Mr Venture Capitalist, where do you think you get the Dr and Nurses to work in these private hospitals
Without the national health you would have no Private Hospitals
Sorry. Thought you blocked me.
Arguing against capitalism might win on current form but the rest of the country think ya twat.

God knows why no other country have copied the NHS. You'd think it was amazing. Oh wait.

Majority is a pain aint it. We aint all vegan eating antifa here fella.

Tory is no longer an insult, but throw it at me. Happy to be publicly against legalised theft and stealing people's money. Ill shout that till the cows go home (not sure if that's a vegan lefty friendly saying?) But being retarded enough to think Obama(a hard leftie) is comparable to the NHS shows nothing more than a severe lack of brain cells.

Thinking we are the only country with a deformed, inefficient, over priced health care system proves you haven't left your carrot bedroom in years.

Duel systems work wonders. I've needed the NHS under critical conditions, it IS shite. I was on a 3 month waiting list that turned into 14 months before I turned private. Night and day when the service when you actually pay the staff on efficiency and outcome

Who knew capitalism and free markets were the way forward? Only 90% of the planet.

Whilst I'm very much on the left of centre (though not socialist), I have no idea why you keep referring to me as being a vegan.

The NHS is underfunded - it's certainly not shite, as you so eloquently put it. It's probably the only thing left in this country to be proud of at the moment.

I also haven't met a nurse yet who got into it for the money either.

As per usual you are way off the mark and so wrong. I Would bet 95% of the population would say the NHS is great
Whichever side of the political sphere you are on.

I would like to see anyone else on this site agree with you

Quite staggering how many City fans are in favour of this on their forum.

Rewind the clocks to 1999 and i wonder how many of them would have enjoyed the indignity of hosting a league match against Manchester United B.

The majority of people who bothered to vote backed the thieves who now run the country. Not the majority of the population.

Us Northern scum must stick together on this even if we aren't very fond of each others clubs. The NHS saves lives.

Yeovil fans sang dirty northern bastards at us once, and we're further north than Gloucester (who play in the Conference North) so I assume we count here?

Why not. As long as you don't mind a bit of grimness. Its grim up here apparently. Sitting here looking out of my window at the garden with all the trees waving in the breeze always reminds of that.

There's an interesting youtube video asking British people about the cost of American health care.

It is illuminating.

This wouldn't affect Devon Lad because he clearly supports Jacob Rees-Mogg and therefore supports private health care and tax evasion/avoidance. Probably got all his money in off shore tax havens. Patriotic to the point of not wanting any of his money in the country in case all the foreigners living here might sully it with their touch.

I actually like Jacob Rees Mogg. At least he is consistent with his views unlike some we could mention. The fact I disagree with those views doesn't mean he cannot hold them and it doesnt mean I cannot respect them either.

The strange thing in the private/public health debate, that often gets overlooked, is that the yanks pay far more per person in health care than we do.

The other fact that often gets overlooked is the American sporting system is far more socialist than Europes in nature and practice.

The USA ranks 15th in the world for health care standards. The UK ranks 6th. It is a proven fact that health care treatments are far better in the NHS than in private hospitals and it is also a proven fact that private hospitals are unable to treat most life threatening illnesses in the UK. They always refer patients to the NHS. Pay as much as you want but if you do not want to die then the NHS is your only option. Dispute it all you want, but the truth is that you will be wrong.

Having had major surgery in Devon RD&E I can assure you it provides a top notch service with excellent care.

"Tory" is a dirty word for many in Exeter, unfortunately the surrounding countryside areas are populated by old wealthy people who only care about themselves. Thus leading to some fairly safe Tory seats in areas like East Devon.

Man city and the Tories are very similar organisations in many ways. Both are frankly a bunch of c*** who have no interest in anything other than their own personal profit and furthering their own demented agendas. Fuck em, and fuck this proposal.
I'd rather do the jail time for committing arson at the Etihad than allow this to happen.

the NHS is one of the most poorly run and expensive systems in the world.
The NHS regularly tops the league tale of delivered health outcomes and is streets ahead of most in terms of quality delivered for cost in parity dollars. This despite the years of underfunding - in fact, it's because the model is so efficient and the staff dedicated that they've been able to get away with salami slicing the service without making it collapse. The only health systems it occasionally swaps places with are similar nationalised systems like in other north European countries.
There's something especially comical about "real world" Tories who have to invent pack of Jackanory lies so they can push their extremist head-banging market woo ideology. An ideology they never question even though it fails spectacularly every decade or two to be bailed out by the public purse. Spending other people's money is fine then, of course.

In fairness to League Two footballers, compared to the rest of us in our professions they are pretty near the top of theirs. According to Transfermarkt, there are around 2400 registered footballers in the top four divisions, while the PFA has 4000 members, which includes womens' football players as well as professionals in non-league and players currently without a club.

It's only going to be a ballpark estimate as to how many of those 2400 are first-team players as opposed to kids on development contracts but given most clubs have around 24 players and only have a few development players with professional deals at any one time, it's likely that there are around 2000 professional footballers in the mens' game with senior contracts at a club in the top four divisions. Then you ask yourself, is a first team regular in League Two higher up in their profession than a benchwarmer from League One? It's kind of subjective tbh and the wages players get don't necessarily reflect perfectly the league they're in and the amount of first team football they play. A player who is competitive at L2 level may well consider themselves to be in the top 1500 of players nationally.

I think it's fair for someone who is in the top 2000 or 1500 in the country of their profession to expect to earn at least the national average, and that's before we consider that football is a short career that can end at any time. In my view, the wages expected by players at L2 level isn't the problem.

I think you are mistaking me saying I quite like JRM as me saying the NHS is shit. I'm not and I wouldn't have the American system at all.

The other thing about these thick tossers who moan about taxation that makes me laugh is they reckon their beloved entrepreneurs would be out there competing in the global marketplace with a workforce that's had no education in a country with no roads or infrastructure because all you need to do is pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

It's only 19 years ago we were playing Man City in Div 1. Funny how their new wealth has erased their memory somewhat.

Our win at Huddersfield in 1998 saved ourselves and sent Man City down to the third tier (and Stoke :D) how times change! Used to be us, you, Swindon etc in the second tier.

The reason these clubs want b teams, is because they stockpile so many players that they don't know what to do with.

I would scrap u21/development teams altogether, change the youth leagues to u19 and limit all Premier League clubs to u19 squads of 20. Their first team squads would be limited to 30 players inc u21's.

I think some people just don't understand how unbelievably difficult it is to become a professional athlete in the first place. Not only do you have to be extremely naturally talented but your fitness and diet has to be completely on-point as well. It takes a lot of hard work, drive and resilience to get there. All of this is especially true for football, which is the most popular and competitive of all sports. Ask yourself how many kids dream of being a professional footballer and how many actually make it as one.

If you do make it as a professional footballer- even if it is "only" at League Two level- then it's fair to say that you are comfortably within the top 1% in your field. And if you include all the youngsters who never made it then that 1% figure is going to be a lot smaller. Personally, I think it's pretty ridiculous to suggest, as somebody did earlier in this thread, that somebody in the top 1% (or better) of their field should be paid a salary of £20,000: less than the national average. That's an absurdity that wouldn't happen in any other industry so I don't see why it should happen in football.
