Back on the football, this Grabban stuff is surely bollox isn't it? The Cherries paid £8M for him FFS and his wages must be way beyond us?

cant see it unless Bournemouth are prepared to take a £2- 3 mill hit to free up his wages.

I remember when we signed him for £3m, Bournemouth fans laughed and said we overpaid. Then they go and pay more than double that to get him back. Bizarre.

Still not entirely sure what happened here. He did ok for us in the Champ - missed a chunk of the season through injury but seemed to be AN's first choice when match fit. Then Rotherham away happened. He stupidly - and needlessly - got himself sent off in our penultimate game meaning he'd miss both legs of PO semi. Unsurprisingly cost him his place in the starting XI for Wembley. Moving past that, he started our first Prem game. Then Rotherham away happened, again. He went AWOL after being told he was on the bench for our cup game there. Never really came back from that - made a handful of appearances then left in January. Either a coincidence or he really hates going to Rotherham, I'm leaning towards the latter.

Not sure why he would feel that way.
He didn't leave under a cloud and actually left for decent money, supposedly £300,000, not bad for a league 2 player.

Although he got the usual stick anyone would when he was sent off, I don't imagine he would get a bad reception on any return.

He was well liked up here, he just wanted a move back South where he has spent the whole of the rest of his career.
He only came here in the first place because he had worked with Andy Scott at Brentford, so he probably would not ever have come North otherwise.

I wasn't really being serious. He missed quite a few decent chances in our opening Prem game and was dropped. Think he was already sulking a bit before we made the trip to yours and upon finding out he wasn't even starting that game, threw a tantrum (or it was something else that made him go AWOL but I tend to ignore rumours).

From the Barnsley forum...

'Hammill apparently having a medical at Bristol City today. Potentially 0/4 of our starting midfield with us for the new season'.

Good news for us if it's true. No idea where that leaves the likes of Freeman, out of the club?

Hammill should've been announced already as I understood it, so there may have been a slight hiccup somewhere - but I hope they get it over the line.

As for Freeman, presuming we're going to continue with the 4-3-3 which was so successful at the back end of last season, he's a fantastic option to have given he can play centrally, left or right. There's a real player in there as we saw in L1, if LJ can regalvanize him over the summer I believe he could still be a real asset to the club.

I'd say let him trim back down, get his sharpness back and when used (likely as a sub) stick him out on the wing.

There we have it. Hammill's staying with Barnsley, just signed a two year deal. Fuck knows what happened there then.

Maybe he's done a 'Tomlin'? He knows he loved at Barnsley, is settled there and with a new baby imminent he's weighed it up and decided to stay? I've little doubt that we were after him and have probably been used to bump up his wages but worse things happen. We move on.

Looked like he bulked up last summer and it really didn't help him, lost that yard of pace and sharpness

I have to say, Andy S does seem to be publishing stuff read from OTIB at times. His latest 2 'exclusives' (Baker and Fletcher) are both on there.
I'm sure he does more than just take stuff from forums but it does seem odd that as soon as things are posted, they seem to be on the pages of the post.
He also says little Lee is back from Dubai so we might see some new faces soon eh!

Stockhausen published the Toure rumour from otib, he has nothing and is an appalling journalist

Did you know Ajose scored 125 goals last season?

am tempted to start a best of Stockhausen thread

Anyone seen Lee Tomlins' tweet? No official offer has been made. Eh?
Nothing we didn't know mate.

There are talks going on between the club and his representities - Tomlin's not wanted at Bournemouth, he's free to speak to us; but ultimately, if we can't agree on terms then there's no point in lodging a bid in the first place, a la Gray and Gayle.

I see it as a 'come and get me' plea. Was a very random tweet indeed.. He's been getting losers tweeting him every day for weeks begging him to sign, which is extremely cringeworthy..

Totally agree about the 'cringeworthy' but read it more as a 'anyone else can come and get me as I haven't agreed to go to City' plea.
We'll see soon enough I guess.

Fair enough pal, parents parting whilst you're young can be tough to accept. Seems to be the way these days. Welcome back.
