We will need a properly managed budget that is for sure. Our squad has been excessive for many years now.

Let’s see where we are once some sense of normality is restored, whenever the heck that is :dk:

Barrow fans seem to think we are entitled to promotion because we've been top since November - even though we're only a couple of defeats off being overtaken.

We got voted out of the league 40-odd years ago and they've resented it ever since. Now they'll happily take promotion on a technicality. Fuck that.

Agreed. My immediate concern is that we all have a club that has some level of financial stability to support at the end of all this, whenever that may be.

Obviously I'd be devastated if we don't go up, and probably resentful if we are denied the chance - but equally, it would feel so hollow just to be picked up and dropped in the league above. And you just know that the EFL and all the other clubs would despise us for it too.

Barrow probably deserve it same as Liverpool deserve the Premier League and nobody could argue against that really.

Have to complete the season somehow, it's that simple isn't it. Not just because of maintaining the fairness of the competition but to keep clubs afloat. Clubs have budgeted for having income from 23 home games etc.

I think Harrogate and to a slimmer extent Notts would be a little peeved at Barrow just been handed the promotion.

Still 8-9 games left and only 7 points between the three teams.

Just saying.

Barrow don't deserve to go up any less than Stevenage deserve to go down. I don't think anybody in the higher divisions would hold it against Barrow at all.

I have no idea where this is going though. It's a total mess.

From I just heard. We may be in the same situation in a years time. We may have social distancing for a year and 6 months of staying in doors.

Nah this season is done. I think next season is done too.

well if that rings true,we’ll have a hell of a lot more than football clubs to worry about.

I think we might be heading for a WW2 scenario where money is actually worthless.
We will be issued with rations for bread, milk, rice etc
People will be enlisted to help with deliveries of food water etc.
Everything will just freeze so no one owes anyone anything.

I've heard that they will start grinding up non-key workers for food, and the sun will be swallowed up by a Dragon as a harbinger of the end of the world.

.. I don't think your predictions of doom are helpful.

Haha. I'd love to live on Fantasy Island right now actually.

Meanwhile back in the UK most of us will be paying through the nose in taxes for this government bail-out for the rest of our working lives.

Here's what will happen.

Everyone will get bored after a few weeks, do the maths and realise that in their short time on this earth, the risk of serious illness or death from the Virus and the reward of freedom is heavily weighted in the way of reward for the majority of people.

I'm not saying it's wrong or right...

Not sure that logic holds with this particular virus.

We'll see.

Unless the police or armed forces impose strict measures, the people will decide...

I am simply pointing out a worst case scenario, but in the same respect not entirely unthinkable.
If you have a better outcome as it stands please divulge.
I don't mean to be a pesimist but when I see people in pubs a day after they were told not to, when I see groups of 8-12 teens walking around through the centre of town, when I see 4 mums with their kids at a playground. Can you blame me for being a little hot under the collar.

Oh and BTW what part of my post was not a good idea? The way things are going shops will be looted before they actually get to sell! We already know people are stealing breathing equipment from Italian hospitals.
Honestly the more people who get annoyed at my post the better, just post your rage on twitter and Instagram. My over the top, defeatist attutude might just help!
Finally I don't really care what you think, I care about our country and in most respects our world. TheEndIsNigh I have never in 20 years been annoyed with a fellow pie, but that flippant, generalised and condescending reply was not needed.

LEP. That last sentence is quite the statement especially with me on here.

Thankfully none of the NCM idiots have found their way onto here. This place would be carnage if they did.

Natural selection thankfully

Well, as you know, I have a bit of an advantage here so i jumped in the De Lorean, fired up the flux capacitor and zoomed along to 2021. Bad news guys, monkeys are running the show by then and they're purging Hartlepool fans looking for the bastards that hung their great, great grandaddy. S'gonna be fun. :woot:

Well if they potentially want to give each other the virus so be it - hopefully they won't start complaining when there isn't enough beds etc to treat them.

I guess people will be fed up after a few weeks which is natural but sure its for a good reason - so long as businesses get help funding the short fall.

Hopefully the talk of having to be isolated for more than 6 months or whatever is just worse case situation stuff.
