Looking at the League 2 table. I'm guessing your quite keen for it to stop to avoid rejoining the tin potters league? :cool1:
Every club has this self interest but lets not get lost in these admin exercises that we're having to do in the lower leagues at the moment.

Here's an idea for Grimsby or Barrow or whoever in League Two, or Stockport or Halifax in the Conference- start winning some football matches.

Can't wait for football to be back to normal.

We'd love to but at the minute the weather is on a crusade to stop us playing any sort of game..
We haven't played for 10 days. Tomorrow is already subject to a pitch inspection at Barnet. Will Dover travel up hear on Saturday given there stance on wanting the season stopped.. Chesterfield next midweek is off because of a positive test in their camp.

One postponement after another for us at the minute.

We've withdrawn from the FA Trophy, cos the FA said we needed to replay the fixture within 5 days but we've gotta self isolate for 10. Makes sense!

We tried that, but it was too successful so we sacked the manager. Surely you remember that part.

Yep, and I'm horrified we've taken that route.

With the 58 teams, is it playing staff they've furloughed like Chesterfield and Barrow? There are lots of staff I can see being legitimately furloughed.

It doesn't sit right at all.

Indeed - players remains completely wrong, but no reason why someone working in, say, executive boxes, bars, shops, ticket offices etc shouldn’t be furloughed.

Be interesting to see - I'd be astonished if Barrow were the only one of the 58 teams using the scheme to have furloughed players.

Pretty outrageous to defend a club like Darlo picking and choosing which games are worthy of them turning up. You're either 'trading insolvent' or not.

Going to be pretty funny if Boris on the 22nd announces a roadmap to having people back in stadiums (i.e. a maximum of 2000 socially distanced) to watch all the clubs clamouring for the season to be cancelled and refusing to honour fixtures change their tune. If socially distanced crowds aren't good enough then these clubs might as well liquidate themselves as I doubt we will see normal attendances for a long time if the experts get their way.

:fl: We play when we want. I’d love to know which game we have chosen not to play? We are willing to fulfill our fixtures until the outcome of the vote is known, much like Chester who also voted for... yup that’s it Null & Void.

Ahhh yes the same Boris that said there’d be no second lockdown, the same man who said cancelling Christmas was inhuman and couldn’t be done, the same boris who said schools would be back in January. Enjoy your 2000 fans back in grounds in April, no maybe May, ahhh look it’s June maybe you could be there for the playoffs. As I’ve said before you get on with it. Enjoy your debt from completing the season, maybe you’ll make the FL and it will be worth it. Or maybe not.

No, he didn't say that. Integrity wasn't mentioned.

He said that we might have to play the tie "if we have no other income coming in".

We lost £50k in January.

What a silly post.

For a start, Darlington have not "picked & chosen" which games are worthy of them playing. We have not withdrawn from any league games. Full stop.

We have also not said we are 'trading insolvent' yet, but I know for a fact that we will be soon.

Your top two sentences are irrelevant on both counts because we have not refused to play a league fixture, and have certainly not done so on the basis we are trading insolvent.

Clubs may well change their tune if they find out they can have fans in. Obviously, this is what they require for income, it is their lifeblood and an absolute necessity to trade. I hate to also break this to you, but this income received is also not actually in the form of a loan either.

If fans are back in then we will most-definitely play on, so will the majority (if not all) of clubs that have voted for N&V. I am guessing from your comments that you are intimating that clubs are using this as an excuse for their league position, which is actually ironic given your clubs' own self-serving interests as 'de facto whip'.

Our CEO says that we are "waiting & seeing" about the National League vote re. the FA Trophy tie.

I would also like you to kindly to point out where we have refused to play a league fixture, but played in the FA Trophy, as per your 'double-standards' comment?

I have.

He doesn’t say we will be definitely playing “because of the integrity of the FA Trophy”.

He says that we are awaiting the league resolution vote, and may consider playing the tie “as we have no income”.

Integrity is mentioned, but you could say integrity is the reason why we haven’t withdrawn from a league game.

Can’t be arsed anymore we obviously see things differently.
Good luck with surviving this season and hopefully all clubs come out the other side.

Having listened to the non league podcast yesterday, if the top priority could be to keep Gloucester and their smartarse chairman out of the NL at all costs, that’d be great thanks.

Absolute idiots. They only had to wait, what, two more weeks before step 2 was declared null and void, relegation was abolished and they could have put shadow sides out for the rest of the season with zero repercussions?

Instead they could quite possibly get demoted for this.

Been saying it for years, Parmenter is a particular type of chairman. The kind of type you can see more clearly when a pandemic hits.

So what happens with Dover now then? Does everyone get given a free win? Or surely the more sensible thing would be to remove any results against them. Sounds horrible to say but surely they have to be relegated/demoted

Given the number of games played, the most sensible thing to do would be to expunge their record.
