Blyth Spartans vs Ashton United

Colwyn Bay vs Salford City

Darlington vs Workington

Grantham Town vs Barwell

Marine vs Hyde United

Mickleover Sports vs Frickley Athletic

Ramsbottom United vs Whitby Town

Skelmersdale United vs Buxton

Stamford vs Halesowen Town

Sutton Coldfield Town vs Nantwich Town

Some good games on tonight. A tough one for us against workington. Hopefully with home advantage and at least one CB fit for the game we can get a good result.

Other games of note. Blyth v Ashton which could be a close game and Sutton Coldfield v Nantwich. Both of whom have had a really strong start to the season.

Glad to see Barwell are occupied tonight as well as us, would be pretty annoying to go in to the cup match with them well rested and us tired out from a Tuesday game.

Based on what I saw and heard of them, I don't fancy Ashton too much against a top side at that level unfortunately for you guys, despite recent seasons achievements

Att. 1051 - Darlington 4 - 0 Workington

Att. 163 - Grantham Town 0 - 5 Barwell

Att. 290 - Marine 2 - 3 Hyde United

Att. 154 - Mickleover Sports 0 - 1 Frickley Athletic

Att. 222 - Skelmersdale United 2 - 1 Buxton

Att. 237 - Stamford 1 - 2 Halesowen Town

Att. 153 - Sutton Coldfield Town 0 - 1 Nantwich Town

Results from tonight. A good win for us against a solid Workington side. Good wins as well from Salford away at Colwyn and for Nantwich away to Sutton Coldfield. Draw for Blyth against Ashton means we go back to the top of the league.

Good win again last night. 2 more for Lee Gaskell, who is proving a great signing, and one each for Nathan Cartman and Leon Scott. Top of the League, and I still don't think we've played anywhere near the football we are capable of. Very tight league though, so ability to grind wins out is valuable. Yet another home game against Mickleover Sports on Saturday.

Nantwich got another point, 1-1 vs Marine, they seem to be drawing games but they are still right up in the mix.

Weekends results:

Att. 116 - Ashton United 1 - 0 Stamford

Att. 278 - Buxton 0 - 4 Blyth Spartans

Att. 1010 - Darlington 2 - 1 Mickleover Sports

Att. 219 - Frickley Athletic 3 - 1 Sutton Coldfield Town

Att. 303 - Halesowen Town 2 - 1 Skelmersdale United

Att. 356 - Hyde United 5 - 0 Ramsbottom United

Att. 335 - Nantwich Town 1 - 1 Marine

Att. 181 - Rushall Olympic 2 - 1 Colwyn Bay

Att. 276 - Whitby 2 - 1 Matlock Town

Another good win for us. We didn't play very well but it's always a good sign when you pick up results when playing badly. Keeps us up at the top over Blyth Spartans who have a game in hand on us.

The goals of have certainly dried up at Nantwich but an important win last night, 1-0 at home to Stourbridge with goal coming in stoppage time. Matty Koslyo is attracting interest from Crewe, Port Cake and Rochdale, which would be a massive loss for the dabbers if he was to leave.

When Darlo eventually play Barwell you need to get crosses in and test their 'keeper. He's frankly very poor. Just a shame for us that the guys in front of him were pretty good! Nice club, nice fans and a good team. Expect them to do pretty well unless they were just turning it up for the cup.

The games in he division today. Unfortunately our game has already come a crop of the weather. Also worth noting a congratulations to Salford who did the division a great credit yesterday by deservedly beating Notts County. And good luck to the other teams still involved in the cup.

4-0 away win for Nantwich, leapfrogged Darlo but have played more games than most of the teams around them.

Club captain for the past three seasons, Gary Brown has returned to Darlington having left pre-season for Shildon, having stated the travelling was too much following the birth of his new daughter. Apparently he missed the club too much, and wanted to come back so he has no regrets later in his career. A whole-hearted, very good defender, he will certainly strengthen our defensive options. We have also signed Wilson Kneeshaw, following his release from Chesterfield. We had him pre-season, and he looked the business - very quick, very tricky, and with an eye for goal. Only young, but hoping he can kick on and make us some money in the future. Definitely has the potential to play higher. Scored on debut midweek in the 2-1 league cup win away at Blyth Spartans. Leaves us a bit top heavy, with quality forwards in Armstrong, Cartman, Gaskell, Dowson, Purewal and now Kneeshaw on the books. Think a few may be offloaded from the squad overall - Rob Youhill has gone on the transfer list. A very pacy, tricky winger, I'm a bit disappointed he's going, as he was a great entertainer (will remember his attempted Rabona from outside the Penalty Box against Ramsbottom for a long time) but he hasn't had much game time, as he doesn't fit Martin Gray's profile for his widemen, in that he doesn't always track back. Playing style reminiscent of Chris Waddle, he'll be a good signing for someone at this level.

Nantwich with 3-0 win over Hyde last night, to put them top of the league albiet every team has games in hand. Salford were held to a 1-1 draw at home.

Nantwich scored an incredible 68 goals in all competitions.

Just read on the Evo Stik website that Darlington have been deducted 12 points suspended til the end of the season for fielding an illegible player. Have I read that right Darlo fans?

Its suspended so won't come into force unless they do it again this season. The fine isn't so they have to pay that now.

We don't lose any points unless we do it again. Very positive outcome for the club, many fans were scared of a 12 point deduction. However, we have avoided that. We're still very much in the playoff mix and have one of the best squads in the league imo so we can look forward to a very positive second half to the season. Still think Salford should be the overwhelming favourites considering their resources. But a move back to town is far more important for our future than a promotion this season so a playoff finish no matter the result would be a good result.

Darlo got away with it, but the theme of the season appears to be clubs getting away with fielding ineligible players. Letter of the law is 12 point deduction and it's what it should have been in truth.

Big fan of Darlo but I am afraid Jemfy is right. Absolute double standards from the FA this year.

Wasn't there something about Concord Rangers getting away with it as well.
The FA are wank. If they'd dealt with the Eva Carneiro thing properly Jose might have been punished for that and still be in a job.

Think the stupidity of having to obtain intrrnational clearance for a player coming from a team playing in the English leagues was recognised in this instance. The player was registered with league corectly, but because came from Cardiff City we should have got intrrnational clearance. He had no outstanding disciplinary issues. He had also played for Doncaster prior to joining us which muddied the waters a bit. Common sense decision for me.

Nice to have a game to talk about at last. 3-1 win at Hyde today, with a Lee Gaskell hat trick.

Went to the Blyth v Darlo game, narrow 1-0 win for Darlington but in reality if Blyth's keeper wasn't in blistering form it'd have been way more comfortable. Nice goal by Darlington.

Great win for us today against a strong Blyth team although they were missing Mcguire. Means we can go level on points with them should we win our games in had. Really strong performance down the spine of the team. Phil Turnbull is more than a class above this level and our CB's won almost everything.
But certainly think with Cartman, Gaskell and Armstrong we have one of the best strike forces in the league. Lots of reasons for optimism.

Gaskell's goal was really good, the Blyth keeper was not letting anything through today and it needed something pretty special, nice control before finding some space to curl it into the top right corner.

Wonder if we'll get a home game on this weekend. None since October...
