Shez will only leave us for County if we are in absolute deep shit behind the scenes.

Given Corney is known for bullshitting us fans and stringing them along, I reckon it's true.

Worrying. Fuming. Yet unsurprised.

I think Plymouth fans are overly critical of Sheridan sometimes, he's a good manager and proved himself as one over the last 10 years at this level, that isn't easy. He may have bottled the play-offs once or twice, but you were in a relegation scrap when he took over, and he certainly left the club in a better place.

I'd argue Notts are in a scenario where they need someone to oversee a transition at the club - based on last season they're not in a place where they can seriously think about promotion or storming the league at this point. He never leaves clubs in a worse position, often better, which is an achievement in itself.

Think its a very good appointment.
I agree he is a good manager at this level, no debating that and for the period that Notts are going through now it's a cracking appointment as he will certainly steady the ship and improve, it's his forté. I didn't realise things were that bad there and thought perhaps promotion would be the aim within the next 2 or 3 seasons, which I don't think he'd be the man for. Every Plymouth fan with half a brain (not many of us I know) knows that Shez did a great job for us, just a lot of people fell out with him because of his disinterested persona and lack of transparency with the fans.

There must be something going on at Oldham for him to move down a league and further from home though I think.

Didn't he win the league with Chesterfield, or have I made that up?

He did I think, though I've read from others that the Chesterfield side that season would have had to be doing something really wrong to not go up.

That's a better record of promotion than Jamie Fullarton, so I'm in.

Very good appointment IMO. I reckon Trew must be in it for the long haul and is going to back his new chief exec

Yeah looks like RT is going to stay and chuck another load of cash at it to try and make something work.

BBC Nottingham say he will join County in 48hrs.
BBC Manchester say they've been told by Latics that County have not made an approach.

How weird...

It's not that weird when you think how shit local media sources generally are. Ours reported we were being taken over by Americans a month ago and well...we didn't

Also, how often are official channels used. Tapping up of players happens all the time

BBC tend to be pretty sure on something like this before they go with it, though. I'd be inclined to believe them.

This surprised me. Wilder turned down Charlton because Sheffield United made contact, whilst Nigel Adkins was still in a job...

Sheridan to be announced either today or tomorrow, then.

A fine appointment that doesn't exactly square with being up for sale and under transfer embargo. My best guess is that RT is in the process of collecting together his toys and having another go at it.

Surprising.

I thought he'd be pretty set at Oldham for the next couple of years at least. I'm assuming something must be happening behind the scenes there or promises weren't kept.

I'll never be surprised about a manager leaving Oldham. I'm astounded one's wanted to join us though. Unless something interesting is imminent we've got a shit trigger-happy owner unwilling to fund the club anymore and a squad which can be best described as utter fucking trash

Happy with the appointment though obviously. I just hope he proper hates Jon Stead. I want Jon Stead gone.

What a bizarre appointment.

He did wonders in his relegation battle with Newport last season though. Given how the club is right now maybe that makes sense.

Why is it bizarre? Looks like a good one to me.

Only odd thing is that a chairman wanting to sell has gone all out for a manager.

I think Trew is in for the long haul

Just in The fact that he was at Oldham and had done well for them.

His 3rd club in a year. You 2 should be a match made in heaven

It's a bizarre move from him, great appointment for us though. Probably the first one that Trew has made on paper.

Finally Notts County maybe just have a manager that will last.

Good appointment. I'd expect you to challenge for the playoffs next season with him in charge.

Not with the squad we've got we won't. We need to get rid of a good 10 that are under contract somehow

Hope we now start ripping contracts up left, right and centre. Let him go mad.
