Tarquin mate! ;)
Hardly a non Bristolian as I've lived here since I was 6 DAYS old!! :told:
I can't see how Wade leaving leaves space for this Barnlsey bloke (Wright?) when he's their current assistant Manager? Pembo to the 21's?

I've had a feeling Pembo would be off as soon as the Johnson appointment was made. I'd be pretty gutted about it!

Doesn't count unless you were born in Southmead ;)
Gashead country! :fing:
I remember going outside Southmead maternity to tell my old man that his first grandson had arrived and all I could hear was 'BOOOOOO'. The gas lost to Millwall the night my lad was born. :)

I've spent my life in various parts of gas land. Horfield, Kingswood, St George for the most part. Rest of the time I've lived on the outskirts, Thornbury, Easter Compton and Alveston, these three being more red than blue from who I've met.

As everyone else put where they're from (sort of) I'm the first of my family from Bristol, my Dad moved here from North London when he was young, he is an Arsenal fan and picked City as a second team because they played in red. Guess you could say that was a lucky escape for me!
Well as its another chance to say it..... SOMERSET LA LA LA!

Well having said that I was brought up in Dorset till like 8 where I barely watched any live football, more just stuff on Sky when I went to my Aunt and Uncle's. Moved to Somerset and my dad started taking me to City games, took a few years to appreciate how much more I enjoyed following and supporting my local side rather than a premier league club.

Cant understand any Bristolian going to Taunton for their cricket. You wouldnt go to Gloucester for Rugger or Cheltenham for football would ya...

Yate born and bred, via spells in Exeter and Clifton. Recently moved to Horfield spit.

I don't disagree fella. I sometimes watch Glos as well but was brought up on a team of cricketing megastars hence my Somerset leaning.

Why not, considering south of the river had always historically been a part of Somerset before Avon was created just 30 or so years ago? Not a fan of county cricket, but I'd definitely go for Somerset considering I was born in it (my family is from Keynsham). When I think Gloucestershire, I just think of Patchway, Filton and other places populated by the blue few. Why would I want to support that?

I understand what you're saying, but Gloucestershire are based in Bristol and Somerset are not, so for me, that was decision made.

Can tell we're in between seasons, we're talking about country cricket for crying out loud! ;)

Ark at all you common folk. I haven't lived in the city of Bristol for nearly ten years. While I love Bristol as a whole I couldn't live there again.

I live in chew and try and get down to taunton for a couple a games.
A decent piss up.

Stockwood. I win. Maybe.
Barrs Court, no you don't!
We're posh as fook around here. ;)
David, I have never lived in the 'City of Bristol' mate. Never have and probably never will.

Positive utopia compared to some places mentioned, Southmead, Horfield, Kingswood, Northern Ireland, St George!
I agree about Norn Iron but the 'Woods alright, not that I live there anymore. :tw:

Most importantly, and so we keep it on topic, Somerset or Gloucestershire?

Yate's alright I suppose. My mums parents lived in Wickwar. That's a lovely place, bloody expensive though I should think!
