No, or even anything like it.

I‘m not going to bother replying to that Halifax clown, it’s not worth the battery on my phone.
And there it is, argument conceded with a personal insult. Good enough, now fuck off. :ds:

Not a very convincing "argument". Thatcher LOVED it when she was personally attacked, because that was when she knew they didn't have an argument. :ds:
You're a Thatcher fan? Thought you were a proud Yorkshireman.

That is a huge sum of money for a NL club to owe. Regardless of the £2.2M last year probably largely being down to COVID. £22M in debt?
Should've got on the furlough train.

I think that’s the total losses over time as opposed to the overall debt, which looks around £10m, all to the owners. Which is obviously fine.

Just looking back, we’re going in the right direction. We managed to lose £2.4m the year we got relegated, and that was when we sold season tickets and had crowds all year. :bl:

Read the rest of the thread lad. It is owed to our owners, who aren’t about to call the bailiffs on themselves.
Our debt was also owned to our previous owner. He still pulled the plug when he’d chucked enough at it and gave up.

Jesus that's a lot in a 'normal' year isn't it, was that the last regime?

Pretty sure the majority of the clubs in the football pyramid will owe money to their owners, who in theory could at any point decide they’d had enough and demand their cash back. Think Forest ‘owe’ about £40m to Marinakis, for example.

Yeah. We’re a financial mess and have been for a long time, but it’s probably fair to separate that out from our current owners who have taken on all of the past liabilities and quietly funded the club through a pandemic without complaining at any point. We actually made a (balance sheet) profit of £4m in our first season down here, which will have been due to them writing debts to them off. The £2.2m loss is pure Covid - we didn’t sell any season tickets, were behind closed doors all season, didn’t go for any of the government loans and our share of the grant was the most disproportionately small of anyone. In a ‘normal year’ I suspect that’s pretty close to breaking even.

We’re obviously completely beholden to the owners financially, but that’s no different to many, many clubs in this league and football in general. Almost all of the debt pre-dates them, we’re just lucky that they were willing to transfer it over to be owed to them.

Were the last owners taking money out for themselves or just grossly incompetent? All this talk just makes me glad again that we managed to get away from the last ownership here, just awful, I could see our club not existing right now if the Trust didn't take over

In other mildly covid related news, my partners parents cancelled Christmas Day get together at theirs due to the Covid numbers (her dad's not right well), so missus instantly invited everyone round here instead. So now I've got to cook Christmas Dinner for 16 people.

Genuine query, are deaths still being reported as a person having contracted COVID at the time of their death, or has it now changed? There was a woman on 5 Live a few weeks ago that had recently lost her father in hospital. He was admitted after suffering a massive cardiac arrest but happened to contract it while there, yet on his death certificate the cause was COVID. It isn't genuine to me if that's the way they are still being reported.

Any death within 28 days of a positive test is counted, so that's why they'll have put it down as covid I imagine

Ouch, most me and my Wife have had to cook for was 9 and that was pretty torturous.
Worst part is afterwards though when some are still hanging around but you want them to just fuck off so you can enjoy the rest of the night.

I'm not looking forward to it mate. It's going to take some serious planning. We've not even got a dinner table, so going to have to get camping chairs and tables out. God knows how all the food is going to fit in the oven. It's going to be an interesting day if nothing else. Just keep everyone well oiled and hope they don't notice what a disaster I'm having might be the way

Welsh Labour and SNP seem to have peaked too early with these new rules, last bit of power trip from Sturgeon and Drakeford. There should be a cut off point to this, take your own risks etc can’t live like this forever.
It's mental now. After three jabs and two years it's time to level with the country that Covid is endemic and to just get on with it.

Absolutely. I’m not sure what more we can do? We’ve done lockdowns, we’ve been vaccinated, we’ve done tiers etc. Step 2 of masks in shops etc probably makes sense whilst cases are so high - but anything more is just way OTT.

From full crowds straight to no crowds at the football in an outdoor setting but feel free to all crowd together for the Boxing Day and New Years sales in an indoor shopping centre despite the studies that came back saying sporting events were low spreading events.

Not much science from wee Jimmy Cranky there.

THEY’RE NOT ’YOUR’ RISKS, THEY’RE RISKS TO VULNERABLE PEOPLE, THE HEALTH SERVICE AND OTHER PUBLIC UTILITIES. FOR INSTANCE YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY WITH WHICH TO WRITE THIS SHIT IF TOO MANY ELECTRICAL SUPPLY PEOPLE ARE OFF SICK.

Many apologies for the shouting, but these points do need emphasising. Lots of times apparently.
