Hanging on at 4-5 down in extra time - Farman keeping us in the game with some great saves. Gonna be tough to get anything now as our players look drained.

Some good efforts from L2 clubs so far this weekend.

Congrats to Hartlepool for earlier on and hope you get a good draw.

Mansfield have received massive credit from Wilder and their fans, nice to see a set of fans and management admit they were very lucky to get away with it today. Can think of a few of you lot down here that could learn from that

Barrow were very unlucky and it was a great watch, well done to Hartlepool I’m not sure on Blackpool team but they are a solid championship side so a great win.

Bloody good effort that from Barrow, the least their efforts deserved was a replay.

Robbed of a penalty by the ref, and robbed of a replay by the PL primadonnas.

Looks like a bit of pushin' and shovin' at the end between the two benches. We never had a sniff in extra time and the result was fair - overall we've got to be pleased that we can do that against a Championship team with only 10 men.

mansfield we’re really unlucky today,

After getting sunderland and doncaster away to get to the 3rd round drawing a miserable middlesborough side we’ve done ourselves proud.

Be more mansfield!

We weren’t great but pleased we made a good showing of ourselves considering we have 14 fit pros available, a make shift defence and no manager (due to Covid).

Could easily have taken P’boro to extra time a few times, I see why they’re struggling at Championship level.

Fair play to Barrow today, what a game it must have been after being down to 10 for most of it.

Really proud of our effort today, first half we were a bit leggy and shown them way too much respect but defended well enough and a little irritated to be 1-0 down from our own error on half way.

Second half though we came out and played some great stuff, Pinnock was torn apart by Wozza and once Politic and Harratt came on we were playing them off the park. Frustratingly though we end up 2-0 down on the break as we push.

Heads could of dropped but we kept going and young debutant Harratt scored a superb header after Politic turned their full back inside out.

Right from kick off we got possession and had a shot narrowly wide, then a long punt and Politic went clean through, rounded the keeper from 40 yards but off balance spooned the shot and their lad got back to head it off the line.

Brentford we’re rocking and we were murdering them but on the break Mbeumo goes through and kills it.

Penalty then adds harsh gloss but great effort and the football second half against a top flight side was superb to see.

Atmosphere in Vale Park was rocking and we need to try and keep some of them for the upcoming games.

Worrall excellent, Harratt had a dream debut and looked a real handful and Polotic didn’t look out of place.

Considering the opposition, injuries and not playing for a month I couldn’t really ask anymore of the boys today, hopefully use that level as a springboard into some key fixtures.

Fucking love the cup.
Great game at vale today.
Lost, but, so what.
Great fun.
The Brentford fans we came across we’re sound as.
Drinking in our pubs and having a laugh.
And we shit them up a bit when it was 1-2.

Absolutely leathered!

Great Pools performance, especially the second half, I'll pray to whatever God wants to hear it, please, please give us a good draw in the fourth round, I'd take a paggering at the Etihad or something, anything but some shite like Plymouth away!

I want to get to the 5th round first, something we've never done before. Then I'll happily take the paggering.

Hartlepool deserve a good earner in the next round, hopefully there’s enough to go about for Cambridge and Kidderminster too.

I'd be happy for Kidderminster to get the Old Trafford tie in tomorrow's draw. We can always play them in the next round.

And by "them", I mean Kiddy.

Exactly the same as visiting them at their place in the League Cup...for me they are the best team in London, love their new ground as much as the old one, fantastic place to go and watch a football match. We also had them worried, going in 1-0 up at half time they did exactly what they did today, brought on Mbeumo...who is a class act and definitely made a difference. No shame in losing to Brentford.

No I mean the end of the day we threw on a 19 year old kid for his debut at any level above non league and they throw on Mbeumo and Ivan Toney! Different world isn’t it. Defensively we had them worried, if at 2-1 Wozzas shot that’s saved but hits the post goes in then it’s different but can’t fault the third goal on the break as we had to try and go at them and always the risk.

Their support was poor today in numbers and noise but still about 3 times what they used to bring to us when they were shit. In one way it sums up why I wouldn’t want Vale to end up like that in that you end up with thousands who weren’t there during the days of struggles and likely more day trippers and takes away from the real fans. Our time came and agonisingly went in the mid 90s for a top flight spot.

That said Brentford is an example of a club arguably as small as Vale if not smaller that’s achieved the so called dream, so it can be done and they’ve granted spent money to a degree but some incredible recruitment has meant not as much as some.

The noise at Vale Park today was great, the Paddock was rammed, surprised only 7000 home fans from how packed it looked but was always going to be a harder sell being one of the lesser attractive Prem sides as we’ve played them millions of times in recent years… in context we took 1000 more to the Etihad so it was a shame it wasn’t a bigger name to really have VP packed out but it’s been a good journey this season, two league one sides dispatched, one of which we hit for 5 and hopefully we can build and learn from today into the league campaign.

I enjoyed today, I was flat with the draw but it was good fun. I’d missed it these long few weeks.

Full strength apparently

A good win but I wasn't buzzing about it must be said. We'll probably just get fucking Boreham Wood and get shithoused in the next round and if we by some miracle get a big draw which we never get, I don't think much if any of the proceeds would go to the club.

It was a good win for Lee and a better performance (second half mostly) from the team, it's something that needs to be replicated in the league also, no point performing well in cups and being dirge in the league, truth be told Blackpool missed a hatful of chances, same lad missed two open goals, he somehow managed to hit them both high and or wide from 6 yards, they looked decent on the attack and we were a bit rabbits in headlights chasing shadows for the entire half.

Second half they just didn't come out and we capitalised, jammy equaliser with a big deflection and an 18 year old youth product getting the winner, when the highlights come out I really, really hope they show Mike Fondop's injury time chance, springing past the Blackpool defence, tearing towards goal with only the keeper to beat, he's finally gonna score, everyone was buzzing, he's finally gonna do it... only to somehow scuff his shot and it just bobbled towards the keeper :pmsl:

Now, give us any PL team at home or one of the big lads (or Boro) away, that's it, no one else

That is a good point about their recruitment. They spent a number of seasons at the top end of the Championship not quite making it into the Premiership and sold their best player but recruited wisely. Watkins went to Villa, Maupay to Brighton, and I have no doubt that Toney would have been sold if they hadn't been promoted last season.

As for the size of the club, some of the biggest sides in the country are in the Capital, not just in financial terms but also fanbase...you could argue that they are the smallest club in West London. I guess your comment about the fans is fair, though I didn't quote it, pretty much every club will grow support when they are successful...it is just the diehards that turn out when the club is struggling, or not playing at a high level, and I think that applies to just about any club.

Just clicked on due to Hartlepool being in the 4th our game in February will be moved to a Tuesday, so it’s ruined a good away following from our perspective!

Orient doing a good job so far. Breaking on Stoke and creating some decent opportunities. So long as stick at it Stoke look there for the taking.

Strange atmosphere with so few home fans there. Like watching one of the iFollow streams from the behind closed doors games of last season. Can hear every instruction from the bench.

Thought the Salford home support was bad, then I came to Stoke...
Genuinely embarrassed at their turnout.

Shame Orient have been rather wasteful in front of goal. They’ve had plenty of opportunities. Stoke have been shocking. They are so slow. You certainly can’t tell which team is the Championship one and which is L2.
