A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
I wouldn't want to call FM16 a broken game (especially as i'm currently averaging 3 goals a game), but I just played Cambridge United in the Cup and they had Alessandro Del Piero as their main striker. ALESSANDRO DEL PIERO!

I hear he always wanted to test if he can still do it on a cold wet Tuesday night in Accrington.

Answer was no, Genk accepted my bid of £500, but he wouldn't drop his wages down to what I could afford

Did the "Saviour Cometh" just now, stayed up from 10pm till 5:30am doing it non stop with Orient.

Finished 22nd, 4 points clear, very pleased. Tom Hitchcock came in on my 3rd day in charge and finished the season with 11 goals. Dean Cox also grabbing 7 with me in charge. Joined mid January after 26 games played, sitting bottom on 10 points. Won 11, drew 2, lost 7. Went all guns blazing approach and managed to get 39 goals in 20 games. Brought in a few in every position, got us firing up front and settled the back four. Going to continue this and see if I can get us promoted. FM is so fucking addicting, even though my view always bugs out every time I go to tactics or squad. Still haven't fixed that from FM 15! Shambles.

Really recommend doing that challenge, enjoyed it a lot. Just don't sign Gary Taylor-Fletcher though, he's fucking shocking!

Anyone else getting LOADS of red cards? It's definitely a bug as it's always 2 yellows.

More than normal, yes. I've had two red cards in 8 league games so far, both due to double yellows.

AI seem to be taking a ridiculous amount of long shots against me too for some reason - even though my tactics aren't very defensively. Games end up with like 25+ shots to the opposition with most of them being long range.

Ok, been playing a bit more and am starting to get to the point where the amount of yellow/red cards is making me think if the game is broken.

Just had 4 games in a row where there were 10+ yellow cards between my opponent and I. 6 reds in those 4 games, all down to double yellows.

I have two players who have had yellow cards in every single league game they have started.

that's odd, as I'm sure I've averaged 1 yellow per game at most, game is definitely broken though, as Adam El-Abd only has 2 bookings from 11 games, ad even won man of the match once.

Edit- just over 1 per game, 32 bookings in 28 games, did have one ridiculous game where I had 5 booked, 1 sent off for 2 bookings, and the other team had 7 booked and 1 sent off for 2 bookings, referee had a match rating of 2.5 or something for that

Finding a few odd things. First 14 games of the season with Brentford, half the squad injured but scored 32 goals and won 10 games.

Next 14 games, only got 8 goals and won once. Same tactics...

I've been ridiculously inconsistent too.

I'm 13th in the league with Reading, most goals scored, highest GD and have the top 4 players in the league for average rating. Make sense of that.

I started off like that, my first 14 games in all competitions was 4 wins, 6 draws, 4 defeats, then went 10 unbeaten in the league, lost to a team in the relegation zone and am now on a 4 game winning run. 5 games left and I could mathematically still go down, yet am 4 points outside the playoffs

Played 8 - won 6, drew 1 and lost 1. Not played well at all in any of them - proper grinding out results, and I'm just signing any old bastard on loan to fill up the numbers and bolster the squad for me.

I'm with Tranmere FWIW.

Just won 12 of my last 14 to shoot back from 12th to 2nd.

Very strange. Either the tactics machine is very sensitive (only made very minor tweaks) or they haven't cracked consistency yet...

My record against the bottom 5 teams is terrible as well

Sounds a bit buggy. I'll hold off for a bit, I think. At least until the non-beta release.

Only bugs I've had so far is a couple of times players have been running, but look like they aren't moving, and one game I went to make a sub with 35 minutes left and when I got the game going again the possesion bar jumped fully against me, the team I played had 100% possession for the rest of the match, ball didn't go out of play at all, no highlights.

Finished my season, took over Barrow about 15 games in, 15th place and was given a target of mid table, finished 10th despite losing 4 of my last 5 games, 10 points away from playoffs and 14 clear of the relegation zone

I've had the keepers turn in quite a few crosses from the byline as well. Can be very annoying.

2nd season in with Orient, we were top for about 2 months but mid November went on a 5 game loss streak, it was the worst the squad had ever performed. Players were just not turning up, even though the squad is a League 1 quality team. Kieran Agard and Michael Jacobs on loan, Paul Huntington and Baudry at CB and some quality wingers in Cox and Mitchell - just couldn't stop conceding stupid goals.

Ipswich came in for me though as they were sitting in 19th place, I joined them as Orient was frustrating me and we have picked up 10 points from 12 possible, happy days.

Does no-one else have the bug where when you go to tactics all the like sorting is messed up? It sorts randomly and has "picked" players all over the list. The fix for it is to drag a player in and out of their position on the tactics screen, which then fixes it until you try to change anything else. Really bloody annoying.

It's the beta in all fairness, there are bound to be a lot of bugs all over. That's why I've not even started a save yet.

Won't start a big save yet, just scouring the leagues trying to find some fun teams to start with. Sassuolo look a good bet on this one. And, of course, any team that you can sign and fit Pione Sisto into (although it is kind of cheating to sign him)

Had the same bug in FM15 though, it's just frustrating they haven't fixed it.

Just beat Preston 9-1! What the fuck!

I was going to say, I had the same thing in both FM15 and FM16. It is quite annoying.

Quite a few people have mentioned crazy scorelines, but I haven't experienced it just yet. If anything, most of my games are 1-1 at most.

I've had a couple of big ones, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Agree that the "form" engine seems a bit broken. Had a couple of long winning streaks (8 or 9 games) and losing streaks (8 or 9 without a win) in the same season...

Decided to give 16 a go, the 15 save file is a bit repetitive with Utd now. Had started one, but decided to start over and go down the route of generally buying younger players. Still going 4231 as standard for my teams on FM.

Signings:
  • Joe Dudgeon - Free
  • Chris Eagles - Free
  • Gael Bigirimana - Loan
  • James Wallace - £1.8m
  • Ben Nugent - £1.7m and loaned back to Crewe
  • Jake Sinclair - Free
GK: Hamer
RB: Moore/Ayling
CB: Flint/Moore
CB: Baker
LB: Dudgeon and Bryan in rotation
CM: Wallace
CM: Smith
RW: Eagles
CAM: Bigirimana/Reid
LW: Freeman
ST: Kodjia

Just finished my first year as Brentford boss. Had some crazy runs in the season, won the league on the final game. Only signing was Gayle for £3.2m, also got Hooper and Loftus Cheek in on loan in Jan.

Finding the transfer window this year tough. Djuricin wanted £35kpw to make his deal permanent, same ridiculous demands from a few other players. Very tough.

I had the same thing. I came second in my first season at Burnley, and was subsequently given near 20 million to spend, but attracting players of quality was difficult. My two big signings were Jesus Corona from Porto and Patrick Bamford. Also managed to get Jedinak and a couple of other signings. I really struggled to find the quality bargains that I'd usually look for at this point.

While nowhere near the same level, I was given a budget of 400k at Barrow for my second season, compared to 20k the previous year, and hadn't done anything notable in my time there. I got the job 15 games in (started jobless) and got a 10th place finish (target was mid-table), reached the 3rd round of the FA Trophy (target was to reach the third round) and reached the FA Cup 2nd round (target was to reach the first round).
With the 20x increase in transfer budget I have almost identical targets as last season, except the board want to reach the FA Trophy 4th round this season.

Even weirder is the fact that at the end of the first season in my game, Spurs were named as the richest club in the world. They hadn't won the league [or even qualified for the Champions League] and they hadn't been taken over. They just suddenly became super rich.

Korey Smith has picked up 10 yellow cards in about 15 games, so 2 game suspension by the start of November.

Wonder what managing the Italian lower leagues is like in this one.

Just a thought.

Just wondering, is all.

Transfer window got a bit better, Austin (Free), Trippier (£3.4m), Haller (£4.5m), Will Hughes (£8m), Stambouli (£5m) and Kasim (Free). Pretty good but will need a couple of loanees I think.
