We're moving to Thrapston in East Northants. Originally we were set to move to Market Harborough but we got priced out of there over the last 12 months or so. Plan is to end up there eventually though.

Ah very nice. We initially wanted to more to Market Harborough as well but same re the cost and also the commute to London was just a little too much, so ended up on the outskirts of Daventry. Getting to Gills games are going to be tough for you now? (probably a good thing, giggles :) )

They will be on the occasions that I do them, but I work for Kings Lynn as a scout who of course now are National League North - being available for games further North is more important than having to come back down to the M25 fortunately.

We are 25/1 to win the league
Outright promotion 6/1
Top seven 3/1

And we haven,t got 11 players.

We,ll piss it when we have a squad, lol.
Grimsby & Rochdale, shorter odds than us.

What a crock of shyte.

What exactly are our expectations though? At the minute you can see why we have such long odds.

On paper we have a good manager (who is unproven here) a handful of good L2 players in a squad of 9. That'll obviously get bigger but there's nothing screaming out promotion contender. I'd probably settle for mid table if you're asking me now.

I wouldn’t go getting in a flap about what the bookies think.

Bookies stick odds up this early cos they want your money as quick as possible, it's about it.

Stockport County.
Hartlepool fans going mental over bookies odds. I can see SkyBet flyers being burned to ash like they did with Challinor's shirts and like Jeff Stelling sadly did to his cat (R.I.P) when DC left to become a champion.

The reality is, and the last thing I would want to do is wind up any Hartlepool fans up by saying this, but the reality is they are a very, very small club stuck up there in the North East. They're not going to be bookies favourites. That's not to say they can't compete with a good manager etc. But they're not going to be bookies favourites. But they're like everyone's second team, we all wish them well.

No idea to be honest, top half finish I'd be happy.
Just think the odds are a crock of shyte as the bookies don't really know much about League two teams.
Other than Stockport romping to the Title of course.

Even without a player signed I think top half has to be be the aim, a second season drifting around the lower reaches of midtable with an occasional flirt with the bottom two wouldn't be good enough at all.

and you’re an even smaller irrelevant side in the north west, confused by your point?

Never get this daft thing about attendances
Last defence of a club who think they should be better than they are, the benchmark is Sheffield Wednesday. our friends down the road bring it up, however for our "must win" game v Oldham somehow 5,000 turned up, whilst they put on offers for one game last season and they just scraped over that.

It really doesn’t mean much at all.

Especially at our level, if you’re well ran, bring in decent money in games and outside football you’ll be fine.

Normally those going on about attendances are those who were once big and/or important and are now irrelevant.

Wow. Can't address them all. It wasn't a dig at Hartlepool at all, they could well have a good season if they get the right group of lads in. I was saying what the bookies would be thinking. They'll just think "stuck up there in the North East in their crap little stadium etc".

And I even I said I wish them well because I like them.

Any grievances get them off your chest now. I'm not having anything festering.

Loving this.
A bunch of northerners squabbling.
It’s like a Monty Python sketch.
This season could be fun after all!

I know it's a trope, but I can't say I ever have been in the presence of someone drinking a shandy down south.
I think it’s a northern cocktail mate.
To consumer with Tripe I believe.
Strange lot.

I love going up north, the people are friendly and don't take themselves too seriously, the food is usually class and the beer varied and not a complete rip off. Shame it's so far away!

To be serious for a minute, my daughter was at Newcastle for 4 years so I went up the north east a lot.
Genuinely the friendliest, most welcoming people I have ever met.
Loved a night out too!!
