Stockport County.
The North is better than the South easily. Not even up for debate. Far more culture and revolution has come from the North. Better Irish-Scots mix too, who add a lot to our culture.

London is a wig that covers up the South's fucking terrible hairline.

That last quote is fantastic! Don't get me wrong as a southerner there are some great bits down here, I'll pop back when I remember what they are!!

Can't fault that even as a true blooded southerner from the home counties. Currently in the midlands and it's better even here football and otherwise. Didn't realise how moody my accent was until i went out in Liverpool where everyone was dead friendly

Going back to the early70's -- The Skinhead fashion finished in the south late 71 . Whils't at that time it was still at its height in the North. Always had a chuckle when we went up North to see what they were ( still ) wearing.

Never eaten tripe,isn't it a Yorkshire/Lancashire delicacy.

There's a tripe shop in Stalybridge high street - that just about straddles Lancashire and Yorkshire.

It was too much tripe that addled Masi's brain.

There are dedicated tripe shops?

Goodness me.

Never thought tripe was fit for human consumption! i give it to my dogs once a week as a treat
I have never eaten tripe though my father loved it. Romans love it and sell it from street stalls though they know how to prepare food better than us.

I love going up north, the people are friendly and don't take themselves too seriously, the food is usually class and the beer varied and not a complete rip off. Shame it's so far away!

Whereas i don’t tend to do games south of birmingham more for finances than anything else, anywhere down south that isn’t london orientated is fine for me, especially the south west with the ciders.

As for london and the south-east, urgh. no comment.

Folk will always get a good welcome in mansfield providing they’re not being a tit (which is the case everywhere i’d imagine).

It’s also eaten in Mexico, Spain and France

Never trust a dead friendly scouser, they’ve probably just nicked your car.

I live in a village in Kent and two of my good friends are from Mansfield. One is a Forest Fan (sorry) and the other is a Mansfield fan. The Forest fan (the husband) is still a season ticket holder and goes up for every match.
They both say as much as they like Mansfield they would never want to live anywhere other than where they are now.
So I suppose they are good and bad places everywhere.
I agree London is a shithole but they are some lovely and very friendly places in the South East too.
Anyway, I better get on with the northerners as next season I will be spending a lot of time up there.

Greater Manchester isn’t Lancashire though, any more than Merseyside is. I’d forgotten about Tameside tbh. Residents of Wirral where I was born and grew up would never consider themselves as Lancastrian just because it moved from Cheshire to Merseyside in the 70s.

Yeah you get that quite frequently in south manchester which was cheshire, folk get quote sensitive about it, even folk 30 odd etc who were born when it was in greater manchester.

Some areas in greater manchester still have old postcodes though, like stockport (sk - which staylebridge is) or altrincham with an WA postcode.

Such excitement!

Yeah for a long period Wirral postcodes were L but switched back to CH, when they changed where the mail was sorted.
