Pereira is a massive signing for us. Absolutely integral to what was good about us at the end of last season and we hadn't managed to replace him so far. Him and Banks on the wing is a mouthwatering prospect.

And to think we’ve still got the likes of Jamie Walker, Abo Eisa and Osadebe to come back from injury.

I think Harratt will return to Huddersfield in Jan.

No business today for us.

Think the club and manager are fairly confident that the squad as it is can stay up.

I’ve heard we’re trying to sign Jephcott from Plymouth.

This could cause a snowball effect if we somehow get him as I think that would pave the way for Harry Smith to leave.

Sounds like Mikey O'Neill is joining Grimsby on loan.

Really hopeful for this guy, plays just off the striker and likes to get shots away, really calm and confident on the ball. Made a handful of appearances off the bench for us and looked totally unfazed.

The first time I've ever known us to not really need any new players. Fans seem content that we're doing no business at all today.

So are Swindon and FGR allegedly.

That wouldn’t surprise me. Harratt looks a good finisher but we'd need to change the whole system and style to get him in the team which shouldn't happen.

Sounds like he could play the McAtee role while he's out if he's good enough.

We’re the same. Can’t remember the last time we had such a relaxing deadline day.

We’re desperate for at least one striker but the only one we’ve been linked with is heading to League One apparently.

Scott Quigley is also heading out the door even if we don’t sign anybody apparently. Rumour is he’s off out on loan to Rochdale.

We've loaned striker Kwesi Appiah to Colchester for the season.

When fit he is better than this division. He will play 20 odd games and score 10 goals.

We can't shoot or score and we let last seasons top scorer join a relegation rival after barely giving him ten minutes this season. I am starting to get a little concerned.

Casey

Edit : sorry barramatt. For striker please read "experienced striker".

Colchester have signed Matty Longstaff on loan. Seems his career is going backwards a little, wasn't he at Mansfield last season?

Still trying to get one in and one out. Missed out on a lad from Palace who chose to go to Shrewsbury and we couldn’t persuade Josh Martin to drop to League 2 so he went to Barnsley.

He will score goals at this level, got a good knack for finding space in the box and can finish.

Clough completely failed to see it but forcing him in the squad ultimately did more damage than good because he’s not the sort of player to cover loads of ground and close everything and one down which is pretty essential to how we play, although we did still get to a play-off final to be fair.

He cost us nowt to loan, despite some protests on here and elsewhere, I hope Colchester got a similar deal.

Was linked with Barnsley earlier in the day I think.
Yeah it said Colchester 'beat off' Barnsley for his signature. Surely if you have any ambition at all you don't choose Colchester over Barnsley, unless Colchester can guarantee first team football whereas Barnsley can't/wouldn't.

Alex Gilbey signs for Stevenage. That also sounds like a good signing for them but I can't help feeling he could have signed for a club less 'meh' than them.

Gilbey is a fantastic signing for Stevenage.

For some reason it’s just not worked out here but there is no doubt, he should not be playing in League 2. I think location has played a big part in this one.

Think the club and manager are fairly confident that the squad as it is can stay up.

I heard that we've got some big massive marquee signing coming in very soon.

Some good experienced attacking player from the Championship with lots of pedigree who will blow this league away and get us up.

I am, but not massively over confident. I do think with this manager we’ve got a good chance, but I see us struggling down the bottom end.

The way I’m looking at it is if he can keep the shit tip he took over last season up, a squad I and many others thought were certain for relegation, then he should be able to keep this seasons team up. Only concern I have is we can’t keep our players fit.

And are you?

I get why there is no mad rush though.. we comfortably have the strongest squad in the Scottish 6th division, so no drama.
Were gona win the league, Were gona win the league. Paul Hartley,s Scottish army.

Bet he changes the formation/Players or both on saturday, And Colchester romp home.
Unfortunatley i think his days are shortening, Along with our odds of staying up.
