Ah yeah Tranmere could well be top two. Mansfield don't seem to be as bad this season as usual, in all fairness.

I'd be amazed if we're paying that much of a wage for Khan. Not aware of any demotion related wage cuts for around 9 players who were still under contract from last season, which might push our wage bill towards the upper end of L2, but suspect we're nowhere near Bolton, Salford or Mansfield.

Yeah I think we've benefited so much from the endless energy that Mellish, Toure, Kayode, Patrick and when he comes on, Reilly have. We're comfortable chasing the play and then when we get it, making good use of the time we have to get it forward, almost like a rugby team, setting up without the ball and shepherding rather than dictating the play. The opposition get the ball but then are constantly backpedalling.

It also helps that we have a midfielder in Callum Guy that anticipates where the ball is going to be and what opponents are going to do before nipping in and taking the ball better than any midfielder we’ve had in quite a while.

We lost 5 days ago and I didn’t go that way. I was optimistic over the summer of a mid table finish, then the way we started the season I got worried about our league status again, but since then I’ve seen more than enough from us to be confident that barring an injury disaster or a points deduction we won’t be in any relegation trouble this season.
