Winger Mitch Pinnock has rejected a new contract at Kilmarnock to sign for us, seems a good signing

Well we paid a fee for Danny Rowe albeit it was only around 50k ish.

Looking at the list of strikers who hit double figures last season, I can only see it being Matt, Bowman or Quigley as I imagine it'll be a proper number 9 type.

Could be Brett Pitman. Lolz

Foyle when he was manager at Vale was brilliant at recruiting strikers to be fair to him. It was the rest of the team he was an absolute disaster at though we are talking a long time ago now so that may well have changed.

Yeah Tin Foyle had that disaster of a season in 07/08 recruitment wise, signed Shane Tudor and Justin Miller based on one game (which I think we won 3-0!) against Orient. Disasters. Rocastle, Paul Edwards… horrible time.

The greatest striker we’ve probably ever had though when you consider the level we were at.

You will love him.

Not sure how much in it but he often had great games against us, especially for you guys in a couple of 1-0 wins at VP, one we absolutely battered you if I recall and he just kept everything out! Would be a good replacement for Brown. It’s crucial we get the keeper right after letting one of the better ones we’ve had in years go.

I think it could be Quigley. Usually he's all over Twitter but hasn't mentioned a thing about the new signings - including his ex-teammate White.

John McAtee has agreed to join Grimsby, as he's 21 we will receive compensation for him.

I would have been gutted this time last year but he was a disgrace last season, his and a lot of other players lack of effort was the reason we struggled so much.

He will probably turn it on for Grimsby though knowing our current situation.

I think there's a good chance of this too. I think we were definitely going to have an offer tabled for him one way or another.

We’ve signed AND paid a fee for Maidenhead winger Josh Coley. Looks decent and only 22 so has some resale potential.

We’re also close to an experience Keeper too. Scott Brown maybe?

If it is Brown then I don’t think there is a single Vale fan who would wish him other than the best. Great professional and possibly the nicest person in football. Had a sticky spell for us last season which coincided with our mid-season slump where it seemed like his decision making was going awry but recovered to finish strongly and truthfully I was surprised we didn’t keep him on.

Only Rhys Bennet and Omari Patrick are still considering new contracts. We were resigned to losing Bennet anyway. We've still got a full starting line up pretty much under contract, losing some of our better players but not a full scale exodus.
I see Patrick has signed for the mighty Burton Albion

May go there but he came to us because he wanted to be closer to his Wolverhampton roots didn’t he?

I’d be pleased enough with Brown. Seems to still have something to offer and I hear whoever it is will also have a coaching role, so we’ll see. Other names mentioned include Frank Fielding but I’d imagine he would get a L1 club.

Can see us letting Bowman go for £50k

Scott Twine has turned down our (almost certainly pitiful) contract offer and is signing for the Franchise.
Can’t say I’m that fussed. He’ll score the occasional howitzer but he failed to get involved in virtually every game he played for us.

There's every chance he could be on holiday, and with two years still on his contract it's going to take a very good bid. But I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave in this window.

Barrow may have acted too soon appointing a new manager. Give it a couple more weeks and they could probably nab Chris Beech off us too
They should have taken Beech til Xmas to get a nice lead at the top of the table then brought in the new guy to see the season through properly…

Bite their hand off if they are offering 50k.
Yep I’d go along with that. He has his good points, but £50k for a player who’s around 30 and in the final year of his contract would be a no brainer.

Can't say I'd be thrilled if it was him. Looked a bit of a donkey against us.

Too good for this level when he's "on it". The reason he isn't playing higher is that sometimes he can be a bit of a donkey. He could have had another 10 goals last season if he buried all his easy chances, I'm sure.

Vigoroux rumoured to be linked with Vale.

Bit confused as to why he’d make a sideways move like that. Great signing if you manage it like, but I don’t know why he’d go anywhere other than League One.
