As long as you do the same on Tuesday that's fine by me .

The way we played yesterday and have done vs. Alty twice already this season, there's a decent chance we could well do!

Three poor goals defensively, especially ours, both were laid on a plate by our players.

oh well that's the conference for you, inconsistent and poor performances from players at both ends cost you games.

Fair point, one from an attempted clearance that literally placed it on Frear's foot, a dodgy back pass and a headed own goal, albeit from a well struck free kick.

I thought that it was an entertaining game between two teams who were definitely not happy with a draw, also what proved to be the Rovers winner came at a time when Grimsby looked the stronger team. There were plenty of good performances on the pitch, from both teams, but the margins of success and failure are fine at almost every level of the game and yesterday that proved to be the case.

How many does that new stand hold Eastleigh fans? Looks much deeper than I thought it would be when it was just the frame

Why it doesn't show the winning penalty I dont know
Cracking finish by Connor Jennings too, be great if we actually played him upfront for once

There were enough shots hitting the woodwork and being cleared off the line for a whole season of matches.

"...a wonder goal!" Fuck me.

The whole move was 3 passes! Good first touch, I'll give him that.

Lovely.
We are quietly turning into a team that scores classy goals and is hard to beat. Jennings, Ashton and now Evans. Three crackers in three games. Long may it continue.

Whole thing wouldn't have happened if Saville didn't make that atrocious attempt at a clearance. It's little things like that which are costing us at the moment.

Draw was probably a fair result, looked to me like one of your defenders didn't keep up with the rest and played Wright just onside for Hughes' goal

Yeah fair enough looked offside from our point of view but obviously wasn't, you guys had the best of the first half and we had the best of the second, fair result.

McKeown doesn't know how to dive for penalties does he. He would have been still nowhere near that even if it went in on that side, his eventual position is still almost in the centre of the goal even though he's 'dived' right. Great save later on though, but could do better for the goal. It's not 'blasted in', it's a bit of a daisy cutter and he shouldn't be beaten from that angle even though it comes through someone's legs.

Mckeown has never been good at pens, but then it looked like he was originally going to go the other way and changed his mind which is why he was still really in the middle of the goal, I suppose a keeper is never favourite though so don't think it matters too much.

Looking at that it was never a pen, it was 50/50 and he had already won the header and gone wide before Mckeown's momentum took him into him, but can see why it wasn't red as N'siala who should have dealt with it in the first place, was back covering.

As for the goal, looks like Mckeown saw it late through his legs and couldn't get down in time to save it. Almost looked like a Grimsby Town home side v a Grimsby Town away side there.

Ball was definitely out of play before it was crossed for their goal, as can be seen by the pic below. A draw would have been a fair result I reckon but thing like this happen in football and no point getting really wound up about it.

Why does it say Sean Newton is starting at left back for Grimsby in the lineups?

Oh and Les, that still pic doesn't prove anything - certainly isn't conclusive anyway.

It does look out, don't get me wrong, but a lot happens between it going out and the goal. Poor defending to blame as well!

Not a great header away, failure to close Lockyer down and McKeown should probably have done better with the shot given that its at his near post.

I heard on Match of the Day in midweek, I think, that it doesn't matter if the ball is not in direct contact with the line as long as part of it at least covers it. For me, that photo above is inconclusive as to whether it truly was out of play, although I must say it looks decidedly close.

Another shit goal to concede. Exactly as said above, poor clearance, Robertson made almost zero attempt to cut it out and McKeown was hours late. For a team that specialises on being solid, I wouldn't say we're looking particularly solid at the minute, which is certainly not a good thing when we don't have the luxury of scoring goals to make up for it.

We were in the Main Stand and from there we were all certain it had gone out, but from the highlights I think he actually kept it in.
Either way, we should have played to the whistle instead of standing like statues.
And the goal was definately coming anyway, had that been disallowed they would have just scored later, we were all resigned to it!!

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

All of the ball must be over all of the line.
