Ended up going in the end. Freeman ran the first half, 3 assists I think. Pack looked assured. Trialist looked lively, but nothing overly special.

Tomlin is just ridiculous. Lowly opposition I know but no keeper in the world word have saved his goals. Good goal for Jonny Smith too, and the Italian ( northern) lad looked alright.

Good afternoon on the end.
Any rumours?

Nope didn't hear a thing.

Blue kit did seem to be ruled out by Scotty though.

If this Icelandic rumour is true and Armentoros (the triallist) signs (got a 1 in 4 record at a decent level and is valued at £850K) plus add a right back and suddenly we're looking half decent for lots of different formations. The tenuous link with Nick Powell could be exciting as well if he finally realises his undoubted talent.
Feeling positive at the moment which is rare for me.

Well that Icelandic player is now following the club on Twitter.. So he's either a massive WUM or it's a done deal..

Come off it. A decent 'keeper would have moved across and caught that free kick.
No they wouldn't have. He put it in the same side against Fulham. You see it all the time, keepers not within touching reach of their near post from free kicks, trusting the wall to do their job. It was perfectly placed.

I think a Pro keeper would have saved the 2nd but probably not the 1st

Yeah it was well placed but it was hit pretty loopily and took an age to get to the goal.

I have never known a set of fans other than Bristol City who incessantly stalk and harass potential transfer targets on social media.
I totally agree El G. Chatting about it on here is one thing but storming all over someones twitter account is plain cringeworthy.

Seen in the squad list thread, Newcastle have 31 players in the list given, wouldn't mind us trying to bring in Armstrong and bring Aarons back.

Can't believe I missed Fulham, already booked it off in September. One I've always wanted to cross off.

I did as well. Planned to go for weeks but my mates that I usually go with bailed.

Will go next season, sure we'll have cracking numbers there again; but still a shame I missed a moment like that one.

Remember Zach Clough's dad leading them on before mugging them all off? Priceless :D
That was quite amusing, the jug eared bastard! :box:
As I said, if you think it's embarassing, how do you think some of us feel? :ffs:

What options were available to him? No other club made a formal offer
My understanding FWIW is that his agent told him to wait as there had been approaches from 'bigger' clubs but Lee T told him he wanted to come to City. That may be waffle but Lee T has said that in public interviews since he signed.

In January he turned down Hull to come here on loan, and then this summer when were fucking around with his deal his agent advised him to hang about and wait for the inevitable offers from bigger clubs who were sniffing around him (Newcastle, Norwich etc). He said it himself.

No other club made an offer or declared a formal interest then?

There is nothing either that reports Hull had tried to sign him back in January. Footballers always recite the same, cliched BS to appease the supporters.
