We've started pretty well in the north, 2 wins and a loss, we should have won the other by all account as well. Gonna try and get down to my first game since January on Tuesday.

So the whole ridiculous FARNBOROUGH saga drags on again, with their CVA hearing scheduled for today (Monday), now put back 'till Wednesday, which is the same day as the FA are due to hear their appeal against the Ryman Leagues imposition of a £30 grand bond. Apparently the FA were waiting two days after the CVA hearing pending the outcome. ... Will the FA now wait 'till Friday ??? ... Bloody joke, East Thurrock are due to be playing them at Rookery Hill on Saturday .. I suppose that will be another game to bite the dust, although maybe not, who bloody knows. .... What a feckin mess eh.

I still can't believe they've got the front to boast about making all these expensive looking new player signings, while still pleading poverty, and offering their desperate creditors 1 point whatever pence in the pound to clear the squalid debts, run up by their own incompetance.

And there was me thinking that the Enfield Town saga, which did so much damage to the reputation of non-league football at the tail end of last season was as bad as it could get.

Appeal rejected, fixture suspension remains in place and 7 days to pay up.

Good bye Farnborough (again). I'm sure this won't be the last we see of you as phoenix club 2.0 will undoubtedly reach senior non league football before succumbing to the exact same fate as both Farnborough clubs before it.

''Following the dismissal by The Football Association of Farnborough FC’s appeal against the decision of the Ryman League to require a £30,000 bond to be paid, the League can confirm that the bond has now been paid to the League.
However, the League has received formal notification from the Supervisor of the CVA that the CVA was yesterday varied to the extent that creditors will not be paid in full which is a requirement of League Rules.

The League are therefore charging the Club for failing to notify the League of the application to vary; the Board will also consider what sanction to impose as a result of the successful application to vary the terms of the CVA.

The League Board will hear the charges next Thursday (August 27) with the Club invited to attend the hearing to present their case in person.''

What a shambles :ffs:

Some big scores in the Isthmian on Saturday. Bognor shipping five at home and the four all draw between Leatherhead and Canvey stand out. Hendon look to be picking back up again from where they left off last season.

Decent gate at Dulwich too considering the weather, shame about the result!

About 30 Leafe travelled to Merstham for our game with Walton Casuals, and if weren't there, no one would have been.

A decent 2-1 win, their goal coming from a 95th minute penalty

How the hell can you go from smashing Plod 7:0 to losing at W&F?

1-0-3 record after 4 games but still have a positive GD...

Hmm, dunno. Presumably we'll get a bye if they can't fulfill the fixture...

We won 3-0 tonight at home to VCD. Not sure we could have had a more erratic start to the season.

this sort of thing happened to us before with Croydon Athletic Cricket Club a few seasons back. They withdrew from the cup & we got a bye to the next round... think we even may have been given the prize money for winning the round too.

We've been drawn to face Hendon at Earlsmead in Round 2 of the Alan Turvey Appreciation Super Challenge Cup sponsored by Robert Dyas.

Another disappointing display from Dulwich and an absolutely shameful performance form the ref, Mr. O'Brien. Loads of yellow cards and 2 red cards in a game that wasn't particularly dirty and some extremely bemusing decisions from said Mr. OBrien! Danny Waldren got himself sent after getting a second yellow for for a stupid challenge; he's club captain and supposed to be our marquee signing, but his distribution is poor and he makes some poor choices. Grays keeper should have been sent off for a deliberate hand ball which stopped Nyren Clunis from scoring an almost certain goal and Grays scored an equal;user in they fifth minute of injury time. Grays look a good side though and will challenge for the league this year in my opinion. AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I know it doesn't quite work like that, but it's kind of amusing to see you complaining about the number of cards given out in the game as a whole then complaining that their 'keeper wasn't sent off!

Blast! You caught me being hypocritical again! Seriously though, I think there were 10 bookings and 2 sending offs in the game, and the only challenge that really deserved a card was the incident with the keeper and he should definitely have been sent off rather than getting a yellow. Beware of Mr. O'Brien! You've been warned!

Oh dear. Doesn't really look like we're going anywhere (except possibly down) under Williams. Looks like this season may already be a bit of a write off.

Went to Staines v H&R today. Great game marred by a dislocated shoulder for the Hampton CB in the first half that needed an ambulance called out.

Was surprised that both teams played decent football. Have been to many Conf South games over the past couple of years and teams are far more likely to play kick and rush at that level than the Isthmian.

Staines went 1-0 up midway through the second half before Hampton scored in the 90th and 93rd to win it. Harsh on Staines but they were perhaps a bit too intricate when attacking earlier in the game.

We got out of the division by hoofing the ball at Jay May, and out of the South before that by hoofing it at Shaun Welford. Perhaps where these teams of ballers are going wrong ;) .

Think you must've been lucky in your pick of games, plenty of hoofball merchants in the Isthmian with varying degrees of success.

Hello, things looking surprisingly good for us so far, the result at Tonbridge second game of the season is looking really good. Off to San Marino this weekend so am going to miss the game at Leiston, where no doubt the slide will start! Honestly don't think we can stay top but should hopefully at least equal last season's showing.

Only 3! you must be poor!.... was at Longmead on Monday when the Angels absolutely slaughtered VCD 7-0.... and it was one of those games when it could've easily been double figures if it wasn't for their 'keeper!

Well, we beat plod 7:0. So there.

Tbf we've been so inconsistent so far this season so I was more relieved we actually beat VCD than upset we only beat them 3:0!
