A very entertaining cup tie against Cambridge. End to end game and a cracking atmosphere, our best of the season, to match. Some good football on show and a fucking atrocious referee to boot.

Probably give it to yourselves or Oldham who did a great job at Ipswich.

Vale sticking 5 past Accy though isn’t too far off even if it probably won’t register in the same way.

Had 20 shots and could have won by 4 or 5, but terrible finishing we’ve only got ourselves to blame. Good performance against a good team who barely threatened but for a couple of chances near the end and in more clinical fashion actually put one in…

Shame about having to have a reply but a decent game and performance, the ref was actually decent today as well wish we’d had him last week.

Exeter fans were very good throughout, better than their players for 80 minutes.

Come on. Surely coming away from mighty Bratfut with a draw qualifies as the biggest cup upset since we earned a replay at Old Trafford while a non League club back in 2005!

So we’ve not won away all season and then go and win at sunderland 1-0.

And for the 2nd successive season

Two wins on the bounce and a run of games against teams generally struggling, gotta try and get a run going now.

Less than three thousand Yorkie Bars at Valley Parade?
How embarrassing - I thought you guys were a "massive" club. Just be grateful that 238 intrepid Grecians made the long, long trek Oop Norf to lift the total number to slightly less tinpot levels.

Actually shocked how low that is, obviously you take a hit against a fellow L2 team in the FA Cup but that’s ridiculous.

Derek Adams will be consoled that he kept Matt Jay quiet and they won on expected goals.

Decent performance from us today and feels more like a defeat, felt like Wycombe underestimated us, gonna be really tough to get something from the replay.
Still a 2 horse race, not over yet.
In Sweens we trust.

Not our greatest display against Ebbsfleet, but we was again efficient enough to win the game and get through, we had a few chances in the second half to kill the game which we should really have done, which led to a nervy finish.

Ebbsfleet played well enough, but I don't remember them apart from the first 5mins testing our keeper. Ref made a few generous decisions, but didn't buckle from Ebbsfeets 15min spell when they decided to go down for everything which usually happens in non league when a team doesn't feel they're getting themselves back into a game.

One thing over the years which I've seen go down in the FA Cup are the crowds. 25 years ago we'd get around 4k/4.5k for a home tie regardless of whom it was against, these days we're lucky to scrap together 2.5k.

Win at Sunderland is pretty impressive but wait till you play Stockport the biggest club in the NW.
Could be a long wait mind.

My theory is that there are a lot more season ticket holders these days, so people are reluctant to fork out money on additional games.
Unless of course they draw Man Utd in the third round!

Fairly dreadful and turgid stuff at Brunton Park. A couple of second half goals spare our blushes but at no point did we look in control and I'm struggling to see what Keith Millen has done, I know it's early to judge, but the change in style when Skelton took over from Beech was more noticeable. If anything we've gone more long ball again.

Was being a bit pessimistic earlier - this game has been a piece of piss really. Into the hat for the next round.

Just paid a tenner to watch two teams devoid of ideas spending most of the game giving the ball to each other.

I've not looked at the official stats but from memory that was four shots on target total...that's both teams. It the first round of the fa cup. For gawd sake give it a go!

The only complaint about the result is that both teams deserved to lose. Having said that. Tranmere could point to a classic away win. Set up with two banks of four and a withdrawn forward and look to nick a goal...but honestly poor from both teams.

I note that the BBC site has the attendance as a mere 3,236. I thought Bratfut were a mahoosive club!

Easy. All the more reason the EFL should cut away from the pyramid and scrap relegation to the "plucky non league scene."

Pull the drawbridge up now!

Hayes & Yeading v Sutton was a poor, poor game. Fortunately we’re through, and that’s all that matters.

Funny it’s only other fan bases who talk about us being massive, can’t say I’ve ever heard one of our fans say that. About standard that crowed for us in the cup, looked like there were less there tbh, decent following and noise from Exeter though.

A polite request to Devon Lad.
If you are going to lift my comments on Exeweb please, at least, rephrase them in your own inimitable style rather than just repost them (almost) verbatim.
I'd hate for anyone (especially my Labour Party friends) to think that we were in any way associated.
Thanks in advance.

It was as bad as it sounded on the radio then? We ended up playing with 5 defenders and at least 2 defensive midfielders. Still it stops the rot for us, I suppose.

Any Dale fans about on here? Totally out of the loop with this league now obviously, so just wondering what kind of team they are and game it’s likely to be tomorrow.
