Reckon he's going to replace LVG in the summer. United will be tired of their endless rebuilding by that time.
When you have an unlimited budget and want quick success, there is no one better than Jose.

Disgraceful to sack a league winning manager 6 months later.

Players should have gone and Mourniho given more time.

Are we going to be carrying on this argument over two threads now?

It wasn't an argument, it was me pointing out the facts and you struggling to come to terms with them. And still do it appears.

Why would United hire him? The reason they didn't want him last time was his conduct, and it's not like that's improved. It's got worse. This season he's been more immature, unprofessional and petulant than ever.

Really think he'll struggle to get another job in English football. He's absolutely toxic.

Thoughts on this people? Seems harsh to me.
what I'd like to know is, do the Chelsea owners think they can get top four, even by getting a new manager? My worry is, not many managers in the PL are capable of winning the league, mourinho could win major titles, even if some people think he's won most of them by managing already great teams or teams that have had a lot of investment.

It's just ambram not accepting a season where he has nothing to show for it and manager who doesn't believe they can rescue it. The next few matches without jose won't point whether Chelsea are much better without their club legend, their showing in the FA cup (how far they can go) a competition they've won many times will define if this group of players still have a winning mentality and the fight to get back to where they were before this crash. We have to question the confidence of the blues players, does it explain why Hazard isn't half the player people thought he was last season, is he over-rated? Or is it really Mourinho, and his relationship with the players that has damaged these players to not play to their best.

What they got rid of was a manager who doesn't know how to get a team up from miserable football to a mid-table finish. What they need to pull their season together is someone who has managed teams in similar situations and kept them stable in the league. Ladies and gentlemen...

Mourihno isn't media savvy enough to be the United manager and Bobby Charlton isn't a fan of the bloke, so that's him immediately off the list. Pep will get the United job after they sack/get rid of LVG - unfortunately. The Chelsea players clearly got arrogant and comfortable after last years title winning and cup winning season - Mourihno tried to bring them down a peg or keep feet on the ground when they didn't perform so well at the beginning of this season and they didn't like it, so they spat dummies out, turned on him and became increasingly worse over the last 6 weeks or so.

For sure Mourihno is arrogant and annoying, he is whiny - but he's also a tactical genius, he's an interesting character and he's good entertainment value. I like him. It's a loss to the league when you have boring dross like Pulis and LVG filling air time each week. Chelsea are stupid to sack him. He should have been backed in January to bring in a few players and then the summer to try and turn it round and build a squad again to battle for the PL/CL for the next 2-3 years.

Stupid.

Chelsea wouldn't have gone down under him, not a chance. They'd have still finished top 10, easily.

He might get the Man City job if they boot Pellegrini and Pep snubs them.

Why would United hire him? Because he's a world class manager.

Fergie went on record as saying Mourinho had already agreed to return to Chelsea at the time he announced his retirement, so didn't even bother asking him if he fancied the United job. He'd be ideal in making them genuine title contenders again.

He's always been petulant, it's not like that's just appeared overnight. But it's obviously a lot more noticeable when he's took the champions to one point off the relegation zone!

I dunno. If there's a poisonous element in the group it'd still be there if he brought a load of new faces in. You can't sell a whole team and bring a new one straight in. Even if he wanted to rebuild, there'd be a transitional period where the older guys can be in the ears of the noobs with their 'this guy's a dick' patter.

It's regrettable in many ways, but not sure Chelsea had any choice if he had indeed lost the dressing room, which seemingly every observer from outside the club reckons was the case.

Really? I thought Mourinho was desperate to go to United but got overlooked because Charlton didn't like him (and specifically cited the Tito eye-gouging incident).

He's a world class manager, but is it worth it? United are very proud of their 'class' and Mourinho guarantees discord and controversy.

I imagine he was desperate to join them and still will be, but at the time he had no inkling that Fergie was giving it up. If he had been told a few months before then I imagine there's a good chance he would have taken it. Can't say I've heard anything about Charlton's disapproval before, though.

I think it's worth it just to get rid of van Gaal to be honest.

That's Charlton on Mourinho. Fergie does seem to be good mates with JoMo though, so perhaps he's the one to listen to. Idk.

Really good (but really long) Jonathan Wilson article about Mourinho, pre-sacking - https://t.co/tGa3IFYMCd

Includes some interesting stuff re the United job, again not sure how reliable the sources are.
