair. We were the better team but neither of us were going to score. You were never winning that.

Tbh I entirely disagree!! I thought bringing on Sessay and moving Hoyte to midfield and the new guy gave us more life and energy. Obviously we had no scorer to convert but I thought it worked for a while. I also thought gash had given it all by then and was very ineffective. Was a big shame we didn't have mclean. The only real positive was our defensive which looked steady. Let's nail the chavs next week!

http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/afdeveloping/refereeing/law_12_fouls_misconduct_en_47379.pdf

Page 28 - If the action is made with obvious risk of injury the referee should caution the player.
If you're getting the rule book out I'll refer you to page 63:

"far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent"

I think a shoulder high challenge far exceeds what could be called a 'necessary use of force', and there was clearly a risk that he could've injured Grainger, so yes, a clear red card.

We would have won that comfortably if we had an actual striker up front, and if we hadn't gone defensive from 60 minutes onwards.

I'm afraid that rule does not apply to high feet and applies to challenging a player who has control of the ball. Which Grainger did not. I think the picture on page 27 might give you a clue as to the kind of offence we are referring to and why a yellow card was correct

I'll look at it again on the highlights, but at the time I was convinced it should have been red.

Anyway,
We were woeful. Batt had the kind of chances in the first half that Akinde buries. Second half we were worse but Carlisle didnt take advantage.

Draw was a fair result.

If we hadn't been flooded in December and lost our momentum then we'd of won comfortably.

Well yeah, being flooded does make it difficult to maintain any sort of momentum, it's difficult to run through water.

Carlisle very much like bristol, huffed and puffed in patches but did nothing with the ball. Never really felt we were ever going to lose however without akinde we looked blunt up front.

Result was right

Good numbers from Carlisle fair play
Although did seem to want a foul for every challenge we put in.maybe they don't like it up em!!!! Ref made poor decisions either way

So you'd have won if you'd played completely differently then. We'd have won if we signed Messi yesterday.
Maybe not because the international clearance probably wouldn't have come through in time for him to play.

I would hope we'd push for international clearance to be completed faster than it usually is for any random shithouse like Mathieu Manset.

Doing what again?

He thinks we get wound up too easily, but can you blame us though?

Every team we play this season there is at least one fan who comes up with a totally deluded, biased and untrue review of our match. Even when we swept Notts County aside 3-0 one of them said that County were the better team and should of won.

They're complete idiots who have sour grapes, just makes them look foolish.
