We loved him at Lincoln, one of those wingers that seemed to excite the fans with his skill and an eye for a goal. He stated his desire to play as high as possible but then left us to sign for Salford and the money (which I guess most people would) where he hardly played. If he had stayed and carried on as he was going at Lincoln, he could have possibly got that gig higher up.
Attitude/ ego problems.

Our under-18s currently being investigated over racial abuse towards the England players on their Snapchat group on Sunday night.

I've seen a screenshot and it's disgusting. Seems pretty easy to identify the individuals involved from what I've seen. The club need to sever all ties with those involved immediately. Anything else would be pathetic, frankly.

I’ve seen what was said too, that’s career ending stuff for those guys. Hope it’s dealt with swiftly.

How the fuck can Charlton spend over £500,000 on car leases? Spent half that on players! Jiggery pokery afoot!

Well with just over a fortnight to go to the opening game of the season i see nothing to be scared of in this league.
Some big clubs who have basically no team and are on a total rebuild.

Ipswich and Charlton are proberbly a little ahead in the betting..........Shef wed have not lost the players i thought they may............yet Wigan have improved but i dont see them better than us.
Portsmouth, Oxford and Lincoln seem weaker will be a interesting couple of weeks.

We played Preston yesterday and had 6 players out with covid. Doyle Politic yet to figure at all
I just dont see how players will be fit come Aug 7th

We had an online fans forum tonight. Lowe said two interesting things.
First, in terms of recruitment we have a “policy of no knobheads.” His answer was responding to a question re social media usage, and I think he wanted players who were low maintenance behaviour wise.
Second, he said one club, who have recently come out of administration, are paying extraordinary wages for players. he indicated that he could not really understand how they could afford it. Any ideas who he might be talking about?

Yep, rivalries go out the window here. Hopefully it's been caught early and it's a routine operation like he says. Just goes to show that this disease can get anyone, Appleton looks absolutely nails. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
Yep too right all the best too him.
Plus also despite him being Lincoln Manager I really like Appleton, comes across as a really top bloke in interviews and I also remember him scoring the equaliser for us against Man City when we had him on loan from Man Utd.
Hopefully a speedy recovery.

I suspect you are both right, certainly that was my initial thought. If so, i’d be very interested in how Wigan fans view things?

Don't think such a thing exists, at least not on this forum. I think they pushed the boat out for Charlie Wyke, I imagine he's on a whack wage wise.

Like most fans of clubs like this. They won't care. Then in a year or two, when there skint and being deducted points it will be all the EFLs fault and everyone will be made to feel sorry for them.

The main problem is the lack of punishment for the bigger clubs that vastly overspend. It’s hardly even a wrap on the knuckles when it gets to the time they cannot afford to pay things back.

It then often shafts the smaller businesses and the little man by clubs then paying a few pence in the pound back when it all goes tits up. Then it’s rinse and repeat again and again because there’s not a real penalty for the bigger clubs that try to cheat the system.

No names mentioned for which clubs do this, but you know who you are!?

I will have my say for what its worth.......Wigan went into administration without owing ANY money to any creditors.
All there assets got sold off Euxton [great delight in that being sold off] Numerous decent players sold on the cheap. England international youth team players taken without any real fees.
The owners have come in and are now taking a big gamble to get out of that league. If it does not come off i can see the new owners getting out sharpish and Wigan going belly up.
In all fairness just like us,Swindon and 30 teams before us, there have been owners playing fantasy football with money straddled to the club for years to come !

We got overly punished as we weren't one of the "big" clubs in the premier league. We were punished by points deductions more than once for being in admin. Punished with points deduction for coming out of admin and the Premier league and Football league sat back with slopey shoulders having allowed 3 lots of crooks to run our club into the ground. One of which never existed. We all questioned where Gaydamaks money was coming from, but did the Premier League? course they didnt. Too many owners get away with running up costs to get success, then when it doesn't work, pull funding and leave the club with mountains of debt. FA cup was great and we were not complaining at the time, however it wasn't difficult to google convers sports and find out their CEO was being investigated for fraud..

The problem the EFL have is most of the time they don’t have any option BUT to OK new owners. We have almost gone kaput. Lee Power is as crooked as they come and would have happily let the club go into oblivion. We had one prospective owner willing to take the club on. He appears to be squeaky clean and transparent. But if he was Lee Power Mark II and the EFL turned him down the club would have died.

As I've always said, the football creditors paid first rule is the worst in football.

You pay all your debts off to every creditor, if you can't, you go bust and start again like any club in France, Spain, Germany and Italy.

But clubs in this country get chance after chance. Some then end up being bought by extremely rich people on the cheap which is an insult to well run clubs as these clubs end up heavily distorting the market with obscene spending.

I think administration should lead to automatic relegation at the very least. 12 points off just isn't enough.

I cannot agree more, the one thing that would stop it completly over night and is very simple to implement is if a chairman/owner wants to buy a player for say £1m it must come out of the clubs finances. No finances no player.
If the owner then wants to buy said player out of his own wealth then the club will not be saddled with the debt

Those rules are already in place via SCMP.
Have been for many years
Unfortunately some clubs seem to just flout it and EFL are too weak to implement it properly and enforce proper punishment.
