We beat Bognor 3-2 (aet) last night to make the final of the Sussex Senior Cup. We face Worthing in the final sometime during May.

The Final of the Derbyshire Senior Cup between Alfreton and Belper is set for April 26th at Ilkeston FC`s New Manor Ground.

Total Anti Climax really. Just undermines the competition ever further. If it needed it.

Tranmere's Reserves actually.
I thought it was quite a strong line up, plenty of first teamers in the line up including GTF...

Turner; Duggan, Hill, Hogan, Riley; Taylor-Fletcher, Mackreth, Maynard, Davies; Margetts, Stockton

Only Duggan and Davies haven't featured for the first xi this season, it was a strong side. Were Chester playing mostly reserves?

Second string side for the most part, eight changes from Saturday.

Beat Shortwood 4-3 on pens after a 1-1 draw last night.

9 first teamers + 2 youth so strongish side. Away to the Gas in the semis.

We face Charlton U21s in the KSC semi final tonight. They knocked us out last year. Winners face Dartford in the final.

Dartford v Charlton it is. Oh well. Just too good for us it seems, although we only had one first team regular playing along with our second choice 'keeper and an ancient Dean Pooley in defence.

Good stuff that! Shame it wasn't a league game you lost! ;)

We was never going to beat Charlton with our under 18s. Especially when they had a side featuring Mitov, Holmes-Dennis, Grant, Hadji-Ba and Ceballos.

McMahon weren't even manager for the game!

Or even a real first team game. Paul Doswell was scouting future league opponents (Dos wasn't at the Bognor trophy defeat either, our only other loss of 2016)

Maybe he can come down with a bit of flu on April 16. ;)

The draw you've all been waiting for...

I wish they'd stop playing the final during the season. It does no-one any good and all that happens is sides generally play the kids in it.

Our youngsters beat Gloucester City (I think they had quite a few reserves out as well) 2-0 on March 8th and we play Slimbridge in the Quarter-finals. God knows when that will be.

We play the Derbyshire Senior Cup Final tonight against Evo Stik First Division South side Belper Town. The game is to be played at Ilkeston FC`s New Manor Ground after no league ground was avaliable for use.

It will be our 9th triumph in the competition should we win tonight.

We play Stockport at Nantwich Town's Weaver Stadium in the final of the Cheshire Senior Cup tonight. I can't see us playing too many of the players who would be on the bench, but those first teamers who haven't played in a while may supplement what will probably be a fairly young side. If we were mathematically out of the playoff race, we may have played a few more senior faces but I can't see anyone who could have a role to play on Saturday getting a game.

Hope we win it though. It's always nice to win a trophy, even if it isn't the most glamorous cup in the world.

We had the same thing last season, 6th place in the table going into the last week of the season and needing a win in the final game to make the play offs. Of course because we hardly had any money, we had a very small squad and so we had to play pretty strong sides in every round of the CSC, including the final against Northwich Vics. There were a few players who appeared in the final and then went on to play in the match at Torquay on the final day of the season. I doubt you'll need to play a lot of the same players in both games like we did.

Alfreton 0-0 Belper (Alfreton Win 4-3 on penalties)

Well that was absolutely dire. Very little interest, desire or passion from us. Matt Duke kept us in it first half. We began to threaten in the final 10 minutes as Belper began to tire but it was too late.

Decent penalties from us. Excellent save from Matt Duke to win.

We looked to embrassed to win in truth.

But we are 2016 Derbyshire Senior Cup Champions

Chuffed for the lads they deserve a bit of silverware even if they didnt show why tonight.

At least you won. We lost to Stockport, no idea which first teamers were playing though.
