Froome just looks too strong, with a helluva team around him. Be surprised if Tejay bothers him too much. If there is a challenger still think it'll come from Quintana or Contador and hopefully we'll see a few big attacks this week, but it's a matter of just staying on his bike for Froome.
Agreed. Froome has also come out and said that due to his advantage over his rivals he doesn't need to be too aggressive either, he can play the defensive game if it's needed.

Ivan Basso leaves the tour after being diagnosed with testicular cancer today. Hope he's ok, hopefully caught early enough

Reports say it's a small tumour so hopefully it has been caught in plenty of time. Bet he's thankful for that small crash he had now.

Froome really destroying the field.

A minute ahead of 2nd place in the stage and well ahead overall.

Very impressive.

Brutal stuff from Froome. I thought he'd gone a little too early but my word he romped it. He's that far ahead already, he shouldn't lose it from here. Also Richie Porte haha cheeky little smile knowing he had Quintana in his back pocket.

Dominant performance from Froome, he's put himself in a great position. Is anyone good enough to catch him?

Porte second and Thomas sixth as well, Sky's team looks so strong.

Brutal from Sky, absolutely brutal.

Not only Froome and Porte but Geraint just sitting and pinning back the chasing group.

Sky could well be doping in one form or another but the last person who should be commenting in any way on the issue is Lance Armstrong. He's a psychopath.

Plus Nibali won by like 7 minutes last year and nothing was said there :) People just have it in for Team Sky to be honest.

There has to be questions asked though with the history of the sport and previous performances like this.

That's not true, there was loads of insinuation and more about Nibali last year.

Froome and Sky look bloody strong, and 3 minutes is a damn impressive lead at this stage but it's too early to rule Quintana out - yesterday didn't suit him as much as some of the stages to come will and he does tend to get better as tours go on.

Well you can't count anyone out, all it takes is one crash and the whole thing is turned on it's head. At the moment Team Sky are proving to be too strong.

Tomorrows stage will tell us a hell of a lot. Three big mountain finishes in a row is going to be a huge test for everyone. There's still only 4 guys in contention, just Teejay takes the place of Nibali who has struggled big time.

Today's stage looks like a killer, definitely has the potential to shake things up at the top.

Froome with the help of another excellent performance from Thomas staved off a few potential attacks.

Weather was a bit of a nightmare at times.

I thought Sky were going to lose their battle against everyone else today, they did well to hold off all the challenges.

Just another day at the office for Team Sky really. They all played cat and mouse with those mini attacks. They all could have attacked more too, but they obviously didn't have enough to do so.

They got a nicer stage tomorrow too so the GC guys will be bunched again.

I didn't think any of the leaders were struggling today. I just took today as a show of intent from Movistar. Valverde's going to try and punch the lights out of Sky before Quintana attacks next week.

So that's Porte than got punched now that to Froome? People really have it in for Team Sky don't there? It's brilliant to see another British Stage winner. Cummings timed that beautifully to take that victory, brilliant stuff.

Fucking bitter wankers, not helped by the French press and media especially continuing to suggest that sky may not be clean. Hope Froome continues to dominate and cav sticks it to them in Paris as well.

Langeveld tweeted 'Today I saw a spectator spit on @richie_porte very disrespectful those guys don't deserve this at all! Please stop, or stay at home' earlier too...

I doubt Froome would be saying he will allow everyone to see his "results" if he was cheating....

Its a shame as cycling is now very popular here but there will always be that nagging doubts.

Bit like everyone in football is a cheat/ unloyal etc.

I don't think anyone really has a problem with Cavendish. He's pretty popular in France.
