Was meant to be watching Askam United v Ambleside in the West Lancs Football League President Cup tomorrow but it's been called off tonight because Ambleside can't raise a team. Askam have been given a bye through to the semis.

Now going to watch Milnthorpe Corinthians v Haslingdon St Mary's instead, although this is pure league action instead.

We play Macclesfield away tonight in the CSC quarter final. I expect we will play a strong team as our youth te only played last night vs Arsenal so I doubt any of them will play (probably a blessing for Macc as they are doing very well)

What sort of team will Macc put out?

We only have a small squad as it is so we are limited. JA says he expects a strong team from you due to last night however he's going to be playing most of the young players with a few fringe players thrown in.

we're playing Carlisle City in the semi final of the Cumberland Cup, in a game the local media are already calling 'El Classico'

Two responses to this, first of all in fairness that would be that badge of the city with different things around it? Not exactly original, but not as bad a steal as some of the stuff on the old forum about shamelessly stolen badges.

Second, I can't believe none of them have had the thought to try 'El Carlassico'. Just amateur.

Oh yeah it is that at least. I feel City probably have more right to it. Secretly I preferred our old badge with the fox and stars.

We need to restart the stolen badges thread, there's a whole generation of posters that haven't yet enjoyed the glory that is the Ibstock United badge.

I'm disappointed now that El Carlassico was never mentioned, as a sporting event it ranks just above the Monte Carlisle Rally.

It is/was covered under the tinpot thread. Stealing badges is obviously tinpot behaviour.

So the #MaccMachine2015 strolled into the Cheshire Senior Cup final tonight after beating Stockport 1-0. Play Northwich Vic's in the final, no idea where or when but I'll post details once released as I'm sure you'll all be clamouring for tickets.

So the Surrey equivalent of the senior county cups is reaching it's climax... Merstham are through to the final after defeating Ashford Town (Middx) in the semi final. Their opponent will be the winner of Molesey v Not Police, which is taking place on 24th March.

Well done, you had to play your first team to beat a side that we would have beaten with our academy. You must be so proud...

Whoosh.

I mean, I was joking but I forgot jokes aren't allowed on this forum.

First clean sheet in 30 competitive fixtures tonight as we breezed past a strong Farsley (managed by a man called Parsley) Celtic side 2–0. The title is ours to lose.

Bit odd to resurrect last seasons thread for it.

We went through in ours. We played Desborough of the UCL, went through 6-5 on penalties after drawing the game 2-2. The embarrassing part is we played a full first team due to the U21's being able to play in the lower junior cup (and players can't play for teams in both). We were at home. Last season we scored 6-0 and 9-0 against them.

Progression is a bad thing though, because it means we have a good chance of playing Kettering, in a game neither team is fit to handle in grounds that can't handle segregation.

How much do fans generally care about county cups? The consensus in Cheshire is that Conf and even Conf North teams don't give a shit and it's a nuisance mid-season. If it was played as a preseason competition like in Lincs everyone would view it much more favourably.

We put our kids out in the cheshire cup

Now you are non-league, don't you have to play the first team (or something like it)? I believe there is a fine of up to £5000 for putting out a weakened team.

You have to play in it to be eligible for the FA cup and FA trophy, according to some of the more knowledgeable types on the Alty forum. It is a real anachronism now, obviously.

If that's the case then it's a rule specific to your county. Aspin and his assistant Nogan played in the WRCC for us last season.

Something I read on our forum. Altrincham put out an entire reserve team in their CSC 1st round defeat in January.

It wasn't 100% kids, Sutton, Ihiekwe, Jackson and Margetts all had first team starts this season and featured in the 1-2 win at Runcorn.

Torquay lost 2-1 to Willand last week in our first game in the St Luke's Devon Bowl. Having disbanded the youth team we had to invite players from the South Devon league to play for us to get past 11 players. Most seemed to be from Watcombe, who at least usually win the South Devon league.

We last won it about 10 years ago, even though there are only three professional teams in Devon. Normally Tiverton or Willand beat our youth team and reserve mix.

Not sure we've got much to report on the tinpot regional trophies front. I understand we're away at Walton Casuals next month in the Surrey Senior Cup. I don't *think* we've entered the London equivalent this year but Paddy may know better.

No London cup again this year. Think we were bored of being perennial runners up in it so we sacked it off a couple of seasons back.

I'm gonna start a 2015/16 thread for county cups - just because.
