Anyone spotted Fil Morais yet?

Still contracted to Crawley (two more seasons) but our manager has stated that he hasn't even met him. He will be one of our highest earners and I'd imagine, if he is not showing up for training and games, we would not be paying him but I wonder where that sits with the salary cap.

Casey

I’d have him back at City.

so his football IQ is on a level with Tom Pope's tweets then?

That kind of idea. Shame as I like Woolery. Reckon he could be a decent enough lower league footballer, fast, deceptively good in the air. Just has a habit of running off pitches and being an awful finisher. I’m not sure if he is a striker or winger, perhaps when he works it out he maybe useful.

I’m in the pro Woolery camp. But if Wellens does indeed want 4 more players he’s one that needs to be offloaded.

We’ve signed Wolves midfielder Terry Taylor on loan. If our loan signings are anything like Holloway’s last season then our squad is starting to get something to feel slightly excited about.

There’s more to come as well apparently, including a senior signing who will ‘peek our interest’, you’d guess it’ll be a centre forward, god knows who.

"Aston Villa close to deal for Brentford striker Ollie Watkins. Fee is an initial £28m which could rise to £33m with add-ons."

CHING CHING CHING CHING :£:£:£:£:£:£:£

£28m - £1.8m = £26.2m * 15% = £3.93m (Worse case scenario)
£33m - £1.8m = £31.2m * 15% = £4.95m (Second worse case scenario)
£28m - £1.8m = £26.2m * 20% = £5.24m (Second best case scenario)
£33m - £1.8m = £31.2m * 20% = £6.24m (Best case scenaro)

You've already explained once that you don't understand how tax works in football mate. It can get spread over 2 financial years and is put onto our P/L. Couldn't have come at a better time for us re the taxman. Didn't you post something like 40% is going to the tax man :woot:

What are you on about. Why am I evening responding to your trolling I will never know.

Corporation Tax at 19% on net profits for the accounting period.

The windfall we get would go into the club's turnover and form part of the Profit/Loss in any one business year.

This financial year will also be a good year to receive a windfall as much of it will be used on what would otherwise be hefty losses. And I believe it was suggested you could use losses in the following year as well (?) to reduce tax due to Covid.

It looks like we could be in for an additional £1m according to the Brentford forum.

"Exeter are also due 3.5% of the TOTAL fee as a solidarity contribution as he was there for 9 years through the youth system "

I assume he's referring to this: https://resources.fifa.com/image/up...2018-2925437.pdf?cloudid=c83ynehmkp62h5vgwg9g

21 Solidarity mechanism
If a professional is transferred before the expiry of his contract, any club that has contributed to his education and training shall receive a proportion of the compensation paid to his former club (solidarity contribution). The provisions concerning solidarity contributions are set out in Annexe 5 of these regulations.

According to someone who worked at Brentford's sister company at the time of the sale, the sell on is 'definitely' 20% and not 15%

This is turning into one hell of a Tuesday.

According to this we will be due Money from Arron Ramsdale [15m] Arron Mooy 7.5m who we had as youth players. David Brookes and Rob Holding are also lined up for moves this summer.....happy days

If Exeter are getting 3.5% for 9 years investment then I doubt you are looking at very much -

You released Ramsdale at 15.

Also Mooy was only at Bolton for 2 years.

David Brookes was brought up in the Man City academy and never played for Bolton that I can see?

Holding was brought through the academy at Bolton so Bolton could be on for a decent windfall here?

Are you talking about the 9 years of development? You released Ramsdale aged 15 so wouldn’t have thought so?? (I could be wrong here)

You only had to have the player on your books or Educated him in any way....David Brookes was with us before Manchester City.
Plenty more plying there trade in the football league

Presume we’ll get something from Bogle as well based on this.

Kaiyne Woolery is the latest rumour round here. He has posted on his Instagram that he is staying at our defender Manny Monthe's house. Probably nothing in it but id be happy with that.

We all remember him ripping us a new one playing for FGR at Wembley.
There’s something about ex FGR players at Tranmere, they’ve all been a success.

Not in lockdown....pubs shut etc
No restrictions on travel....Wigan,Manchester, Bury etc will just get Numpties from Bolton filling there bars

It is in lockdown - it has also been made illegal for people to socialise with anyone outside their household after the government turned previous advice into law. I think it began to spiral after you signed Andrew Tutte.......
just saying

Nearly all, Traore being the exception that proves the rule, though recall he had significant family issues at the time.

According to ITK on Brentfords forum..

So my understanding of how the fee gets broken down is:

"£28m. 3.5% to Exeter (taken off the price by Villa and paid to Exeter direct) = £980,000

Remaining £27,020,000 paid to BFC

We pay 20%(?) of profit to Exeter:
Profit is 27,020,000 - 1,800,000 = 25,220,000
20% = 5,044,000

Exeter therefore get: £6,024,000
Bees get: £21,976,000"

Add on the £1.8m we got upfront... Total sale of £7.8m for a league two player. Incredible.

Potential for it to go up another £1m if Ollie activates all the £5m sell on fees for Brentford, too.

What a absolute deal for Brentford and Exeter.

I’ve always liked Watkins but that’s a huge gamble by Villa.

Is all the money upfront to Brentford/Exeter?

Not a bad day for Exeter, Still piss myself everytime I think of Ollie Watkins and Evans claiming we'd bid 300k for him the January Transfer window before he left for Brentford

Remember the Andre Gray rumours when he was still at Looun?
