Update on Covid-Gate;

It appears the reason we are in 14 day quarantine may be because we didn’t follow the guidelines properly in the first place.

What a surprise to see it may have been our fault after all.

3 points awarded to the Bantams and Cheltenham then for refusing to play us?

I think there were/are a few chairmen who agreed over the phone to do as we've done, but have bottled it, leaving us in the shit. Just a hunch but not far off the truth?

Says the guy who's obsessed with likes...
What are you basing that off? The fact that I've got loads more than you? That's probably more to do with the fact that you're a bit of a dick to be honest.

Or the fact I don't spend every minute of every day on the fucking forum like you?

Go fuck yourself.

What happens if Grimsby are unable to fulfill any of their fixtures due to covid 19 by the time the season ends? Do they get kicked out of the EFL?

Club statement:

"We've changed things here, the young lads are off on a different site. I'm absolutely delighted we didn't get any sort of outbreak that could have been possible, and anyone that's criticised us should shut their mouth.

I've heard Billy Clarke's having a moan at me from Bradford - shut your mouth Bill. You should put people first, that's how I feel.

We’re looking at who we’ve got to play, how we’re going to go about it, and at the minute I can’t teach it all in two days.

At least we’re better off than Orient, they had two hours last Saturday, that was the only preparation they had. How is that not bringing our competition into disrepute? I don’t understand myself.

I’m sure it’s going to happen to a lot more clubs than just us and Orient. It’s not that we’re shoddy or wrong, we haven’t done anything wrong.

We only had one case, so what did we get wrong with that? How can I control where he got that from? What I can control is if we’re on a bus and going down somewhere, that is too much of a risk.

If that means we have to go by Government rules when football hasn’t been going by them – I’ve had to suck that one as a very bad tasting sweet, but that’s what we’ve done, and I think we’ve come out of it stronger.

I’ve got my gloves on so I don’t touch anything when we’re bringing it all in, and then we spray it all down again. Yeah, I do it well, we do it well. We weren’t sure whether we did, but we did do it well.

I’d like anyone to come in front of me now and say that you didn’t. Prove it.

And for anyone to say ‘we should get the points’ I think you’re absolutely pathetic. When it happens to you, I won’t be crying about that.

Call that football? I don’t. We’ll see on the day when my team plays your team, we’ll see what you’ve got to shout about then.

Too much background noise when they should just shut up and get on with whatever they’ve got to get on with, and how dare people pick holes in us when I care about my players, I care about my team and I care about everybody."

Yeah fuck off Bradford. And fuck off anyone that accused us of trying to get the season cancelled.

We had something very close to this last season before the pandemic. At the start of the season just like this one
we had games Saturday, Wed, Saturday, Wed....We played the first three then Postponed the Doncaster game on the second midweek due to Duty of Care to our Young Players. At that stage we had 4 senior players and the rest kids.
Doncaster fans filled every forum demanding everything from having the points without playing, or kicking us out of the lge.
[what goes round will come round]
We started the season on _12 points and at this stage we was on -11
We was always going to be relegated that was not why we had the game postponed.......Dont think Grimsby did too much wrong here.....bar that statement. No way is that official

Its a bit like your forum where lots thought you should be awarded the three points after last seasons first game at Lincoln was called off late due to torrential rain. By all accounts it was our fault the rain was late, torrential and persistent that it was unfair for the Bolton fans already in town and en route to call the game off. We have a lot of fans that travel several hours too but it doesn’t matter about those.

Maybe that’s why your ’fans’ caused lots of trouble in the city that day too?

I think you may have an issue perceiving sarcasm.

No one genuinely wanted the points for adverse weather.

It was all a bit tongue in cheek. Mainly because of the Doncaster game.
Games postponed by the weather have happened since the game began.....Only read what went on at the Anchor in the local press/ forums. Think that those involved will not be causing trouble any time soon all thankfully got banning orders.

Just had a quick scroll on the Bradford forum, great reading, 19 pages dedicated to us.

Apparently they’re ‘not going to face the same side as last time as they’ve had time to finally make signings’.

We’ve signed two players since, our 12th and 13th of the season:lol:

Hopefully this new Grimsby - Bradford rivalry is as fierce as the Fylde - Darlington one on the NL section.

Reminds me of when Rotherham tried to start a rivalry - that was just as tedious.

We’ll take it though. *Although, we’ll be playing Huddersfield in L1 next season and the L**ds c*** the year after.

*more chance of platting fog.

How incredibly unprofessional and embarrassing.
Yes, how incredibly embarrassing to have a manger who speaks from the heart and in this case makes perfect sense. How cringeworthy and utterly ridiculous to prioritise wellbeing over football.

Funny how you're the common denominator in both of those scenarios...

Dan Phillips in absolutely shit boring retort shocker. Whatever next. Maybe you might actually go on to address what was embarrassing about Holloway there?

Fair play to Tranmere today, playing at Salford despite some players testing positive. Very good point for them, well done.

Grimsby are an embarrassment compared to Tranmere and Stevenage. Holloway, unsurprisingly, lost the plot with his bizarre rant this week.

Yep, fair play to Tranmere being told that they could get a 15 point deduction when they tried to postpone the game so decided against it (not that I blame them)

Begs the question why were Grimsby not told they risked a 15 point deduction, or 30, for failing to fulfil their fixtures against Cheltenham and Bradford City

I think the EFL have opened up a big can of worms for themselves about not being clear about the possibility of a 15 point deduction. I’ve no doubt other clubs will be treated differently should a similar situation arise again.
